Chapter 542: Moody's Defense Against the Dark Arts
Because of word of mouth in the senior years, the fourth-graders at Greenfondo eagerly awaited Moody's first class, and after lunch, they arrived early before the bell rang and lined up outside the classroom.
The only one who wasn't there was Hermione, who was just in time for class.
"I'm ......"
Hermione was dressed roughly, and Van Lin held her in one hand.
"Library. Harry finished for her, "Hurry up, or we'll run out of seats." โ
They hurriedly sat down on the four chairs in front of the podium, took out the "Guide to the Defense of Evil Forces", and waited in extraordinary silence.
Van Lin is looking forward to what this parallel trade will bring them.
Dark magic? Or is it the Unforgivable Curse?
Soon, they heard the sound of Moodit's gurgling footsteps coming in from the hallway.
Moody limped into the classroom, still as strange and scary as ever.
All they could see was his clawed wooden feet sticking out from under his robes.
"You can take those things. He roared and walked to the podium and sat down, "Those books, you won't need them." โ
Everyone obediently put these books in their school bags, and in fact, whenever the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor said that, the class would be a lot more interesting.
They put the book back in their bag, and Ron looked excited.
Moody pulled out the registration book, pulled the long gray mane from his twisted, scarred face, and began to roll call, his normal eyes gradually scanning down the list while his magic eye turned to focus on every student who should have arrived.
"Alright. When the last man arrived, indicating his presence, he said, "I got a letter from Professor Lupin and Professor Blake about the class, and it seems that you have a solid foundation on how to deal with evil creaturesโyou've learned Boggetts, Red Riding Hood, Kingpunks, Greenilo, Caps, and Vere Owis, right?"
Most of the students agreed with him.
"But you're lagging behind, very least, when it comes to dealing with spells. "So, I want you to know how wizards can do to each other, and I've got a year to teach you how to deal with blackโ"
"What, aren't you staying?" Ron blurted out.
Moody's magic eye turned to stare at Ron, who looked scared, but Moody smiled after a while,โโ Harry smiled for the first time, and the result was that the scarred face looked more distorted and distorted, however, it was always a relief to know that he would smile as a friendly gesture, and Ron seemed much more relaxed.
"You must be Arthur Weasley's son, right?" said Moody, "Your dad helped me out of this situation a few days ago...... Yes, I'm only going to stay for a year, thanks to Dumbledore's wrong love...... A year, and then go back to retire quietly. โ
His laughter was hoarse, and his bruised hand patted it.
"So, just start taking spells, they come in many forms, they are infinitely powerful, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Magic, I will teach you the art of anti-dark magic, and then until the sixth year, I will show you what illegal dark magic spells look like, but Professor Dumbledore thinks very highly of you, and thinks that you can handle it, my opinion is that the sooner you know what you are guarding against, the better, but how do you protect yourself against things that you have never seen? The wizard who wants to cast a curse on you will not tell you what he is doing. He doesn't cast a friendly and polite spell on you in your presence, you have to be on your guard, you have to be vigilant, Miss Brown, you have to put that thing aside when I lecture. โ
Levingdon was startled and blushed, she had just shown Pwight the newly completed diagram under the table, Moody's magic eye could see not only through her head, but also through wood.
"So, do any of you know what spells are most severely punished by witchcraft?"
Several hands were raised, including Ron and Hermione, and Moody pointed at Ron, but his eyes were still on Levendon.
"Hmm. Ron said tentatively, "My dad told there was a ...... Is it called the Imperius Curse, or is it something about?"
"Ah, yes. Moody complimented him and said, "Your dad should know that, the Imperius spell has been causing a lot of trouble for the ministry for a while. โ
Van Lin's brow furrowed, this was definitely not what Dumbledore meant.
It seems that Moody intends to cast the Unforgivable Spell in class. While that's fine with the original Moody's, it shouldn't be in the classroom.
Let's not talk about violating the rules of the Ministry of Magic.
Hogwarts wasn't Durmstrang, and Hogwarts couldn't afford to have a second Voldemort......
Moody's magic eye was definitely not staring at Brown, and Van Lin could feel something looking at him, and it seemed that he didn't have a complete grasp.
As far as Van Lin knew, Moody's magic eye was a very clever alchemy product, perfectly fused with the human body, which was rare in the circle of alchemists, and it also had a very powerful effect.
Perspective, as well as the Templar Mind.
Moody's asymmetrical feet struggled to prop him up, his face trembling slightly, his tongue sticking out slightly, and he looked excited.
Moody stood up, he opened the drawer and pulled out a glass jar with three huge giant spiders in it, and Ron winced a little next to him - Ron hates spiders, this is something everyone knows, and Ron has shown it when he faced Boggart.
Moody's hand reached into the jar, grabbed a spider, and placed it in the palm of his hand so that all the students could see it.
"Now, what do you want him to do?"
Moody asked, his tone expectant, and then, pointing his wand at it, he said, "Imperio!"
A faint ray of light sank into the spider's body, and Van Lin observed that the spider's body swelled slightly.
When applied to the human body, this spell does not bring about such a change.
Under the control of the wand, the spider leaped from Moody's palm and began to sway forward and backward like an elevated shelf, it stiffened its legs outstretched, flipped back, the thread broke, and the spider landed on the table, and it began to spin in circles like a wheel.
Moody flicked his wand, and the spider stood up on two legs, no doubt kicking and dancing.
Everyone burst out laughing.
Moody waved his wand again, and the spider soared into the air.
It began to fall over the students' bodies, like Ron's desk, Neville's clothes, the back of Brown's hands, to Finigan...... Well, Phinegan took a book and sent the spider flying.
Everyone was laughing very happily.
"And what about that?" Moody's wand flicked, and the spider was glued to the window in large shapes.
"Or, is it so?" the spider landed on the edge of the bucket.
His limbs trembled, as if trying to grasp the edge of the bucket firmly.
But under Moody's control, the spider's only instinct to survive doesn't work much.
Everyone laughed a little reluctantly.
"Do you think it's funny?" he growled, "would you be happy if I cast a spell on you?"
The laughter immediately stopped.
"At my mercy," Modi said calmly, the spider curled up and rolled around, "I can let it jump out of the window, drown itself, or throw it down your throats......"
Ron shuddered.
"A few years ago, many wizards and mages said they were controlled by the Imperius spell," Moody said.
Harry knew he was talking about Barty Crouch's reign, or rather, Voldemort's world.
"One of the ministries' job is to try to distinguish between those who are passive and who are active. โ
Moody's one eye was staring at Harry, and the other was the same, unconsciously focusing on the past.
"The Out-of-Body Spell can be broken, I'll teach you how to break it, but it takes a lot of willpower, not everyone has it, if you can, it's best to avoid it and stay vigilant!" he roared, and everyone was startled.
Moody lifted the acrobatic spider and threw it back into the jar, "Does anyone else know about illegal spells?"
Hermione raised her hand again, and to Harry's surprise, Neville did too, he usually only raised his hand during his best arithmetic and divination lessons.
Even Neville was amazed at how bold he was.
"What is it?" Moody's MONOCULUS turned to Neville. "There's one, it's called the Piercing Heart Bone Splitting Spell. Neville's voice was small but clear.
Moody was glued to Neville this time.
"Your name is Longbottom?" his eyes lowered, looking at the register.
Neville nodded nervously, but Moody didn't ask any more questions, turning to the class, where he took another spider from the jar and placed it on the table, the spider was visibly frightened and didn't move.
"The Heart-Piercing Spell," Modi said, "needs something bigger for you to understand." He pointed his wand at the spider and said, "Engorgio!"
The spider swelled rapidly, larger than a Tarantula bee, and Ron no longer concealed his fear, pulling his chair as far away as possible from Moody's desk.
Moody waved his wand again, pointed at the spider and said, "Grucio!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the spider bent its legs towards its body, and it rolled, twisted violently, and swayed from side to side, it didn't make any sound, but Harry must have screamed loudly if it could, and Moody waved his wand, and the spider began to tremble and move.
"Stop!" Hermione screamed. Van Lin looked at her in surprise, not at the spider, but at Neville.
Van Lin followed her gaze and saw Neville's clenched fists resting on the table in front of him, his knuckles white, his eyes wide open, looking terrified.
Moody raised his wand, and the spider's legs slackened, but it continued to writhe.
"Reducio. Moody read, and the restored spider was put back into the jar.
"Pain," Modi said softly, "if you can cast the Piercing Spell, you don't need a finger-gripping instrument or a knife to torture people...... This spell was also abused at one time. โ
"Well, does anyone know any other spells?"
Harry looked around, and from the expressions on everyone's faces, he guessed that they all wanted to know what would happen to the last spider, and Hermione raised her hand for the third time, her hand shook slightly.
"What is it?" Moody said, looking at her.
"Avada Kedavra!"
Van Lin recited the incantation first, and in his opinion, this kind of thing should not be left to Hermione.
Several people, including Ron, looked at Van Lin uneasily.
"Ah, yes," Modi said, a smile twisting his missing mouth, "yes, the last most vicious spell, Avada Kedavra ...... Death is a curse. โ
"I don't think this spell should be displayed in front of everyone, Professor Moody. Van Lin frowned, the boldness of the fake Moody was somewhat beyond expectations.
"Mr. Vanlin Ayr," said Moody, "not every young wizard can fight a dark wizard like you do, they should know the methods of the dark wizards, the most terrifying of them. โ
Moody said, and he didn't mean to stop.
Van Lin clenched his fist slightly, and Hermione looked at Van Lin with some anxiety.
Moody reached into the can.
As if it knew its fate, the third spider crawled frantically at the bottom of the jar, trying to avoid Moody's hands.
But eventually, Moody caught the spider and placed it on the countertop, and Moody raised his wand on the wooden tabletop, and Harry felt a sudden omen.
"Avada Kedavara!" Moody yelled.
A blinding green light flashed, accompanied by a loud bang, as if an invisible behemoth roared in the air, and at the same time, the spider rolled over, no sign of it, but obviously dead, several girls forced their screams, and the spider slid towards Ron, who fell backwards, almost knocking over the chair.
Moody swept the dead spider to the ground.
"It's poisonous," he said calmly, "it's not pleasant, there's no spell to rival it, nothing can stop it, and the only man known to have escaped the spell of death is sitting in front of me." โ
Unlike everyone, Van Lin's expression could be said to be shocked.
If anyone could observe Van Lin's eyes, they would be able to see that Van Lin's eyes had completely turned blue.
He had tried to get the spider away, but Moody reacted in an instant and stopped him.
The magic was very viscous, but it was like some kind of magic, and Van Lin couldn't even remember that he had encountered it there.
He hasn't fully recovered yet, and it will take at least another month, and he won't be able to do anything before that.
Van Lin's efforts to calm his mind were only a matter of moments, and apart from him and Moody, only Hermione beside him felt a trace of coldness.
Hermione, though, was more of a shock.
The impact of Avada Kedavra was so great that it was the first time for young wizards to come into contact with the spell.
Ron had used it when he was unconscious, but Ron's magic was too weak to create a momentum like Moody's.
Just as Harry remembered, such a bleak green light, a terrible thing.
In an instant, all the bad things rushed into his mind, like a nightmare, and even Harry had the illusion of a pain in his forehead, as if Voldemort was standing right in front of him.
That terrible man, hateful face.
