Chapter Seventy-Five: The Little Village

At the foot of the smooth mountain, as far as the eye can see, the greenery is like a curtain, and it is as open as a rock. A crooked river, like a jade belt, encircles the mountain.

Between the river and the mountains, a small village appeared in front of the people who had been running for several days. At noon, the village is filled with smoke and willows. Walking across the polished stone bridge over the river and through the maple forest below the village, you can hear the crowing of chickens and dogs.

The naked and pigtailed children, when they saw Bello and his party, they couldn't help but pay attention, and after a while, there were a group of bare-bottomed children behind them.

After a few days of trekking, I finally saw people, which meant that I could finally relax.

Bello felt like he was suddenly in a different world.

In the group, except for Bello, several other people were a little puzzled, Olivier took a closer look at the village, and asked Stefana with some confusion: "Last time we came, did you have this village?"

"No!" replied De Lanese, who flatly denied that there had ever been a village.

"Could it be that we are going off track?" Barbarare scratched his head and asked, "Could it be that we were in too much of a hurry and went in a detour?" After all, the last time I came, it was just to verify the authenticity of the map. If you go a little further south, or a little further north, you might miss the village.

"There's a village, just a good time to rest, hey, kids, can you tell me where the village chief is?" Delanese smiled kindly, looking at the children who followed him, and they looked at him giggling, and no one answered. Delanese took out a silver coin from his bosom, pinched it with one hand, held it in front of his eyes, opened one eye, closed one eye and grimaced, and said, "Whoever can take me to the village chief's house, I will give him a silver coin as a thank-you!"

Still no one responded to him, and the group of children still looked at the group from afar with the eyes of a monkey, and did not come forward at all.

De Lane was a little embarrassed, took the silver coin, scratched his head, turned back to the people who stretched out his hand, and said, "Let's go to which house to ask, find someone, have a good meal, rest, and make final preparations!"

His words were approved by everyone. Along the way, I ate and slept in the open air, and I was worried every day, and there was no stable time at all. Along the way, the exhaustion has accumulated to the extreme. Relaxing and putting the finishing touches on entering the ruins will only be beneficial and not harmful.

There is a main road in the village, and along the main road of the village, I knocked on the doors of several houses in a row, but no one answered. I had to keep moving forward. Until I saw a woman from the village pouring a basin of dirty water at the door of the street. De Lanese hurriedly stepped forward to greet him: "Hello ma'am, can I trouble you for a moment?"

The woman wrapped her head in a cloth, and was wearing a washed and somewhat whitish homespun cloth, fat and black, and looked at De Lanes who greeted her, frowning, squinting, and curiosity overflowing.

"What's the matter?" the woman asked, speaking in a completely different accent from the one Bello had heard before, a very nasal voice that seemed to come out of her nasal cavity. But fortunately, I can understand it, and if I can't understand it, I'll be blind again.

"Hello, hello!" De Lanese was overjoyed to see that he could communicate, and hurriedly stepped forward, bowing and namas, "We are passing by here, looking for a place to rest and eat!" He said, "I don't know where in this village there is a place to eat, rest for the night, we will give money." He finally emphasized the issue of money.

"You go down this road!" the woman didn't speak much, and several of them sounded struggling, barely able to understand what she was saying. Perhaps she had a hard time listening to De Lanese, so she took the basin in her hand, pointed to the end of the way, and gestured to tell the group where it was.

If there is a clear location, it will be much easier, and a group of people thanked the woman, and hurriedly walked two steps to the head of the village. This is the highest place in the village. There was a small courtyard, and when I knocked on the door and entered, I saw a fat man with a rosacea full of red light. The fat man's voice was similar to that of the lady, and his voice was very nasal, but fortunately he could hear it clearly.

"Eat, rest, no problem! If you have money, you can do it!" The fat man didn't see anything outside, he directly stretched out his hand, made a gesture to count the money, and then stretched out his hand in front of everyone. Drynes took out two silver coins and threw them in his hand. The fat man looked at the silver coin in his hand, weighed it in his hand, shook his head, and continued to stretch out his hand.

"How much do you want?" asked Delanese a little impatiently, just say as much as you want, what kind of dumb riddle.

"Two golds!" the fat man smiled and stretched out his hand, not caring at all about De Lanese's tone.

"Why don't you go and rob?" said Delanese, angrily, two gold talers! No one's money is blown by the wind. Eat something and stay for two gold thalers for one night, which is even more ruthless than the robbers that Bello has encountered on the way.

"Look at what I said!" the fat man still smiled and stretched out his hand, he pronounced the sound of "you" into four "reverse", which sounded very happy, "How can I rob with my safety and money?

De Lanese squinted, pressed the killing intent surging in his heart, showed a sneer on his face, and asked in a cold voice: "Make so much money, aren't you afraid of accidents?"

"Look at what you say! What can happen!" "The fat man with a rosacea, not tall, his head looks like a persimmon with a carrot pasted on it, how to look at it, how happy he looks, but he is very bold. Obviously, he heard the killing intent in Delanes's heart, but he didn't care, "Look at it! This dish has to be bought with money, this chef has to spend money to ask, and the house has to be repaired, which one doesn't need money? If you don't pay for it, find another place to see! I won't accept it!" The fat man has no fear, he is not afraid of these people running to other people's houses.

"This fat man is very arrogant, what hole cards do you have?" Olivier whispered, and Barbarre, Stefana and the others bowed their heads slightly, agreeing with Olivier's words.

Naturally, De Lane also heard Olivier's words, thought about it, and was about to enter the ruins in front of him, so it was not appropriate to do much, so he took out a gold coin from his pocket, counted ten silver coins, and put them in the fat man's hand together.

"Okay, look at you!" the fat man took the money and grabbed it in his hand, smiled all over his face, and invited the group to sit in the house.

The interior of the room is very simple, with a large square table and two rows of high-backed chairs in the middle. On the center wall is a large oil painting. The picture painted is of the crucifixion of the angels. The angel was pierced through the chest by a large spear, and dark red blood flowed around him. The whole picture looks eerie in beauty.

There was nothing on the walls on either side, plastered with white plaster. There are two yellow wooden doors to the left and right of the hall, and when you open them, you will see guest rooms on both sides, no one living in them, two beds, a table, and some indescribable oil paintings hanging on the walls. The fat man introduced that the other guest room is next door, not connected, and you can enter directly from the yard after eating.

There was no one in the room, except for the fat man, an elderly woman who had just been called. The old woman was a little sluggish, and basically did not speak, and the fat man instructed her to wipe the table and sweep the floor for a long time, and tidy up the room.

Dinner is broth, black bread, collected money, the fat man tossed things in place, the soup tasted good, although the bread is not white bread, at least it was just made, it was okay.

At night, Belo and Olivier lived in a room, and finally got rid of the wind and food and sleeping, and the body and mind were greatly relaxed, Belo took a hot bath, and soon fell into a dream.

The dream world disappeared, and Belo dreamed that he had wings and could fly, flying everywhere in the vast world. Fly to the surface of the glassy lake, float on the water, fly to the treetops, glide on willow branches, and finally fly to the clouds. It was cold on the clouds, and the frozen Belo shivered.

Cold!

Bello woke up from his dream trembling. He suddenly realized that something was wrong. When I went to bed last night, I was clearly covered with a thick quilt, and there was nothing on my body at this time. Naked and exposed to the air, no wonder it gets cold.

What's going on? Bello was dazed and sleepy. He thought the quilt had fallen under the bed, got up, and looked around the bed - he didn't see it.

What's the situation?

Bello clasped his hands on his chest and was about to look around, when a gust of wind blew, and goosebumps suddenly appeared on his body.

Wind?

Bello woke up in horror!

How can it be windy in the house?

He looked in the direction of the wind, and in the moonlight, he could faintly see a half-collapsed wall. Through the declining part, you can reach the sky outside, and the red moon is quietly hanging in the sky, swaying with brilliance.

What's the situation?

Am I dreaming?

Bello stepped forward, and the wall was on the right side of his bed, and he reached for it, and it was collapsing.

This?

Spatial fragmentation again?

It's urgent!

Bello shouted, "Olivier, run!" and grabbed his clothes and ran out. He was barefoot and naked, wearing only underwear. It was dark in front of me, I couldn't see the road clearly, my feet were cold, one foot deep and one foot shallow. He rushed out the door only to find that Olivier had not reacted at all.

Is Olivier dead?

What about the others?

Belo suddenly found that everything was silent, and all the space was immersed in the dark red moonlight, eerie and dim, and even the sound of insects could not be heard, quiet and dull.

Only he ran out in a panic, and the others didn't react at all.

What's going on?

Got it wrong?

Bello hesitated, and only then did he feel the cold. He put on his clothes, wiped the dirt from his feet, and put his shoes on. I looked at the house I had just run out of.

He suddenly felt that something was wrong with the atmosphere, and took a closer look around, only to find that during the day, the neat houses seemed to have changed shape. Approach the nearest courtyard and take a closer look. The courtyard is completely different from what it looks like during the day.

This is a dilapidated courtyard, the courtyard walls have collapsed in several places, a few long black shadows, which are miscellaneous trees in the courtyard, and by the moonlight, the rest of the courtyard can be reached with dead grass. The house in the courtyard also collapsed in half, revealing tattered beams, and the roof was black, and the roof shook when the wind blew, and it looked like dead grass.

This is clearly a house that has not been lived in for many years, and it has fallen into disrepair!

Bello couldn't hold back the panic in his heart, feeling that this was completely different from what he had seen during the day! He turned around and walked a few steps along the way, and another small courtyard, under the red moonlight like water, was still collapsing and depleted, and it was not at all the clean and neat house that it looked like during the day.

What's going on?

Bello asked himself secretly, am I still dreaming? He pinched his arm, the pain was terrible, obviously not a dream.
