Section B, Chapter 48: Tentacle Monster (Anusen)
Hurriedly stepping away, the knight pulled out his shield and sword, and stared nervously at the enemy's movements. The monster landed jerked in front of him, staggering backwards.
Expecting the enemy to rush over, the knight was a little surprised. However, in the next second, he understood the monster's idea: it wanted to blow itself up with its eggs, but according to the trajectory of the parabola, it had to go back a little further to blow it up.
Immediately striding forward with his shield, the knight took the initiative and approached the enemy. However, the swept tentacles were extremely strong, and they shook the knight back a step.
There was a "bang", this time the side of the house was hit by an egg, which threw the knight two meters away and slammed into the wall. The two Ayas grunted so far that they almost fell out the door.
The houses were all slammed down...... I'm afraid it's going to collapse in a moment!!Listening to the sound of Guladan still moving bricks, the knight hurriedly glanced out the window: fortunately, there was no flame when the egg exploded, otherwise the entire harbor would have been in flames. The streets and rooftops are littered with those disgusting cubs, hunting down the last wave of pedestrians before they have time to retreat.
Reinforcements from the outpost had apparently not yet arrived, so they could not completely stop the monsters from heading south of town to hunt the inhabitants. Many of the houses were badly damaged, and several were already blown up. Someone didn't dodge the explosion, and their entire body was blown to pieces, and blood flowed all over the ground. The streets paved with snow and stone are now riddled with holes, leaving many pits two or three meters deep. It is conceivable that it is basically impossible to bear the siege of this creature.
Even if you keep throwing eggs at a distance, it's enough for the defenders to drink a pot. It didn't take long for the walls to be blown open, but the enemy didn't need to attack them at all. Once Maharen still moves towards the city while dropping bombs, the final outcome is most likely to be the death of the entire city.
However, the cities that Maharenn had conquered were so badly damaged that they could not be repaired. Therefore, it is generally not used to capture important cities that need to be captured and developed.
On the street, the guards drew their weapons one after another and began to fight the monsters. However, there were quite a few people who were blown up by the eggs thrown by the roof monsters. Since it is the egg of a cub, it will not die directly if it is shot in a non-critical part, and no new pups will hatch.
Monsters on rooftops are a big problem...... They just stayed there and kept dropping bombs. Even if an archer is hit by an arrow, it is not affected in the slightest: I have never heard of a slime-like creature being killed by an arrow. These creatures have to be cleaned up with blunt weapons or sorcery.
After a hurried glance, the knight turned and looked at the monster again: it had been staggering from the shaking of the house, and could not get up.
Is this thing going to be so funny...... Anusen didn't know what expression he was supposed to show at this time: Isn't it quite powerful?
Just as the knight was about to rush over and kill it, another monster suddenly jumped out of the shattered window and wrapped its tentacles around the knight's neck. Shocked, Anusen immediately raised his sword, sliced the milky white tentacles, and threw the monster down the window. Stained with transparent slime, the knight took a breath and frowned in disgust: it smelled fishy.
This thing seems to have just hit the back of the wall and has been stuck there ever since...... Looking at the stunned monster downstairs, the knight suddenly heard the sound of slime sliding again, and immediately turned back vigilantly: it took dozens of seconds for the cub to finally get up. And, waving its tentacles, its body suddenly constricted.
With Lucina's nervous shouts, the knight immediately raised his shield and blocked it in front of the half-crouched body. Several explosive bombs hit in an instant, and they all exploded on the shield.
Due to the Nether Iron Shield's incredible hardness and resistance to impact, the knight was only slightly shocked and fell back without falling to the ground. Inflicted with some ringing in his ears from the explosion, the knight lowered his waist and raised his shield on the spot and charged at the enemy, knocking them into the wall. Then, he raised his sword and slashed at the cub. At this moment, a question suddenly appeared in his mind: Something is wrong? Where should I cut to be effective?
Without too much hesitation, he subconsciously slashed at the waving tentacles, cutting off three or four of them together: judging from the feel when cutting off, its body was indeed a soft slime.
Slashing tentacles doesn't seem to be of much use...... Without the slightest retreat, the knight watched out of the window for another influx of enemies, and the shield pressed the enemy against the wall, as motionless as a mountain of heavy ramparts.
The best way to deal with slimes is to smash them directly with a hammer or burn them with fire. Magical attacks are just as effective as piercing.
Having no time to think about where to attack, the knight simply pressed his whole body weight on the shield and squeezed the monster against the wall: the shield was also a blunt weapon. Unbelief can't kill it.
Sure enough, after struggling for a while, it was finally squashed. Amazingly, it fell apart and melted into slime.
"Wow! it's disgusting!" Lucina appeared next to the knight at some point, her face full of disgust: "You have ...... all over your body Fishy. ”
"How did I know it would happen...... No, how did you get here?" After a pause, the knight turned around and looked at the stone demon who was still trying to move bricks: "Hasn't Guladan broken the barrier yet?"
"I'm a mage! Proudly crossing her waist, Lucina looked extremely excited, and suddenly hugged the knight: "I almost think you're going to hang up!"
"I haven't lived long enough. With a wry smile, Anusen did not refuse. He looked at the mucus that was disappearing rapidly on his body, and sighed: Aya's purification power is really powerful, and you can remove the dirt by touching it.
"What, these little cubs aren't so bad?" Turning her head to look at the monster crawling up from the window, Lucina patted the knight on the back, then let go of her hands and cast a spell. A flame erupted from the palm of his hand and ignited the "slime", burning it into slime in a matter of seconds.
"Aren't you bad at fire magic?" the knight was surprised, "How do you ...... now?"
"It's true that I'm not good at fire spells, but I can still do it to this extent. Hehe laughed twice, and Lucina looked quite proud: "How is it, do you worship me so much?"
"Give you a little sunshine and it will be ......" Anusen sighed, and at the same time smiled, "It is indeed amazing. Compared to most mages I've seen, you're a little too fast to cast spells. ”
"I'm not an ordinary mage!" Lucina smirked, "I almost became an archmage!"
There are still nine hours left before Maharen's landing.
