Chapter Eighty-Five: New Visitors

For Barnier Hawkins, demons were a word that was very far away from his life.

Although he had heard the stories of the old guys when he was young, and had been deceived by the old men who loved to brag, he wished that he could be born hundreds of years earlier, and fight those heinous alien invaders for a hundred rounds. But as he grew up as an adult and traveled extensively to enrich his experience, he also realized that the old guys had only served as volunteer scouts in that war at best.

Hobbits, who are short in stature and not as strong as dwarves, are limited by their own innate conditions, and will never be able to become the main force against the demons in that epic war.

Even if the adventurous spirit engraved in their bones drives them to keep trying to join the epic battlefield, their own physical fitness determines their place in the battlefield. Even if they didn't care about their own safety, the commanders of the coalition forces would not let them experience those senseless dangers, and in that oppressive era, the life of every soldier was very precious!

As for the Arcanist who harvests the lives of his enemies on frontal combat, just as the elves only have the eldest princess named Loxanne Garlandia, hobbits with that kind of talent and strength are also rare.

Aside from adventure, what hobbits love most is to enjoy life. What does it mean to enjoy life? Like those elves, they feel sorry for themselves when they do nothing all day long, and meditating on art for the sake of art is not what the hobbits call "life". A hobbit life has to be full of good food, fun things, and new things!

Barnier, who has made eating, drinking, and merry-making his life creed, has finally found a foreign land where his body and soul can be sublimated!

Andrari's variety of cuisine is an eye-opener for mustachioed hobbits! What's even more surprising is that Barnier, who has just joined the club, has been qualified to help develop a new menu because of his keen sense of food. But the first thing he had to master was Andrarui's unique culinary skills.

Roasting and boiling were commonplace for hobbits, and frying, roasting, and frying, although they did not seem to Barnier to differ, the final taste of the processed food was worthy of the special distinction that His Highness had deliberately made to distinguish them. There are even more magical steaming and stewing...... He was so excited that he went crazy! There were so many tricks in the cooking method alone, not to mention His Highness's secret sauce, bacon spice secret recipe, sausages, and kimchi!

Praise to the Goddess of the Earth! Bring the magical Andrarui and the even more magical Highness André to the Whispering Forest! There is no more magical encounter in this world!

In addition to the delicious food, the wise highness also held many interesting competitions.

The dwarves' favorite wrist wrestling tournaments, weight-based wrestling tournaments, chess tournaments, archery tournaments, badminton tournaments, and even new menu development tournaments, while the prize for the champion is not particularly valuable, it is ...... It's so much fun!!

In addition to studying and working three meals a day, Barnier would go around watching very interesting "competitive games" at rest of the time. Well, that's what His Highness called it, and that's an eye-opener!

Elf's tail-chasing arrows, Horned Demon's Andrari's back-and-shoulder throws and over-the-shoulder throws, and the dazzling shuttlecock that flies around!

Barnier has already paid the trust he was sending home to the Elven Ranger who is heading north of the Whispering Forest, and it may not be two months before many of the "Hawkins" and their neighbors will be here to share in the crazy fun with him!

The hobbit with a thick red mustache would giggle to himself at the thought of his family constantly complimenting "Barnier, you're amazing."

In addition to the hobbits who just caught up with the hobbits on the day of the feast, the demons of the valley also received two special groups of guests during this time......

Rabbi is a goblin who lives in the plains beyond the Whispering Forest, and he and his tribe of goblins live by hunting lone animals and travelers. Yes, this band of uncivilized, small and savage robbers eats even people when necessary. Perhaps because of the proximity to the Whispering Forest, and the fact that other tribes did not camp on the plains adjacent to the forest because they were afraid of the elves, Rabi's tribe gradually became more and more powerful...... That is, until their confident chieftain came across a small group of minotaurs covered in black brown fur and gray horns.

The rabbin's thoughts were no different from those of his chieftain, and his own tribe numbered more than a hundred people. The tribe also has five strong bear goblins, and even feeds three fanged wild boars. What are a few honest looking minotaurs? Two of them have tree trunks taller than bear goblins, what are they?

The chief's joke succeeded in amusing most of the tribe, as if they were going to face nothing more than a few soft eggs who fed on mushrooms and grass, and what could be better than the tribe's meat-eating warriors!?

When the sky is completely dark, the stars and the moon in the sky dot the silent night. The rabbi realized how outrageous he and his chieftain had been wrong......

The huge black trunk of the tree, which everyone laughed at as "dry food", smashed directly into the two most powerful bear goblins of the tribe, and when the companions thought it was just a coincidence, they swarmed up as usual. Only then did they realize that their stone spears and wooden sticks were completely unable to deal effective damage to those strong orcs with strong muscles...... In the scuffle, it seems that some blind guy kicked the real "dry food" of the minotaurs, a stack of hay wrapped in animal skins, into the fire.

And so the frightening nightmare began......

The red-eyed minotaurs directly scattered the entire goblin tribe, and in front of their ironwood totem, whether it was a bear goblin, a fanged boar, or a goblin chief, all they needed was their full force. No one can escape the end of shattered bones and broken internal organs!

Although the tribe has not encountered such a powerful enemy for a long time, according to the previous experience of the goblins, as long as they scatter in a hurry, those powerful enemies will not bother to kill them all.

It's just that the situation today is a little different from before, and the burned "dry food" seems to have succeeded in arousing the anger of the bullheads. On the way to escape, the rabbi was targeted by a minotaur armed with a stone axe, and the goblin's two small short legs were undoubtedly no match for the tall and strong minotaur in terms of running speed, and the rabbi's enemy slashed his brother directly with an axe...... Just when the rabbi felt that he was dead, the red-eyed killer stared at the other partners around the rabbi again......

Poor Gru's right hand was broken at a terrible angle, and his chest was bruised, and the terrible blow broke the hand of the rabbi and his brother, and also injured his internal organs, causing his intermittent cough to sometimes bring out some blood foam.

In the darkness of the night, the goblin, who had been frightened, saw a direction, hugged his dying brother, and ran desperately...... Fortunately, the rabbin's thin brother was as light as he was.

It wasn't until the horizon began to turn white that the rabbi found himself running to the edge of the Whispering Forest, the land of the valley through which a crooked turquoise river passed. By the faint light of dawn, the rabbi could see what appeared to be a large house in the middle of the valley, and the bewildered goblins were suddenly caught between a dilemma.

The rabbi knew very well that he was not responsible for his brother's misfortune, and could only say that Gru's luck was far worse than his. Looking at his dying companions, the rabbi knew that if he turned back at this time, he would probably be reunited with his tribe and continue to live the usual life of swarming up at the orders of the chieftain and then sharing a little of the spoils. And his unlucky brother must be doomed to die...... Thinking of the chieftain who had been smashed to pieces by the thick logs of the Minotaur last night, the rabbi felt an inexplicable courage out of nowhere, and he carefully hugged his brother, who had already breathed more than he had taken in, and walked towards the village in the morning light without hesitation......

Then the obscene-looking green-skinned dwarf was spotted by the dwarves who got up in the morning.

When the people who heard the news surrounded the two green-skinned goblins in the middle, the rabbi's legs were already shaking. In fact, he had already begun to regret it when he approached this house, the stone house built of neat bluestone, the goblins living in the wilderness were the first time in his life.

And those who judge themselves, in addition to the rumored elves and dwarves, there are actually some guys who are about the same size as themselves...... From their words, the rabbi heard a message that almost paralyzed him on the ground in fright—the owner of this land turned out to be the legendary demons!

I'm definitely going to die this time...... He remembered that in the stories passed down by the elders, the powerful demon clan had almost succeeded in ruling over all of Garandia. Although it is not known why they became neighbors with elves, Rabi remembers that in the story, the demons were a powerful race that would feed on elves and dwarves!

A weak goblin like himself...... What else can you do with it besides eating?

I should have gone back then!

The frightened goblins can't regret it, at least the minotaurs won't eat the rabbi!
