Chapter XXIII: The Prey
Andy played with the black glass beads in his hand, his eyes shining with a faint black light.
"There's no crystal ball, it's a bit of a problem, Captain Zach should have it, but I have no reason to convince him to let him give me one. ”
Andy frowned and sighed.
The glass beads in his hand were transformed from the soul of a headhunter witch, and although Andy did not participate in the battle, he hid in the distance and sucked the witch's soul with evil witchcraft.
In Andy's opinion, he saved the witch.
After all, he wouldn't do such a thing as torturing souls, and the witch's belief in a foreign god was obviously not as polite as he was.
However, the state of this witch's soul is not very good now, Andy lacks a suitable container to contain this soul, and her soul power is dissipating, and it may not be long before it will die completely.
"It's hard. ”
Andy was a little distressed, and a faint black energy emanated from his hands, surrounding the glass beads, protecting the witch's soul.
"That's the only way to do it first, and find a way to see if you can get a crystal ball... Well, everything made of crystal should be fine, and it shouldn't be a problem to keep it for at least a while. ”
......
Early the next morning, Andy went to the deck and noticed that something was wrong.
More than twenty pirates huddled on the deck, holding muskets and scimitars, shouting excitedly.
Andy smelled gunpowder and oil in the air, and he had no doubt that the remaining twenty or so pirates were wiping the cannons in the cabin and filling them with shells.
In front of the Goddess of Despair is a pirate ship with black sails.
There were a lot of rum barrels floating on the sea between the Goddess of Despair and the sailboat, and it seemed that the pirate ship in front of it was trying to get rid of the goddess of despair and was trying to reduce its weight, and even the rum that the pirates regarded as their fate was thrown down.
Buck rubbed his hands together and stood on the side of the boat, holding a large net in his hand, salvaging rum from the sea.
"Hahaha, a group of stupid people, and not gunners, what are you doing so excited at this time?
Buck's black face turned red with excitement, and he struggled to lift the barrel up, but it was a bit of a struggle because he had caught too many nets.
"Hey, Andy, what are you looking at? Come over here and help!"
Buck saw Andy watching the bustle and shouted, "Come help me, I can give you a bucket!"
Andy walked over and helped him catch the net, using his strength.
"Aren't you afraid, big man, that the captain will be angry? ”
"Don't worry, I'll kill a few more people in a while, the captain sees me as brave and won't snatch my rum." ”
Buck snorted, he didn't know what the captain was going to do, but he couldn't bear so much rum slipping away in front of him.
With Andy's help, Buck pulls the rum onto the deck, making a total of five barrels of rum that makes Buck smile.
"Big man, what's going on now?"
Andy nudged Buck and asked softly.
Andler was organizing the sailors on deck, Roger was manipulating the rudder, and Zach didn't show up, or did he feel the need to do it himself?
"This morning we officially entered the sea area of the Endless Sea, just in time for a sea fog, and it wasn't until the sea fog dissipated just now that Hawkeye noticed a pirate ship in front of us. ”
Buck grinned, showing his teeth, which had become a little sharper, proving that he had started to get excited.
"What's the origin of that pirate ship?"
Andy looked at the pirate ship not far away, and after a while, the distance between the two was a little closer, and he believed that it would not be long before the Goddess of Despair would catch up with it.
"I don't remember that there was a pirate ship with such a skull flag in the Stormy Sea, he may be from other seas, after all, the Endless Sea is in the Central Sea, and the pirate ship here is not necessarily from the Stormy Sea. ”
Andy nodded, indicating that he understood that the brig looked just an ordinary size, and it was still a little worse than the Goddess of Despair, after all, the Goddess of Despair was already comparable to the average three-masted galleon.
Its skull flag is lowered to the middle of the mast, and the skull embroidered on it is flanked by a blood-red spear, which is supposed to be its unique emblem.
The trademark clatter sounded, the door to the captain's cabin was pushed open, and Zach stepped out softly, still carrying half a bunch of grapes in his hand.
"Captain, we're about to catch up with it, but they've lowered the pirate flag..."
Roger saw Zach appear and shouted.
Zach slowly walked up the wooden ladder, took control of the rudder from Roger, spat out a mouthful of grape seeds, and laughed, "The goddess of despair never gives up her prey, and it's useless to lower the flag and surrender, gentlemen, raise the blood-red flag!"
Pirates generally have three flags, the black skull flag symbolizes status, the white skull flag indicates that it is willing to accept surrender, and the red skull flag... It represents no forgiveness.
If you are being chased by a pirate ship with a white flag, you can lower the flag if you surrender, and raise both the black and white flags if you don't.
But if you're chased by a pirate ship with a red skull flag, you'll either be fast enough to flee or be drowned at sea.
The sails and parts of the hull of the Goddess of Despair were crafted by alchemists, and they possessed the power of the wind, which is why the pirate ship in front of her had left the resource cargo and rum and still couldn't get rid of it.
The pirates excitedly hoisted the red flag, and the goddess of despair on the flag moved to the wind, becoming a talisman for the pirate ship in front.
As the two ships drew closer, Zach's one-eyed excitement lifted his scimitar high above his waist.
The sails clangled in the sea breeze, and the goddess of despair caught up with the pirate ship.
The pirates on deck could already see beads of sweat on the foreheads of the opposing sailors, one side excited, the other desperate.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment.
Two voices rang out almost simultaneously, one from Captain Zach and the other from the ship.
"Fire!"
"Fire!"
