Chapter 10: The Battle of the Sudden Fire

Adegaland is unusually quiet in winter. The meadow outside the Angband Fence, although the edge stretches all the way to the fortress of Morgoth, in front of the Angband Gate, the setting is extraordinarily beautiful. The vegetation on the Adegaland grasslands is evergreen, and whenever the wind blows, the grassland seems to be blown by waves. If you look at it from the air, you will mistake it for a lake full of algae.

Twenty leagues wide from north to south, Adegarand is a natural barrier between Beleriand and Angban. Squads of Orcs sometimes roam the grasslands, but the army of the Noldor elves often patrol them and drive them away to prevent enemy armies from gathering up. To the west and south of the steppe is the Angban Wai.

As the end of the year is approaching, the climate on the steppe is getting colder day by day. The clothes of the cavalry units patrolling the steppes also gradually became more convenient to protect themselves from the cold. A few snowfalls had just fallen at the beginning of the month, and small patches of snow could be seen on the grasslands. The sparsely grown bushes of the grassland are also dotted with white flowers. These shrubs bloom in the spring, scatter in the summer and autumn, and come back to life in the winter with the cold snowflakes.

There was no sun in the sky, only dark clouds that pressed very low. If you look up at the sky from this endless grassland, you will feel a kind of oppression. It was an intense fear of something floating in the sky. The dark clouds were like a magnificent indescribable thing suspended in the air, ready to swallow everything on the ground with its mouth wide open.

It's 3 p.m. and it's already dark. Winters in Beleriand are short, and even shorter in Adegarand, located further north. By the time the people of Turgon, isolated in the city of Gondolin, had just begun to enjoy their afternoon tea, night had already quietly fallen. In this story, we rarely mention Gondolin, because almost no one in the outside world knows about that place, and one of those who knows is about to meet his predetermined destiny.

The two people who know the location of Gondolin are Turgon's father, Fen Guoxuan, and his brother Fengong. They were now together in an elven camp in the Adegarand grasslands. It is now the 455th year since the moon rose into the sky. At the beginning of this year, Fen Guoyu suddenly had a strong premonition. He felt that Morgoth was planning a war, and that the peace that had lasted for nearly four hundred years would soon be shattered under the protection of the Angban Siege. He believes that now is the time when the Noldor Elves are at their strongest, and they should take the initiative to take the Angban Fortress. So he no longer just sent his cavalry to patrol the Adegaland steppe, but stationed most of his army on the steppe so that he could attack at any time.

Finnish had stationed his army at the foot of the Shadow Mountains of Eried Wesling between Heslum and Adegaland Grasslands. There, beside a spring of water from Ethel Sirien, his fortress of Balad Ethel stood. But now only a small number of troops remain there. Finn's military camp was a mile away from the foot of the mountain, lined up in a long north-south direction.

In the autumn of this year, he personally visited Gondolin again to ask Turgong to send troops to the steppe like himself, but was refused. Turgon insists that it is not yet time to open his kingdom to the outside world.

In addition to this, he had sent emissaries to various parts of Beleriand's three months earlier. These include Nargoth Lund, ruled by Finrod, Tarminas Tirith, the garrison of Olodris, and the Dosonian Heights, guarded by Angrod and Agnor, and even the lands of East Bereriand, ruled by the sons of FΓ«anor.

In the same month, the messengers returned. The first to return were the messengers to Minas Tyris. Eurodris, the son of Finafin, who was stationed there, refused his request to send his army to the steppe. The messenger who returned later was the messenger to the Dosonian Heights, who also brought the news that the request had been denied.

Finn was disappointed by this, and he found that the Noldor elves had gradually lost their sense of distress in the past four hundred years of peace. It was clear to Finn that the peace they had did not stem from the fact that the Siege of Angband was truly unbreakable, but that Morgoth had not yet assembled enough troops. Now only the emissaries who went to East Bereriand, and the emissaries who went south to find King Finrod have not returned.

Finn had great hopes for a messenger looking for the sons of FΓ«anor. Because he believed that they would not forget their oaths. They had vowed to reclaim the Elven Diamond, and now it was firmly set in Morgoth's Iron Crown. He had no hope for the envoy to Nago Slund, and he guessed that Finrod would choose to close his kingdom to the outside world, just like his son Turgon.

Fen Guoyu is now walking in the camp with Fengong. The camp was also surprisingly quiet. Their soldiers were dressed in silver armor and held shields in one hand and spears in the other. The shield is carved with the family crest of the Finn family. Father and son walked between them, dressed in the same armor as they did. In addition to the elves, there are now many humans in the camp. They are all humans of the Ma Ruihe family, and they swore allegiance to Fen Guoyu a hundred years ago. Today, their people live in a land called Dorromin in Heslum. There, the wives and sons and daughters of the soldiers waited for them to return home. These human soldiers were also summoned by Fen Guoqing.

Now the patriarch of the Ma Ruihe family is Hado, a descendant of Ma Ruihe. He is now sixty-five years old. The traces of time fell on his face, but he still looked healthy and brave. He and his son Gardo were in a tent at this time. His son has the same name as Gardo, lord of the Sacred Tree family of Gondolin. Human Gardo is in the prime of life, and he is now thirty-eight years old. His wife is Harris, the daughter of Harmir, the current patriarch of the Hareth clan. They have two sons, Hulin and Juao, who is fourteen years old and Juo who is eleven years old. When Gardo was summoned by Finn along with his father, he sent his sons to the forest of Brihil, where his wife's people lived. We will mention them in later stories.

Finn and Fen Gong were walking towards the tent where Hado was. When they reached the door of the tent, Hado and Gardo bowed to them together. Two fathers and sons were silent together in this eerie silence.

"Why is it so quiet?" it was Fen who broke the silence.

Indeed, it was too quiet tonight. Before entering the tent, Fen Guoxin glanced up at the sky. The moon was not visible in the sky, and the dark clouds of the day had not yet dispersed. The pitch-black night sky gives it an eerie feel. There was a damp cold in the air, seeping through the clothes of the people and into the marrow.

Fen Guoyu and Fen Gong walked into the tent: "Is there any news on the scouts who are spying on Angban?"

Hado spoke, his voice hoarse, "The scout reported seeing a fire coming from Angban's door. It's horrible to be quiet tonight, and I suspect something might happen tonight. White vapor came out of his mouth.

Fingon nodded, indicating that he had the same hunch as him.

A messenger in a robe walked in. "High King, I have brought news of the son of FΓ«anor. He knelt down on one knee and saluted Finn, "Mezlos said he was reluctant to send troops to the Adegarand Meadows, as they didn't seem to think Morgoth would have a chance to break through the Angband Siege. ”

With that, the messenger left.

"Then the sons of FΓ«anor have either been deceived by this apparent peace and have forgotten their oath, or they have overestimated their own strength. Gardo said.

Suddenly, they heard a rumbling sound outside the tent, and the silence of the steppe was broken. They felt the ground shake, and fear took hold of everyone. The two fathers and sons ran out of the tent together. The soldiers in the camp began to run. Some of them had just fallen asleep, but were suddenly awakened by their companions who were on the vigil.

At the far north of the steppe, at the end of the steppe is the giant mountain of Sangolo Om, and beneath it lies the many tunnels of the fortress of Angban. At this time, many holes suddenly opened in the mountain of Sangolom. It was not so much artificially opened as it was knocked open by a huge impact. And it wasn't any tangible entity that struck them, but a flame of nothingness. The flames spewed out from beneath the mountain with scorching steam, and after reaching the mouth of the cave, they were condensed into fiery serpents by a strange force. A scene of a group of snakes coming out of their burrows is staged on the mountain of Sangolo Rum. The fiery serpent jumped left and right at the foot of the mountain for some distance, then fell to the ground and disappeared. The grass on the ground was ignited, and the flames rose to a height of tens of feet.

The darkness of the night was lit up by the firelight. Then a steady stream of fiery snakes erupted from the caves in the mountain, and the northern part of the grassland was gradually set on fire. And the range of that flame is gradually spreading. Only then did Fen realize that if his soldiers did not retreat, they would soon be engulfed in the flames.

"Retreat!" Finn shouted, "Retreat back to Ballard Ethel!"

Hado, father and son, and Fingon also shouted to help him deliver orders. In the light of the fire, the camp quickly became chaotic. The horses are restless. Some of the unleashed horses neighed frantically in an attempt to break free. The elven warriors whispered something to the horses, and the horses calmed down. After a while all the soldiers in the camp rode on horseback. Finn stepped onto his white horse, Lo Hallol, and stood at the front of the group. Then his army began to withdraw from the camp.

A few dozen miles behind them, at the foot of Mount Sangolo-Tam, flames spread like a prairie fire. Soon the entire central part of Adegaland was in flames. However, the fire did not appear to abate, but continued to spread southward. The fire filled the prairie like a flowing liquid. In the swaying fire, the Adegaland grasslands were reduced to a scorched earth.

Finn's army ran westward as fast as they could, attempting to run towards the fortress of Balad Ethel. If they had time to look back, they would see that their long company had been engulfed in flames. The vast expanse of tents was now on fire.

The terrain began to rise gradually, and Fen Guoyu could already clearly see the Shadow Mountains. Finn saw the spring of Ethelsirian flowing from the Shadow Mountains, the source of the great river Celestial Ryan. Right next to the spring, there is a strong fortress that stands there: Balad Ethel.

But the sea of fire did not stop its spread, and now Finn Guohan's army was only a few miles away from being engulfed in flames. At this moment, a flash of lightning streaked through the sky, and the dull sound of thunder startled the people on their horses. After a while, the sound of rain sounded on the grassland. An unexpectedly heavy rain poured over the Adegaland grasslands, and the sound of violent winds echoed. A few thunderbolts followed. Another bolt of lightning struck the mountain wall of Sangolo Tyrum with a violent explosion. Under this pouring rain, the fire that was about to engulf the army of Fen Guoyu was extinguished in an instant.

"How can it rain in such a dry winter?" asked Hadow, puzzled.

Fen Guoyu suddenly understood something, looked at the source of the Xirian River again, and laughed: "Praise the god of water, Wu Oumu!" Fen Guoyu muttered softly. The elves and humans in the army cheered as they narrowly escaped a section. But that's not all. In the midst of this frenzied rain, the crowd heard the sound of a heavy march. When Fen looked at Angban, he was shocked by the horrific sight.

Tens of thousands of Orcs poured out of the caves of Angban at the foot of Mount Sangolo-Tyrum. Leading them is the Fire Demon King, Gosmog. Gosmorg shouted something, and the Orcs behind him, much smaller than him, responded. They began to move in all directions. Among them, Fen Guoxuan saw a part of the army approaching them. It was only then that Finn realized that his hunch had come true, and Morgoth had launched an attack, and at the same time it was against the various fortresses that formed the siege of Angban.

"Prepare to meet the enemy!" Fen Guoyu shouted.

The Dosonian Heights are located in the southern part of the Angban Junction. The topography of this highland begins in the north and gradually climbs southward from the border with the Adegaland grasslands. By the time we came to the southern end of Dosonian, the altitude was already very high. At this time, the terrain plummets southward, forming a steep cliff. This sheer cliff is Eredgolos, and beneath the cliff is the terrifying valley of death infested with giant spiders, Nandon Potseb.

The shape of the Dosonian Heights is an approximate rectangle. It is bordered by the Adegaland steppe to the north and the Eredegolos of the Terror Mountains to the south, a distance of about twenty leagues. To the west of it is the Aehorias Ring Mountain, in which the white city of Gangdolin sits, and to the east is the high mountain Himrin, guarded by FΓ«anor's eldest son, Mezlos, and the pass between them is the Agron Pass. Dosonian is fifty leagues wide from east to west.

There are large pine forests growing in the Dosonian Highlands, and the woods on the west and north sides of the Highlands are more dense than in other areas. However, in the southern part of the highlands, due to the altitude, only grass and rocks remain. There is no one living there. Living in the northern part of the Dosonian Heights were the people of Angerrod and Agnor, sons of Finafin. To the northeast of Dosonian is La Delos, a land surrounded by hills. It was inhabited by the sons of Finafin to the Beo family, who had been loyal to their eldest brother Finrod.

And now, in that land surrounded by hills, the humans of the Beo family are suddenly visited by the two Anglod brothers. Finafin had four sons, Finrod, Olodris, Angelode, and Agnor. The younger two brothers often act together, and they are also close in looks. Compared to the two older brothers, their hair was lighter in gold, a sparkling beige. They are not as handsome as their eldest brother Finrod, but they are still very beautiful. They have a younger sister, Galadriel, who now lives in the land of the kingdom of Doriath and falls in love with the Sindar elf Celeborn.

They were now dressed in iron armor and walking in the land of Radlos. Sandwiched between the hills, there are many human towns. In the heart of these human settlements is a huge town hall. The current patriarch of the Beo family is Bregoras. He is a descendant of Beau. Bregoras is sixty-two years old and has two sons, 35-year-old Baragond and 34-year-old Beregunde. Balagond's daughter is Mowen and is twelve years old, while Belegund's daughter Leanne is only five years old.

Bregoras has a fifty-five-year-old brother, Balahir, and his son, who is twenty-three years old, is called Belen. He is the hero of this story. Now BelΓ©m has become a sturdy young man. He was now wandering boredly in the streets outside the town hall. Phenofin's sons, Angelrod and Agnor, made a surprise visit to them this afternoon, saying that they had something to discuss with Bregorth and Barahir. Now they're all in the town hall.

BelΓ©n looked up at the sky, and the bell tower at the top of the town hall had just struck four times. This means that it is four o'clock in the afternoon. It's already dark in the sky. But the clouds seemed to be thick, and there was no starlight and moonlight. Belen felt a suffocating breath in the air, and he felt it difficult to breathe. It was a pungent smell of gunsmoke.

"Brother Belen!" said a young girl's voice behind Belen.

Belen turned around and saw that the man who had called him was Mowen. She was wearing a black dress and looked at Belen. Although she was still young, she had a kind of wisdom that she should not have at her age. Her right hand was holding her cousin Leanne. Leanne is now only as tall as Belen's waist.

By generation, Belen is supposed to be Murwen and Leanne's uncle, but they are used to treating him as a big brother. Belen walked up to them, put his hand on their shoulders, and crouched down. "Brother Belen, are the elves here again?" Mo Wen asked, "What are they doing here?"

Belen smiled: "They're our friends." He said, "I just overheard the news that those two Elven Kings have come to us because they have been warned by the High King Fen Guoxuan. They felt that this was not unfounded, so they came to inform our people to be ready for battle. ”

Mo Wen nodded. Belen was amazed that a girl as young as she could understand these things. That's when they saw a woman approaching. It was Emedil, BelΓ©m's mother. She was already forty-nine years old, but she couldn't see the traces of time at all. Her appearance is not as feminine as most female humans, but is full of strength. She is man-like and walks very fast.

"Belen, your father is looking for you!" said Emediel, "in a hurry, get over quickly!" she said in a categorical tone. Belen left immediately. Amet Dil walked up and took Mowen's hand and led them in the other direction.

When BelΓ©m entered the gate of the town hall, he saw that Barahir and Bregoras were inside, as well as the two Angrod brothers. "Father, do you have something to do with me?" Belen began.

"Come here, Belen!" Balahir beckoned to him. BelΓ©n immediately ran to his father's side. He saw his father's gray hair, and knew that the years had begun to eat away at his father, and he felt a sadness in his heart.

At this time, there was a sudden roar outside the door. The sound continued for a long time. The listening direction should be from the north. Everyone in the hall was taken aback. Belen stood still, looking back at the door. He saw that the sky outside, which had been pitch black, was illuminated by the light of fire. If you don't know, you might even think it's the color of the rising sun. The four people who had been sitting in the depths of the hall immediately stood up and ran to the outside of the hall, and Belen followed. He saw that the sky in the north was red every day, like a piece of bronze red by flames.

Because of the hills, they couldn't see what was going on in the north. So the people in the camp haven't all reacted yet. After a while, a heavy rain suddenly fell in the sky, and white electric light flashed in the sky from time to time. Only then did the fire go out. This is not the season of thunderstorms, and Balahir, who feels strange, and his brother look at each other and walk north in the heavy rain. They climbed a hill with vigorous steps, and the flat Adegaland grassland was finally exposed to their vision. But the steppe was dark, and they couldn't see anything. Another flash of lightning streaked across the sky, and only then did he see everything on the prairie clearly.

"How could this be......" Balahir suddenly didn't know what to say to the scene in front of him.

They saw by the electric light that what unfolded in front of them was a charred desert, very different from the Adegaland steppe they remembered. What surprised them the most was that they saw that from the foot of the Sangolo Pyramid Mountains, several queues of occs stretching for dozens of leagues were lined up in long queues, winding out in three directions, east, west, and south. There was a queue that was heading towards the Dosonian Heights. The vanguard of this queue was only a mile away from here. They saw a behemoth crawling in the direction of the Aglon Pass, where the brothers Klegon and Currufins were stationed, not far to the east, but they could not see what it was in the night, and they should be more concerned about their situation now.

Angelode, Agnor, and Belen followed. Now everyone was drenched in the rain, and they struggled to open their eyes in the pouring rain and look at the approaching army. "Everybody, come here!" shouted Bregorath as he descended into the knoll. One of his nearest human generals heard it and passed the order farther south. Soon the order to assemble reached all parts of Radlos.

Belen and the others ran down the hillock. Brigoras mounted a horse and came to Angorod: "Lord Angorod, before the enemy's army arrives, get out of here!" said Brigorus.

Angrod looked at him and shook his head, then turned back and patted Agnor on the shoulder, "Brother, we can't let humans underestimate us Noldor elves today! they are fighting here, but we are going to escape?" he turned to Brygorth and said, "We will fight with you!" Brygoruth nodded. Several soldiers led the horses of the two elves. The elven brothers rolled over and came to the horse.

Balahir took Belen to the stables and rode with him on a horse. At this time, Belen's mother, Emedil, ran over, and she was still holding the hands of Mowen and Leanne: "Belen!" The rain fell on the streets and roofs of the town, making a loud noise, almost drowning out Emedil's voice. He ran up to Belen and took his hand, "Protect your father!

"I need you to do something, Emedil!" Barahir began, and Emedir stared at her husband as the rain slipped into her eye sockets, "I want you to get all the women and children out of here at once!

Emedir looked up at her husband and nodded vigorously, "I will take them to Heslum, the land of Finland! The generous High King will definitely accept our request for refuge!" With that, she turned and patted the two girls on the back, "Come with me, Mowen and Leanne!" and they left together.

Balahir watched them walk away, then turned to look at Belen behind him, "Get ready, son!" Belen nodded. Balahir flicked the reins hard, and the horses under him quickly rushed out. They walked between the armies that were gradually gathering and came back to the bottom of the hill they had just been. A group of men had gathered in front of Bregoras, about a hundred.

"Soldiers, our people have lived here for more than a hundred years! Perhaps, one day we will lose it, perhaps, one day we will witness the vigorous pine forests of the Dosonian Heights being poisoned by the enemy, but it will not be today! Today, we will fight for the land that the Noldor have given us! For Beo!" shouted Braygoth, riding on his horse.

The soldiers in front of them raised their swords and shouted. There were hundreds more people who were assembled. Bray Golass rode up the hill. The elven brothers remained at the foot of the hill, and Balahir came to them with his son. They saw Bregoras shouting from the hill, "Archers come ahead!" and out of the army below the hill came a hundred or so archers rushed up the hill. They set up an arrow on the hill and headed north.

The army of the North had now reached the northern slope of the hill. An Orc led the army standing on a boulder, dressed in pitch-black iron armor with Morgoth's insignia painted on it, and holding a thick knife in his hand. "Arrows!" shouted Bregoras, and more than a hundred arrows were fired at once, half of which successfully hit Orc beneath the hillside. Oak, who was shot, screamed and fell to the ground. "Arrows!" shouted Bregorth again, and another volley of arrows swept down the hill, successfully destroying some of the enemy. But the number of enemies was still growing, and they had the Orcs in front of them.

Beneath the southern slopes, the infantry waited for the patriarch to give the order with their swords raised, and during this time, more human armies were assembled. The archers among them immediately rushed up the hill to join their companions, while the infantry and cavalry were equally on standby under the hills. Belen swallowed as he listened to the sound of arrows and Orc's terrifying howls coming from the other side of the hill.

"Shoot the arrows!" Bregorth ordered again.

This shouting seemed to have caught the attention of the Orc leader. He looked at Bregorth, looked angry, and then raised the knife in his hand toward Bregorth, and shouted something in a language he didn't understand. His Orc army suddenly stopped advancing at the bottom of the hillside, and a group of Orc archers came out of the army and shot arrows up the hill. Due to the disadvantage of the terrain, most of Orc's arrows were fired on the hillside. But some of them did manage to fly to the top of the hillside. The human archers were shot by them and fell backwards, smashing into the human army stationed below.

Bregoras noticed that enemy arrows began to gather fire in his direction. He did his best to block the arrows with his sword, but his horse was shot, and he was thrown off his back by his horse and rolled down the hill in a northerly direction. From below, Balahir saw his brother fall down the hillside, and immediately rode his horse up the hillside. He saw Bregorath fall into the enemy's phalanx. A group of Orcs surrounded him and stabbed him to death with spears. The leader of the Orcs raised their broadswords and howled. Oak's army immediately began to advance again. They ran and rushed up the hillside.

"No!" Barahir shouted, unable to accept the fact that his family had suddenly lost its patriarch. At this time, it suddenly occurred to him that he must lead his army at once, or they would be defeated. He shouted, "Warriors of the Beo, charge!" and he swung his sword in front of him, and the cavalry waiting for the right moment down the hill began to gallop like a flood that had burst its banks.

Led by the two elven brothers, they charged in the name of Balahir. The human army was the first to reach the top of the hillside, and they rode their horses through the human archers and rushed down the other side of the hill. Taking advantage of the speed of their horses and the momentum given to them by the hillside, they charged into the midst of Orc's army. The front row of the enemy troops was knocked to the ground by them. Balahir was at the forefront of the team. He and his son behind him cooperated to kill more than a dozen enemies in a row in Orc's phalanx, and rushed straight towards Orc's leader.

The Orc's leaders were startled when they saw him approaching. As the horses came to the boulder, Barahir suddenly leaped onto the boulder, struck down the leader of the Orc, and plunged his sword into his chest. Then he immediately drew his sword and jumped down, and fell back on his horse. The horse lifted its two front hooves and charged back into the warring army.

Belen and Barahir slaughtered the Endless Orcs with all their might, but the number of enemies seemed to grow. Balahir looked around and saw that his army was dwindling. Angrod and Agnor came to his side. Angelo spoke: "Today Dosonian has fallen. Lead your people to retreat. There are countless pine forests in the Dosonian Highlands, and you can lead your people to hide from hunting in the woods. Our brother has come for you!" Agnor nodded to his brother.

Balahir listened to his words and looked surprised. He had never been to the point where the noble elven royal family would sacrifice themselves for the sake of these lowly humans. Balahir saluted the elven brothers with respect, and then shouted, "Retreat to the southwest!, let's hide in the pine forest!" The human soldiers who heard his order were also surprised. But they didn't have time to question it, because Orc's army was about to surround them. They quickly gathered their men together, and then left a gap in the southwest. Balahir followed at the back of the line. The Orcs behind them recovered to pursue them, but the elven brothers stopped them.

Balahir didn't know how long he had been running with his people, only that the terrain was gradually rising. He could see the dense pine forests on the heights. The rain gradually stopped. It was only then that he remembered to look back, and found that it was already in the heart of the Dosonian Heights. He looked in the direction of Radlos and could see the two brothers who were fighting them in the siege of the Orcs. Oak's corpses were piled up in a high mound and trampled under their feet. Balahir wanted to take the army to save them, but he accused himself of cowardice in his heart, leaving his comrades behind and becoming a deserter at the critical moment. But he knew he had to protect his people.

From afar, he saw that Angrod and Agnor had fallen in the encirclement of the Orc. A thought popped into his mind: his people were about to live a life of wandering and displacement. Tomorrow will always be uncertain for them.

He gave up his last fighting spirit and asked his army to stand still. He didn't want to run anymore because there was nowhere to go. His army remained in place until the afternoon of the next day. At this moment, he heard three bells from Ladelos. He saw it as a death knell for the Beo family, as they lost their glory overnight and were on the verge of losing their lives. Just then, he inadvertently looked northwest of Dosonian, where a group of elves were engaged in a battle with the Orcs. He guessed that they were the people of Angrod and Agnor. As he looked farther into the thick mist of the Serikh swamps on the upper side of the Syrion, he saw winged monsters surrounding a few lonely elves.

Balahir made a decision: they couldn't survive here. It's too late to go back and rescue the Angelrod brothers. But he can still make up for it. He was going to Serikh Swamp to rescue the besieged elves.

When a large number of fiery serpents appeared in the gates of Angban, the fortress of Agron had just fallen into the silence of the night. Recently, Celegon has weakened the defenses of the fortress of Agron, because too long of peace has numbed the minds of the sons of FΓ«anor. So, on this winter night, there were only a few night watchmen on the walls of the fortress of Agron. The rest of the people had already gone to bed early.

In fact, not long ago, Celegon and Kurrufin went to Simrin, because Finn sent an envoy to meet their eldest brother Mezlos and asked them to prepare for the attack, but Celegon told Mezlos that there was no need to worry about it, after all, it had been peaceful for so long, and the small attacks launched by Morgoth during this period had been defused by them one by one, and he did not think that Morgoth had the strength to start any war. But Kurufin disagrees with him, because it's always right to be careful.

Kellegong had just finished his shower and came to the bed naked. The night reflected his golden hair. Just as he lay down on the bed, he suddenly heard a loud noise from the north. He saw the sky outside the window turn fiery red. He immediately got up from the bed and quickly put on his armor. He ran quickly through the corridors of the fortress of Agron to the door of Kurufen's room. At this time he heard a thunderstorm outside the fort, and he was puzzled because it was not the season for thunderstorms. Kurufen also came out of the room at this moment. "Something happened!" said Kurufen.

The fortress quickly became noisy, and many of the sleeping warriors heard the loud noise, put on their armor and peeked out of the windows of their rooms to see what was happening. Those who lived in the northern part of the fortress saw through the windows the Orkh army pouring out of the gates of Angban. So they put on their clothes and came out of the room and began to deliver messages to the rest of their companions. Gradually, all the soldiers got up.

By this time, Celegon and Kurufen had been standing on the city wall for a long time. The Orc's army was now very close to the fortress of Agron. Knowing that it was too late for his cavalry to line up under the walls, he gathered all his archers to the walls.

But they didn't see a single behemoth that had wandered through the darkness of the night in the Orcs. It was a huge creature. It looked like a lizard that had been magnified hundreds of times, but it looked like a dragon with no wings. Its body appears to be one hundred and fifty feet long, and it is covered in inverted scales. It wasn't until another flash of lightning streaked across the sky that Kellergun could barely see the behemoth. His pupils instantly narrowed with fear.

"Glauron!" he shouted at his brother. Kurrufen looked there to make sure his brother had seen it. The heavy rain that used to wash over the entire grassland has now stopped imperceptibly. Kurufen saw the opportunity to order the archers on the walls to light a fire at the tip of the arrow, and then shoot it at the Orc's army. The fiery arrow struck Orc's body, knocking them to the ground, and their bodies were set on fire, burning the Plains of Los Blue in front of them.

The Orc's army was blocked by the flaming wall and could not advance on the north flank. By the light of the flames, Kurufen saw that on the other side of the blue of Los Angeles, the grasslands of Adegarand had been reduced to a charred black earth. At this time, Kellergun finally saw the figure clearly, and determined that it was the young dragon Graulon, who had sneaked out of the Angband fortress in 260. He remembered that Fingon had driven it back to Angban with a troop of cavalry. Now judging by its size, he could be sure that the dragon ancestor had grown. It was right in the middle of the Orc army, looking at the flames in front of it with terrifying eyes.

The Orcs on the other side, blocked by the flaming wall, began chanting the name of the Glauron. They repeated again and again, raising their weapons aloft. Glauron walked out between them, and among them was an Orc who had been trampled to death by mistake. Glaoron's feet were clinging to the Oak's entrails, and a steaming intestine hung from one toe. It came to the wall of flames, stepped directly on the flames as if it was not afraid of the flames, and stepped over. The flames scorched the scales of the Graulon, but it seemed painless. It flicked its long tail behind it and blew a violent gust of wind. Many of the Orcs behind him were blown off the ground by the hurricane and fell back to the ground from mid-air and fell to the ground into meat sauce. Many of the Noldor archers on the walls were blown down by the wind and fell to their deaths. The hurricane quickly extinguished the barrier of flames.

"Stupid bugs!" Grauron's voice resonated with the ground, "to show you the real flames!"

Kellegun saw Glauron come to the fortress, even higher than the walls of the fortress of Agron. Glauron looked down on the crowd on the city walls, which were as small as ants to him. It seemed to grin wickedly, and then opened its mouth. They saw several rows of sharp teeth in its mouth. Suddenly, a fiery red glow erupted from its mouth, peeking through the scales of the Glaudon's abdomen. A few seconds later, a burst of fire erupted from its mouth.

"Get down!" shouted Kellegon, knocking Kurufen to the ground. By the low wall erected at the outer edge of the wall, the flames slashed right above them. A fiery breath burned them. Kellergun felt the clothes on his back be completely scorched. When the flames had cleared and he got up again, he saw that the main fortress of Agron had been completely set on fire.

Grauron laughed in a majestic voice that shook the hearts of the two brothers. They looked at the rest of the wall, and saw that many of the archers had been burned to ashes by the flames of that moment, and some of the quicker ones had their clothes set on fire even though they lowered their heads. They screamed and rolled off the walls. In the raging fire on the city wall, a tragic picture unfolded before the eyes of the two brothers. The soldiers on standby in the main fort were all trapped in the flames. Some of them struggled to crawl out of the main fort, some were burned with long hair by the flames, and some were buried in the flames.

Kellergun knew that his arrogance had finally paid the price. "Evacuate the fortress of Agron!" he shouted.

"No, brother!" said Kurufen, "the fortress of Agron is very important, if we can't hold the pass, the siege of Angban will break!"

He grabbed his brother, but was slapped by his brother. "Shut up!" said Celegon, angrily, "the Angban Siege was originally established to protect the talents of the other families! Only the son of FΓ«anor can live to fulfill our oath! The safety of the other families has nothing to do with us!"

Another burst of fire erupted from Grauron's mouth. Celegon and Kurufen jumped off the wall and into the stables. The warriors of the fortress had gathered and all mounted their horses. They ran towards the south gate of the fortress. From time to time, stones fell from the main fort, killing many soldiers. A minute later, they came to the south gate. Kurufen opened the gate, and then Celegon, and Kurufin's soldiers poured out. Some of them crowded and collided with each other at the doorway, and were knocked off their horses by their own compatriots, fell to the ground, and were trampled to death by countless horses' hooves.

After running south for almost a mile, Kellegun turned to look at the Aglon Pass. He saw that the fortress had been completely engulfed in flames. Glauron climbed to the top of the fortress and roared loudly. With that roar, a strong wind suddenly blew over the plains of Himlad, and almost blew them off their horses.

The light of the sun gradually appeared in the mountains of the east, which was a harbinger of dawn. Kelegon looked far away at the top of the hill of Simrin, where his brother Mezlos's fortress had been built. He vaguely saw that it was also surrounded by Orc's army. He silently prayed in his heart that his brother would survive the event.

"Brother, where should we take our people?" said Kurufen.

"We went to Nagoth Lund to seek refuge. King Finrod is the best of Finafin's children, and he should be able to accept us and our people. Kellegun said.
