Chapter 14: Prayer of Success

When the mayor of the town talked to Fei'er just now, the content was heard by Hui Gang clearly, speaking of which, since the monk came back from the mountain with the female swordsman, he knew that no matter what, he would eventually have to go out of this town in the future, and in the outside world, it might be more convenient to have the identity of this holy church 'monk', and the memory of this life proves this.

Without much thought, Hui Gang nodded affirmatively, and agreed to this request, Fei'er not far away had been paying attention to the conversation between the mayor and Hui Gang, and from the look of his expression, he was very troubled.

When the mayor went over to tell the monk about his decision, a bright smile appeared on his face that had not completely dried up, and the loveliness and happiness immediately infected everyone, and in an instant, the people around felt as if the cemetery was lit up, and the sad atmosphere seemed to have completely dissipated.

Standing a little higher, the mayor shouted to the townsfolk who had not yet dispersed:

"It is with sadness that we remember the venerable Father Philip, whose death deprived us of a divine guide, but who did not forsake us and whose church has a new priest, who is"

The monk was sighing that the mayor, who was usually quite wooden, actually had such eloquence, but he saw the mayor awkwardly turning around and asking:

"Master, may I ask what your full name is. ”

The townsfolk present all laughed at the mayor's oolong, and even the female swordsman, who was always indifferent, couldn't help but laugh, and the mayor's face turned a little red from embarrassment.

Fleet Huigang

The monk said loudly

When the monk said this, the whole audience fell silent, and the monk, who had always appeared with a gentle image, suddenly showed a strong self-confidence, which shocked everyone.

On the third day after the funeral, the church had been renovated, and Hui Gang was supposed to continue to live next door to Daro, but at the insistence of the townspeople, he still lived in the church, of course, separated from Fei'er.

After entering the church, the monk found that although Fei'er was young, she was already a very capable girl, and she was in charge of all the daily housework.

Hui Gang has been doing these things by himself since he came to this world, and at this time, there is a person who takes care of these chores completely, although he is not happy, but he still feels a lot more comfortable.

Although it bears the name of a church, except for a slightly higher bell tower, it is only a two-hall courtyard, and the monk lives in the one where Father Philip lived, and the girl lived in another. There is a vegetable patch behind the church, and when Father Philip came to Gravel from the city, he had a small savings, but he barely managed to make ends meet. So in addition to preaching, plant some vegetables as a supplement.

The life of the church is relatively monotonous, every day Phil wakes up early and opens the door, and then waits for someone to come to confess or pray, as usual, the church's income comes from donations from the congregation, but in this remote place, naturally there is no Holy Cathar Knights in the big city to ensure the collection of taxes.

There are few people who confess, and I heard Philip say that in the past, Father Philip could still earn some money by relying on some of his medical skills as a source of livelihood, but later after Old Jack returned here from the city, the life of the father and daughter was also difficult.

Every seven days is a routine sermon, and Hui Gang also made up for a while with the canons of the Holy Church after coming to this church, but Fei'er was not ready to let him talk about it at all, and the matter was very laughable. It turned out that the ascetics of the Holy Church did not need to do this at all, and Fei'er, who adhered to the teachings, naturally would not let him do it. This made Hui Gang, who had the heart to preach Buddhism, quite disappointed.

However, since Hui Gang came to the church, Fei Er was still pleasantly surprised to find that life is much better now, first the mayor promised that the townspeople would pay a certain fee to the church regularly as a reward for Fei Er's preaching. Those young hunters also sent some game from time to time, and although Huigang didn't eat it, he could also exchange money to supplement his family.

The routine sermons, though still so many young people, were much more disciplined, and were no longer like the days when the old priest died, when some scoundrels took advantage of the opportunity, and in fact the scoundrels were sternly warned by the mayor of the town, and Terry threatened to cut down the thing in their midsts with a hunting knife if there was another thing like that.

This period of time in the church is the most comfortable period for the monk in this world, because the environment here makes him feel very similar to Shaolin, in addition to meditating and practicing every day, chanting Buddhist scriptures, sometimes going to the front church to treat some patients, and when he has nothing to do, he also tends to vegetables in the back garden.

When the first evangelistic day came, many people in the town came to the church at the persuasion of the mayor or for any other purpose.

When Father Philip was alive, because of the harassment of a few scoundrels in the town, he rarely taught Philip to go out, so there were not many people who had seen Phil, and now the girl who looks like a doll came to the stage, which naturally amazed everyone.

But when Fei'er saw so many people in the audience, she became nervous, and she stammered a little when she read the eulogy and the words of the sacred canon.

This time, the townspeople in the audience who were not willing to come to listen to the lecture were a little unable to sit still, watching the audience become more and more noisy, Fei'er felt extremely discouraged, and desperately bit her lip to prevent herself from crying.

Just as the little girl's first sermon was about to fail, a loud voice came from the backyard of the church:

"All the bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas should subdue their minds in this way! All sentient beings and the like: if they are oviparous, if they are viviparous, if they are wet, if they are incarnated, if they are colored, if they are colorless, if they are not thinking, if they are not thinking, they are all extinguished. If it is the destruction of immeasurable and countless boundless sentient beings, there are no sentient beings who have attained extinction. ”

There is a purifying holiness in the voice, and the monk is chanting the 'Diamond Sutra' in the backyard.

The agitation in the audience began to subside, and everyone felt that their hearts were extremely peaceful, although they couldn't understand it, Fei'er heard this voice, only to feel that courage suddenly filled her body, she thought that this was the courage given to her by God, the little girl clenched her hands at her chest, and said aloud:

"And God said, I will send light upon you, and I will dispel the darkness, and I will give you warmth......."

At this time, Fei'er's voice had already recovered from the hoarseness, and at this time, the elegant words and phrases in the sacred canon were read in the voice of the yellow warbler out of the valley, which complemented Huigang's solemn chanting.

All the townsfolk who heard it were solemn and chanted aloud under Fei'er's guidance

The first sermon ended successfully, and many of the townspeople prayed in front of the statue to confess themselves and pray for the blessing of the gods, which made Fei'er, who originally thought that she was going to smash the pot, very excited.
