Chapter 08: Blood Elves and Dragon Mercenary Group (2)

Led by the chief of the guard, Andrew came to a corner of the Adventurer's Hall.

It was an inexplicable protrusion, like a hemispherical body. Because the adventurer's hall has many counters, bulletin boards, and high platforms for bounties and events, and it is open-air, it looks very noisy. This inexplicable protrusion Andrew came so many times that he didn't even notice it.

Rounding the back, a staircase leading to the ground appeared in front of Andrew, with two guards standing at the door.

The chief guard walked straight down, but Andrew stopped.

"What's the matter, sir?" asked the chief of the guard, turning back.

Looking around, Andrew said casually, "It's nothing, it's just a little surprising that there is a lower floor in the Adventurer's Hall." โ€

"Of course there is, otherwise where would the customer talk about the task?"

"Talking about tasks?"

"What kind of tasks to post, how much bounty should be given. Someone has to help them get it, otherwise the customer won't understand. โ€

Andrew suddenly let out an "oh".

Lin Lรณpez's Adventurer's Guild is indeed much more developed than in the south. With such a developed industry, it is natural that there should be a set of efficient system support. After all, it is impossible for so many missions to appear in the hands of adventurers every day, and it is impossible for the adventurer's hall to just provide credibility and space.

Walking down the stairs, Andrew was greeted by an underground plaza the size of the adventurer's hall overhead, with a sign hanging on top: "Mission Hall". Unlike the Adventurer's Hall, which is open and public, the Quest Hall, is hidden.

Standing on the steps, Andrew could see that the large circular area was divided into compartments, each with its own sofa and desk, and uniformly dressed staff receiving all kinds of customers. The vast majority of the staff are humans, and the customers are of all races, including cyclops who are half-crouched higher than the walls of the cubicles.

In the middle of the circular field, a small space was vacated and a circular counter was placed. There are three human maidens in uniform at the counter. Depending on the situation, it should be a place like the information desk.

On the four walls of the empty underground plaza, there are mirror-refracted light channels, which attract daylight, so that the otherwise dark underground looks no different from the ground.

"Sir, our boss is still waiting for you. โ€

"Okay. โ€

Led by the chief of the guard, Andrew descended the circular staircase, and in the middle of the staircase, he turned to go up another staircase. The staircase leads to a room suspended from a dome. Yes, a room suspended from a dome. The room faces the wall in the middle of the mission hall, and the entire surface is made of glass. Since none of the cubicles here have roofs, there is no doubt that every move of all the people in the cubicles is clearly visible from the room.

This strange shape is extremely rare in human architecture. Of course, being in elven territory is not uncommon. Elves like to live in treehouses.

Finally, the two came to the door of the room. The two guards guarding the door held out their hands, but instead of pushing the door of the room open, they pushed open the door next to the wall. A hot picture immediately appeared in front of Andrew.

"Hasn't you heard back from the numbered 000112251071 task? The employer is in a hurry, and he needs our immediate reply!"

"No, this task cannot be given to the Red Rose Mercenary Group, and the employer does not want the relationship with the other party to be completely deadlocked. The methods of the Red Rose Mercenary Group are too fierce. โ€

"The task was to bring back fifteen jars, and now only thirteen have been obtained. Two less. These jars are a set, and none of them will work without one. They have to get the remaining two back! If they can't, they won't get a dime in commission!"

"Two magicians are missing, and it's a very serious matter. I think we should send another mercenary group, otherwise the mission is likely to fail. โ€

Countless staff members are noisy, talking, and dealing with all sorts of things.

This is a hall located in the Outer Ring, and while it is nowhere near comparable to the Adventurer's Hall and the Quest Hall, it is not small in size. There are more than a dozen rows of desks, and people come and go. At this point, of course, there are only staff, no adventurers, and no customers.

Andrew was stunned. After all, the scale behind the adventurer's hall was indeed a bit beyond his imagination. Even after a month of being here, he still hadn't guessed that there were so many people behind the adventurer's hall to keep it running.

"Sir, this way, please. โ€

Led by the chief of the guard, Andrew circled and finally returned to the hanging room. This time, though, it happened to be the opposite direction of the glass wall.

It was a dark brown wooden door, and at first glance, it was very exquisitely made. It's completely different from the rough style of the Adventurer's Guild.

Without the need for the chief guard to knock on the door, a human maiden with the desk next to them had already arrived in front of them.

The chief of the guard introduced, "This is Mr. Duru, the leader of the Blood Elves and Dragon Mercenary Regiment. The boss told me to bring him if he came. โ€

"Hello, Captain Duru. Smiling and saying hello, the girl lowered her head and opened her notebook: "Our boss is busy with something, I'm afraid you will have to wait for a while." Is that okay?"

After thinking about it, Andrew smiled and replied, "Of course." โ€

"This way, please. โ€

Led by the girl, Andrew sat down in the sofa area in front of the door of the room. There was also an orc sitting on the couch next to it. Bald, full of fangs, the size of Andrew, full of muscles, and wearing a piece of leather armor. It seems that I am also waiting, I don't know how long I have been waiting, holding a big axe, and I have started to nap.

It's a mess all around, and the staff comes and goes, dealing with all kinds of things, and they're busy. Andrew sat quietly alone. Oh no, and the girl whose desk was right in front of the room's door. It seems that it should be the boss's secretary or something, and every time she makes eye contact with Andrew, she will put on her professional smile and nod politely at Andrew.

"Is this called waiting for me? I thought it was waiting for me. Andrew smiled helplessly and said to himself, "One day I will have a group of people waiting for me outside the door." The longer you wait, the better. โ€

I waited for about half an hour before the door opened. Six or seven humans hurried out of it, led by a goblin dressed in a very luxurious manner.

Swaggering, a group of people walked in front of Andrew without even looking at him. I guess I didn't notice it at all.

"Captain Duru, it's your turn, please come in. Miss Secretary walked over to Andrew.

"Shouldn't it be his turn? He arrived before me. Duru gestured to the orc who was already asleep next to him.

"Shhhh Glancing at the orc, Miss Secretary stretched out her hand and made a silent gesture, and then whispered, "You first, please come in." โ€

Spreading his hands, Andrew slowly stood up and walked straight into the room.

I have to say that this room feels much bigger than what you see from the outside. It's probably the quest hall, so it's small. Being in the middle of it is a different feeling.

What Andrew saw was the glass wall. Standing here does have a clear view of the entire mission hall, which is clear.

In front of the glass wall, there is a circle of sofas and coffee tables. On the left wall are bookshelves full of books, and in addition to the small locked door, there is a bar in the corner with various wine bottles and other items. On the right is a desk, and a whole wall of bookshelves.

At this moment, there is only one person in the room, or rather...... A goblin.

A short and stocky build, stubby limbs, a bare, green head, pointed ears, and luxurious clothes, a thick necklace, and a ring full of hands. At this moment, he was lying on his desk with a thick cigar in his mouth, writing something.

Glancing up at Andrew, the goblin turned to look at Miss Secretary behind Andrew.

"Boss, this is Captain Duru. The leader of the Blood Elves and Dragon Mercenary Regiment. With that, the secretary introduced Andrew again: "This is our boss, Mr. Bian Turu." He is generally referred to as Bian VI. He owns four of the eight adventurer halls here. โ€

"Fortunately. Bianton VI jumped out of his seat with a cigarette in his mouth, and the head reached only Andrew's waist.

"Fortunately. Andrew smiled faintly.

Bypassing the desk, Bian VI came up to Andrew and held out a hand.

Andrew thought he was trying to shake his hand, so he reached out as well. Who knew that Bian's VI gently patted Andrew's hand, then staggered past him and walked to the sofa. It made Andrew a little embarrassed. Turning his head and looking at him silently.

Sitting on the couch, Bian VI casually said, "You can go out." โ€

"Okay. The secretary smiled politely at Andrew, exited the door, and closed the door by the way.

There were only two people left in the room, Andrew and Bian VI.

Leaning back on the sofa, Bian VI bit his cigar and asked in a slightly accented voice, "Commander Durroux needs some wine, tea, or cigarettes?"

"No, I don't need either. Andrew replied softly.

"Don't you like it?"

"Blood elves drink, but I still have a lot of things to do today, and it's not suitable. โ€

"Well, what a pity. My bartending skills, I can't find a second one in the whole of Lorraine Pace. You may be seated, Chief Durou. With that, Bian VI pointed to the sofa next to him: "Let's talk." โ€

"Yes. Andrew walked over to the couch and sat down.

Pouring the wine on the table, Bian VI began to mix himself with wine, and he looked very careful in that way. The whole time, he didn't speak, and Andrew didn't speak.

After a while, Bian VI mixed himself with wine, poured Andrew another glass of water, and then flicked the ashes of his cigarette: "Did you take the task from us with Christina do it right?"

"Yes. Andrew replied casually.

"So you're a mercenary group, right? It's just because Christina can't get a mission from us, so you signed up for another mercenary group, and you're the leader?"

Andrew smiled, looked at Bian VI quietly, and did not answer.

This was supposed to be the default meaning, however, Bian VI mistakenly thought that he was mistaken, flipped through the notebook next to him, and then said to Andrew: "Sorry, I have a lot of things to do every day, and sometimes I remember some things wrong. And the information of the people under your hands is not necessarily reliable. So, I reconfirm every time I talk about something. Please give a clear answer of yes or no, I want the exact answer, not the guess. โ€

"Yes. Andrew replied calmly.

"Okay, so it's clear to me that the information I've gotten is accurate. With that, Bian VI had already picked up his pen and ticked a tick on his notebook. Then he picked up the wine glass and took a sip of wine while looking at the notebook in his hand.

Leaning back in his chair, Andrew looked around: "This place is quite magnificent, not a bad place." โ€

"It's fine. Putting down his glass, Bian VI wrote something in his notebook with his pen, then closed it and looked at Andrew again.

"Actually, I'm surprised that the boss behind the adventurer's hall is actually a goblin, I thought it would be a human, just like your staff. โ€

"Would you be even more surprised to know that the bosses of the other adventurer's halls are also goblins?"

"Huh?" Andrew froze for a moment.

"The other two bosses are my two younger brothers, and together they own the remaining four adventurer halls. One of them just left from here, and you should see it if you're right outside the door. Taking a deep breath of his cigar, Bian VI leaned crookedly against the armrest of the sofa and exhaled a cloud of mist, then said with a grin: "Our family has been running the Adventurer's Hall in Lin Lรณpez for generations, and even all the buildings under the name of the Adventurer's Guild have been built by us, and we have also funded many famous mercenary groups. For us, there are only two things that have the greatest pleasure in life, and one of them is money. Gold, countless gold, how to look at how to make people like. โ€

As he spoke, Bian VI grinned, revealing a mouth full of smoky blackened teeth.

"It's a goblin. Andrew smiled, "What else?"

"There is also the discovery of potential mercenary groups. Stretching out a finger, Bian VI said seriously: "Attention, there is a potential mercenary group." We have no interest in the mercenary groups that have become famous, because it is impossible for us to make more profit from them. It would just be routine business. โ€

"So the second point is still gold?"

"It's not so pure, and in addition to gold, there's a sense of accomplishment in earning super-profits. Running an adventurer's hall is not just a job for me, it's a hobby. Unifying work with interests is the most perfect model for life. If I earn the same amount, I would prefer it because of my unique vision, rather than because of the natural output of the inheritance left by my ancestors. You know what I mean, right?"

"Yes. Andrew nodded.

"Christina I always had high hopes for her, at least until I was extremely disappointed in her. In the past two days, I have refreshed my hope. I've checked your records, and they're pretty good, and that's what I want to see. In a short period of time, it has built a good reputation and is very efficient. I even kind of believe that Christina has changed. Murphy...... It's the captain of the guard who brought you here. He said that you still want to re-sign with us, which makes me happy. It shows that the problems between us are being resolved, that your behavior has made a difference for me, and that Christina does not hold a grudge against me for having no choice but to revoke the agreement. So I decided to reopen the negotiations. Before I do that, though, I'd like to ask a question first. I hope you can answer seriously. โ€

"What's the problem?" Andrew asked.

Bian VI took a deep breath of his cigarette and exhaled a cloud of mist, then grinned, looked at Andrew with a grin and asked, "Who are you?"
