The legend of Medusa in Greek mythology
Medusa was originally a beautiful maiden, she also had two sisters of fairy blood, she was the only mortal of the three gorgons, with a deadly seductive eye in legend, who lived in the far west, and was the daughter of another unknown sea god Phocus.
Poseidon, the god of the sea, was tempted to incarnate as a horse and cheated with her, in order to escape the jealousy of Amphiquti after the god of the sea, and hid in Athena's temple hey~ Hey, this move angered Athena, and Athena in anger was angry with her two sisters, so the three sisters became monsters.
Another theory is that Medusa was once a beautiful maiden who was robbed of all her beauty by the goddess of wisdom for boasting that she was prettier than Athena, leaving her with only an ugly monster body. They were covered with golden scales, with eagle wings on their backs, and Medusa had swan wings on her back, and there was no hair on their heads, only twisting and writhing snakes, but it was still difficult to hide her beauty, and anyone who looked at her eyes would be attracted by her beauty and magic and lose their souls and become a stone statue.
People called them Gogo, and no one knew where they lived.
When Perseus was about to set off to find the Gorgon, a friendly old fisherman by the sea, who turned out to be the embodiment of Athena, offered to help him and lent him a few treasures. The treasures she lent to Perseus were: a pair of flying shoes from the god Hamis, a hat that Hades could steal from wearing, a leather pouch that could be stretched and retracted at will and could not be worn by any beast of prey, and a diamond sword with a sharpened iron of clay, and Athena lent him her shield. The goddess instructed him that in order to defeat Brother Gao, he must find the three Gray Lady.
Cindera is the sister of Brother Gao, who lives at the western end of the sea, they are very old from birth, and the three of them take turns sharing an eye and a tooth, and only they know where Brother Gao is and how to defeat him. Perseus went to Cinder's dwelling and hid, snatching the eyes from one of them while they were taking them off and giving them to the other. Perseus threatens to crush his eyes if they don't tell him how to defeat him. In desperation, Cinderella had no choice but to tell Perseus.
Perseus followed Cinderdale's instructions and came to the island where the elder brother lived. He used Athena's shield to illuminate the correct position of the three sisters, and while the three of them were asleep, he slowly retreated to Medusa's side, cut off her head with a sword, and put the head in a leather bag. At this time, the other two elder brothers woke up, saw their sister tragically dead, and wanted to find Perseus, the murderer who killed her, but unfortunately Perseus put on an invisibility hat and put on flying shoes, and the two elder brothers could not see him, and he also left smoothly with Medusa's head. The blood that flowed from Medusa's neck suddenly came out of the smoke screen, and a winged Pegasus flew out, this is Pegasus Pegasus, and the giant Chrysa Orr also came out after Berseus left, they are all descendants of Poseidon.
Perseus rode back with a leather bag containing Medusa's head, and when he passed by the coast of Ethiopia, he saw a beautiful woman who was naked and tied to the shore with iron, looking very pitiful. Perseus then went over and asked. It turned out that she was the princess of the country, called Andromeda, and her mother loved vanity and conceited beauty, and boasted to people that she was more beautiful than the fairy of the sea, Nelly, and did not allow the people to worship the fairy of the sea but wanted to worship her, so she offended Poseidon, the god of the sea, and the god of the sea caused a tsunami to flood the land of the country and destroy the people's houses, and the only way was to sacrifice her daughter Andromeda to the sea monster for food, otherwise there would be a greater disaster to fall on Ethiopia.
When Perseus found out about the whole thing, he promised to defeat the sea monster for her and save her from here. Suddenly, there was a loud rumbling sound on the sea, and the waves parted, and a sea monster with a pitch-black head and a tail in the shape of a trident rushed towards the hanging shore where they were located at great speed. Perseus put on his flying boots and took a sword as sharp as clay, and jumped into the air to attack the sea monster. He stabbed the sea monster with his sword, after which he removed Medusa's head from the leather pouch and turned the sea monster to stone. Perseus took Andromeda back to the palace in Ethiopia, where they were warmly greeted by King Sipes and Queen Cassiopeia, who were very grateful to Andromeda for saving their daughter and decided to marry their daughter to Andromeda.
On the day of their grand wedding in Ethiopia, Andromeda's original fiancé, Phineus, led an army to cause trouble, resenting the king's breach of the marriage contract. But King Sipes said, "When your fiancée is in trouble, you will only hide in a safe place, but the heroic Perseus saved her with all his might, he is the one who really cares about Andromeda, and you are not qualified to be her fiancé!"
Perseus, of course, could not resist the whole army, so he cried out, "If it's my friend, don't look at it!"
As he spoke, he took out Medusa's head and turned all his enemies to stone. Andromeda refers to the image of the beautiful princess Andromeda tied to a rock in chains ready to be sacrificed to the sea monster, while the Immortal Throne refers to King Sipes and Cassiopeia is Queen Cassiopeia.
After Perseus and Andromeda were successfully married, he returned to Cyprus with his new wife. Knowing that King Polydetex had forced his mother Dana to marry, she refused to do so, so she imprisoned her.
Perseus was furious and immediately went to the palace to find Polydeticus. Polydetex was having a feast with his ministers at this time, and when he saw Perseus returning intact, he immediately showed a look of displeasure, saying that Perseus did not kill Medusa at all, but was so frightened that he fled back.
Perseus opened the pouch and said, "If you do not believe, see with your eyes."
He lifted Medusa's head aloft and turned everyone to stone. The people wanted to proclaim Perseus king, but he wanted to return to his native city of Argos, so he gave up the throne to his adoptive father, Diktis, and returned with his mother and wife. Knowing that his grandson had become a famous hero, Arcrisius, the king of Argos, was so frightened that he left the city of Argos and hid.
Perseus sailed back, but the strong winds caused them to deviate from course, and they arrived in Thessaly, a neighboring city of Argos, where a large tournament was being held, and Perseus was enthusiastic about it. When he threw the discus, he threw it so hard that it fell into the audience, and he stoned an old man who was Axrisius, the king of Argos, who had wanted to take refuge here, but died at the hands of his grandson. The oracle was finally fulfilled.
Perseus held the head of Medusa in his left hand (that is, the Great Tomb Five), held a sword in his right hand, and wore flying shoes on his feet. (Note: Ethiopia is not present-day Ethiopia, but a dynasty on the north coast of Africa.)
Gorgon's blood, though poisonous, possessed special powers, giving Erictoonas (see Erichthonius) the ability to bring the dead back to life. Perseus killed the sea monster Setus (see Cetus) with the severed head of Medusa, and when he returned, he gave the head to Athena, who attached it to the center of her shield/breastplate. The heads of the three Gorgonian sisters were often used by artists on symbolic coats of arms, architectural ornaments, and even on Athenian coins, as well as on soldiers' shields.
In Greek legend, "Gorgon" is the collective name for the three sisters of the Serpent Woman, including Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa. Of the three Gorgons sisters, only Medusa is mortal, and her sisters Essina and Yuri Ellie are demons. Perseus took care of his youngest sister Medusa, and the other two sisters had the superpower of immortality, so no matter how many times Perseus slashed and killed, they would never die, and in the end Perseus had to give up and flee quickly. While escaping from Medusa's two sisters, Perseus was attacked by a strong wind in the air, and was blown to shake from side to side, and the blood dripping from Medusa's head fell into the Libyan desert, becoming a poisonous snake.
