Now, disappointed, feeling that there is nothing to ask for, feeling empty, melancholy, and sad that she has no way to suppress herself or to tell, she left the Buddha and stood outside the door in a daze, weeping bitterly!

At this time, the Buddha's attendant, Venerable Ananda, happened to come in from outside the door and saw the Buddha's aunt, standing outside the Buddha's door, weeping sadly. Venerable Ananda has the softest heart, but he has not yet attained the Arhat Fruit, and his thoughts about the Buddha are even more unfathomable, but the facts in front of him make him very sympathetic. He approached and asked why he was weeping, and he said to her, "Aami, don't be sad. You wait a while, let me go and ask the Buddha for you to try it again. ”

Venerable Ananda respected the Buddha very much, and the Buddha also loved Venerable Ananda very much, and he often served on the Buddha's side, so it was more convenient for him to speak, especially when he thought that the Great Love Dao was the Buddha's aunt, and in terms of the kindness of raising the Buddha, it was also equivalent to the Buddha's mother, so he thought that the Buddha should allow the Great Love Dao to become a monk. But after he bowed to the Buddha, he also asked the Buddha with skill: "World-honored One, I would like to ask you a question: Is there a woman who has become a monk in Buddhism? Is there a woman who has been ordained in Buddhism and who has been able to practice pure Brahma and attain the four shamas after being ordained in Buddhism?

What about the holy fruit?"

The Buddha knew that the intention of Ananda's questioning was to intercede for the great love path, but the Buddha still told him truthfully: "Yes, yes, in the days of the Buddhas in the past, there were four groups of disciples, that is, men became monks, women became monks, men and women, who became monks in the Dharma, and practiced in the Dharma, they can attain the four kinds of shamun holy fruits, from the first fruits of pre-flow to the arhats of the four fruits of renunciation, men and women are equal." As for the men and women who study Buddhism at home, that is, Upasai and Upasa, if they practice the Dharma, in addition to not having arhat fruits, they can attain the three holy fruits, from the first fruits to the three fruits, men and women are also equal. ”

After listening to the Buddha's teachings in silence, Ananda then said, "In that case, can the World-Honored One also allow women to become monks?"

When the Buddha heard Ananda's request, he looked very serious, and the Buddha said, "Ananda, don't meddle in your affairs, don't ask for a woman to become a monk in my Buddhism, don't create an unfortunate fate for Buddhism." You must know that if women are allowed to become monks, my Dharma will not be able to live in the world for a long time, and the time for which the Dharma will live will be reduced by 500 years. After allowing a woman to become a monk, there must be many women who want to become a monk.

For example, if there are many boys and girls in a family, the family will certainly not prosper, and it will be difficult to prevent thieves from stealing and harming them. Ananda! It's like a farmer's family, when the seedlings grow and the grain is ripe, they are suddenly blown by a strong wind and hit by hailstones, and the losses are bound to be heavy; a woman's ordination is also unfavorable to the Fa-rectification. Ananda: It's like harvesting a garden that is about to ripen, and suddenly suffering from diseases and insects, the harvest must be very poor; So, you don't intercede for women. ”

"Yes, World-Honored One. Venerable Ananda then went on to advise the Buddha: "Although a woman's ordination is not good for the Dharma, the Great Love Dao is the great benefactor of the World-Honored One, and after the Buddha's mother dies, all the Great Lovers will raise the World-Honored One.

"Ananda, your words are good. The Buddha continued: "The path of great love is indeed as kind to me as a mountain, but I am not unaware of repaying my kindness, for the sake of the fate of the Dharma as a whole, for the sake of the Dharma to live longer, and for the sake of a longer process of attracting more sentient beings to believe in the Buddha and learn from the Buddha, and to embark on the path of liberation, so I cannot follow my personal feelings and give up more sentient beings.

At the same time, from the perspective of Buddhism, there is no reason not to repay the kindness of one's parents. If we are ordinary people, even if they bear their parents on their shoulders, after a hundred years, they will not be tired, and they will not be able to repay the great kindness. Therefore, in Buddhism, the most important thing is to enable parents to believe in Buddhism, to see the Four Noble Truths, and to embark on the path of liberation from birth and death. However, I have made the Great Love Dao in the process of hearing the Dharma, knowing the Three Jewels, taking refuge in the Three Jewels, receiving the Five Precepts, understanding the Four Noble Truths of suffering, concentration, extinction, and the path, and having attained the pre-flow of the first fruits, and she will be liberated, so I have repaid the great kindness. ”

"Yes, World-Honored One. Although Venerable Ananda felt that the Buddha's refusal to allow a woman to become a monk was very reasonable after listening to the Buddha's teachings, when he thought that the great love was still weeping outside the door and waiting for his good news, he could not help but muster up the courage to plead with the Buddha again and again, and he said: " According to the Buddha's teachings, all Buddhas in the past had four groups of disciples, so may the World-Honored One also allow women to become monks like the Buddhas in the past, and since women who have become monks and received bhikshuni ordination, they can attain the highest attainment of the Arhat Fruit like the Bhikshus, so may the World-Honored One also give them a chance to attain the Four Fruits. ”

The Buddha did not forbid women to become monks, nor did he despise women, but only for the sake of the future of Buddhism. Now, after repeated pleas from his favorite attendant, he had no choice but to agree, but in order to save Buddhism from its rapid decline, he had no choice but to make eight rules for women who were ordained, called "Eight Prohibitions Against Breaking the Law," also known as the "Eight Respectful Laws."

The Buddha instructed Ananda to convey to the Great Love Path that if they obeyed the eight rules, they would be considered bhikshunis. The Buddha did not want a woman to go to the Buddha to shave her ordination in person, and the Buddha did not allow a bhikshu to ordain a woman in order to prevent the ridicule of outsiders, nor did the Buddha personally ordained a woman, but made 500 women, including the Great Love Dao, become ordained according to the Eight Respects.

He nodded, and continued to point to a Buddha in the distance and asked, "I don't know who that one is?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva suddenly stood up and said: "This is nature, this Buddha is a Buddha of many treasures, a person of the Buddha, do you think it will be here to help Taiyuan?"

Shakyamuni was able to teach the Bodhisattva Dharma with equal wisdom and speak the Lotus Sutra to the public. ”

When the four brothers heard this, they were all overjoyed, got up from their seats, and respectfully clasped their palms. There was a great joy that the Bodhisattva knew the doubts of the four people, so he asked the pagoda and the origin of the sound on behalf of the great love. So the Buddha told him:

There is a whole body in this pagoda, which is the immeasurable billions of monks in the past in the east, the name of the country is Baojing, there is a Buddha in it, and it is called Duobao. When the Buddha practiced the Bodhisattva Path, he made a great vow: "If I become a Buddha, after the extinction, in the land of the ten directions, there is a place where the Lotus Sutra is said, my pagoda and temple, in order to listen to the scriptures, appear in front of it, in order to prove it, praise and praise the good." When the Buddha had attained enlightenment, he told the bhikshus among the celestial beings, "After I have attained enlightenment, those who want to make offerings to my whole body should erect a great pagoda." ”

Its Buddha with the power of the will, the ten directions of the world, everywhere, if there is a person who says the "Lotus Sutra", the pagoda of the other is pouring out of front of it, the whole body is in the tower, praise: "Good, good!"

Dale said that the Bodhisattva knew that the Buddha had great divine powers, and asked the Buddha and said, "World-honored one, we disciples would like to see the body of the Buddha with many treasures. Buddha Shakti said, "The Buddha made a great vow that if he wanted to see his Dharmakaya, he had to gather together the doppelgangers of the Buddha who spoke in the ten worlds. As a result, a white light came out from between the eyebrows of the Buddha Buddha, and he saw countless Buddha countries and Pure Lands, countless doppelganger Buddhas saying the Dharma, and countless billions of Bodhisattvas filling all the countries to speak the Dharma for everyone. When the Buddhas of the Ten Directions learned of the Buddha's summons, they each told the Bodhisattvas, "I should go to the Buddha's place in the Mother-in-law's world, Shakyamuni Buddha, participate in the Lotus Festival, and make offerings to the Bodhisattvas." ”

When Shakyamuni saw that all the doppelganger Buddhas had come to assemble, they sat down on the Leo seat and heard their hearts pleading to find the pagoda. So he got up from his seat, soared in mid-air, and the four disciples stood up and clasped their palms, contemplating the Buddha with one mind. So Shakyamuni Buddha opened the Seven Treasures Pagoda with his right finger, and made a loud sound, such as closing the key to open the big city gate. Even when all the congregations are in the pagoda, they see Duobao sitting on Leo in the pagoda, and the whole body does not disperse, as if entering meditation. Shakyamuni Buddha, say the Lotus Sutra quickly, and I came here to hear it. ’”

When the four disciples saw the ancient Buddha who had already perished in the past for countless eons of eons and said such praises, they were all amazed by this unprecedented sight, and they sprinkled flower petals on the bodies of the two Nyorai. I saw this time:

The Buddha is in the pagoda, divided into half and Shakyamuni Buddha, and said: "Shakyamuni Buddha, can be seated." Immediately, Shakyamuni Buddha entered his pagoda, sat on half of it, and sat on his knees.

After listening to Guanyin's explanation of this multi-treasure Buddha, I still have some understanding of the catastrophe, but I just don't know why the Buddha sent people over at this time instead of before! After all, this heavenly realm is the time to employ people, and it is impossible for the Buddha not to know in advance, so this Buddha is really too calm and calm!
