Section F, Chapter 39: The Big Guard (Cyberdart)
"It's no surprise that Lusha can see through invisibility. With a helpless snort, the knight picked up the mad dog and put it on his shoulder: "Invisibility, teleportation, and replication as high-level spells are already rotten in this place of Neverwinter. β
"I've heard about it, too, and it's all over the place. Wiping away the frost from his eyes, the elf thought for a moment and put forward his opinion again: "Moreover, it is likely that they are all from the same powerful mage. β
"I know, Black Ice Mage. How many intrigues and armies this damn bastard has, I don't bother to think about. The tone was unusually tired, and the knight looked a little old for a moment. His white hair stood out in the blue light of the cold moon, revealing the consequences of the man's overwork in the first half of his life: "Actually, there is a guy named Denord who thinks there is not just one black ice mage, but two. β
"You mentioned this guy named Denor, and he seems to have impressed you. Hearing this, the elf suddenly became interested, and the whole person was much more energetic after dispelling the sleepiness: "This statement seems to be quite interesting, what's going on?"
"Do you think it's time to tell a story?" The tone suddenly quickened, and the knight raised his neck and motioned for the elf to look up: "Lusa has already flown far away at this moment, you go after her first, and then I'll tell you slowly when you go back to Cold Snow Castle." β
"Yes, sorry. With a relaxed smile to cover up his gaffe, Cyberdat sighed in his heart: Damn, whenever he encounters something new, he always wants to figure it out as soon as he encounters it. When will this problem be fixed?
"Oh yes. Just as the elf was about to leave, he suddenly remembered something else, and turned around and asked again, "This guy ...... I think I'm resting in the grass, right? Why are you here now? β
"I was wondering, too, that Luca had told her sister to keep an eye on the mad dog and not let him run blind. Frowning, the knight looked away and looked at the man with an incomparably complicated expression: "But...... It's normal for him to insist on coming, because this guy is the type who wants to be strong as long as he can still move. Previously, he had gone north to ambush the woods and intercepted the enemy with throwing knives. β
Oh, that's really him...... Although there had been some speculations before, after it was really verified, Cyberdat was really a little surprised. Looking at the unconscious man with an approving look, the elf couldn't help but feel respect: beautiful blind shots and accurate ambushes, this guy actually did these things with his weak body at the time. It's really respectable.
However, the above superb skills made the fact that he was attacked extremely ironic...... Surprised at why the mad dog hadn't noticed the enemy's presence in the slightest, the elf looked around and blurted out, "Mr. Reano, have you noticed?" There are no footprints left by the sneak attackers here, they are all weeds mixed with snow. β
"I did, but I wasn't surprised. Absentmindedly throwing down these words, the knight held the mad dog in his arms, and walked to his horse with one foot deep and one foot shallow: "I have to take the mad dog back to Cold Snow Castle, and as soon as he is settled, he will come back to help." This guy is a bit hypothermic and can't stay outside anymore. β
"You should take care of him there, and by the time you get back, the battle will be over a long time ago. Looking at the knight's distressed expression, Cyberdart shook his head helplessly: "Aren't you at ease with me? β
"I didn't mean that. Lucina should still be in Snowcastle, just let her take care of this guy. Putting the mad dog on his horse, the knight busied himself with the belt in the saddle: "I will be back as soon as I can, Ranger...... Let's go. It shouldn't be too late to catch up with the five soldiers I brought with me. β
No, it's obviously too late...... Nodding, the elf turned around and tried to run away. At this moment, however, the knight's deep voice sounded from behind him again: "Are you going to run? β
"Heh, that makes sense. Giving up his original plan to run on two legs, Cyberdat pressed the brim of his hat to hide his slightly embarrassed expression. Just as he had untied the horse's leash, he looked back at the knight again: the two had already disappeared at the end of the street at a gallop on their horses.
As soon as the trampling of the horse's hooves had completely disappeared, the elf completely loosened the rope hanging from the horse's chew, rolled over with his hand on the saddle, and landed lightly on the horse's back. Habitually patting the horse's head to exchange feelings, the elf clamped the horse's belly hard, and the mount turned around and galloped up the avenue.
Following Lusa's flying direction, the elf quickened and got closer and closer to the girl. Less than two kilometers away, he suddenly ran into a dead end, blocking his path.
Damn, it's still easier to jump off the beam at a high place, at least you won't get lost...... Immediately turning the horse's head, the elf prepared to turn back to the junction and take another path. However, when he looked up again to locate Aya, there was no girl in the sky.
After a moment, I was lost, could it be!!, frowning, the elf quickly recalled the girl's location when she had last seen Lusa: not far to the southwest. Maybe she saw the enemy hiding in some tunnel, so she hurriedly landed. In this way, you can explain the scenes you missed from seeing.
The guards must have noticed it and rushed over there, and I had to do it as soon as possible...... Pulling the reins tightly, the horse strode into another road crossing with a neighing sound. After scurrying two streets in general directions, the elf finally saw what struck his eyes: many soldiers were blocked in a clearing. At first glance, the place is full of candlelight, as if it is a grand open-air party.
"Hey, you wait. Just as the elf jumped off his horse to approach the crowd, a stout guard suddenly stopped him and stood in front of the elf: "What about you, sirβthis side is not allowed to approach at the moment." β
"I'm a ranger who came to help, and I'm not an idler. Looking at this two-meter-tall man, the elf suddenly felt funny: "I also helped out when I was fighting in the woods before. You're not going to stop me now, are you?"
"What? What are you talking about?" the soldier looked completely unintelligible, and the soldier frowned, puzzled.
"You don't understand it. β
