Chapter 150: The Third Wave
Zach stood on the wall and waited, looking melancholy at the interior of the island with a sense of Djavo. Next to him stood Ogras and his three generals. Namzais was surprised to hear that the monster had arrived at the power station.
He was even more shocked to learn that she had been killed by Alya on Ogras's orders. Zach immediately called an emergency meeting between the three of them, and it took an hour to finally figure out the truth of the matter. Ogras is physiologically barely able to give a definitive answer, and Alea refuses to reveal anything that Ogras doesn't have.
Hearing that the sour-faced demon was so far away that he was going to kill him in his sleep before he even knew it knew it was going to kill him left Zach restless and unable to sleep all night. He knew that Namith was not one of his biggest fans, but he didn't know that it had reached the point where he wanted to eradicate him. Zach understands Ogras's actions, and Zach also believes that it shows that Ogras is a long-term participant, but it also means that they have lost one of their best fighters and leaders in the third wave.
Ogras looked unusually angry as he chewed on a piece of jerky next to him, which was inconsistent with his personality. Demons usually put on an annoying smile no matter what the situation, so it was kind of comical to see him trying to vent his anger on a piece of dry boar.
"What's wrong with you? Your courtship didn't go as planned?" Zach asked, glancing.
The demon roars and throws the food against the wall, telling Zach that he hit the bull's-eye.
"You know what?" Ogras asked, looking at Zach angrily. "That kid at least did. ”
"You know?" Zach asked, genuinely confused.
"Emma Machar is a damn lesbian. She's dating the mediocre-looking guy in the government. All efforts were in vain," the demon roared.
"Really?" Zach asked, smiling a little. "I don't know. How did Emily know? Emma told her?"
"Obviously, before your worlds merge, there were all sorts of rumors," the devil said, his frown deepening as he took out another piece of meat.
Zach found it all interesting, but he was also a little confused. Emma moved here to escape the government, but also dated one of their high-ranking officials. Didn't Julia know about the disgusting things Ogras just mentioned?
It seems that Greenworth's slavery was not an isolated incident, but a kept secret, with only a handful of people like the mayor making public appearances. Important people can ignore the rules, even basic human dignity, as long as they can provide adequate welfare for the government. The reason Emma wants to leave the government is that some celebrities get private slaves, and some even have children.
Those people were the same people that Ogras was killing people at night, and Zach thought it was the best when he learned about it. He didn't want to have anything to do with those who had fallen. The important part is whether these actions are supported by the government at large, or whether a small faction within a splinter organization is acting in this way.
He intends to get to the bottom of the matter by interrogating Julia, although he doesn't want to waste time and energy when the waves hit. It could also prompt Emma to get into trouble, and he would rather wait until he gets the title of lord.
"I think it's great. At least I don't have to keep poisoning her while she's living in your yard," Aalya interjected suddenly, pulling Zach out of his head.
"What?" Zach asked, turning around and glaring. "What did you do?"
"What's that look like? I just sprinkled something to get her running, feeling a little bloated and feverish. "I'm not in the mood to roll in the sack," said the Poison Mistress with a laugh. "She thought she had tropical fever. ”
When Zach heard Alaya's confession, he couldn't help but snort. Two days ago, he avoided the movie star as he mentally prepared for the third wave, hoping to improve himself as much as possible. He is primarily focused on incorporating his Evolution Knife into his fighting style and trying to get a second seed upgrade.
The first part went well and he felt he now had better control over the heavy middle seeds. After consolidating his insights, he was able to expand his dojo with psychic appendages, and the area of his dojo was also almost doubled. Unfortunately, things aren't going well when it comes to his meditations, and his other seeds are still in their early stages.
"Stop poisoning our people," Zach just said, then turned to look out of the wall.
"Yes, dear," Aalia replied with a wink.
Invasion Master (Unique): Closes or conquers the invasion and protects the town from other factions for 3 months. Rewards: 5 E-rank Relationship Crystals, towns upgraded to cities, and status promoted to lords. (23)[00:00:08:44]
Zach glanced at the menu in a hurry, checked his troops one last time, and closed the menu. This time, it's not just him and the demon on the wall who are waiting for the waves to arrive.
The Valkyries were ready and replaced their spears with bows. Few of them are good marksmen, although most of them now have improved their shooting skills. Of course, if there's a sea of monsters under the wall, people probably don't need to pinpoint it.
There was also a group of tinkerers from Coatstown, who seemed to be the most excited of the group. They stood next to two newly installed cannons for the final adjustments. Zach could only shake his head when he saw that several of them were actually talking to the cannon, attracting strange glances from nearby demons.
When he first meets the Artisans, Zach thinks Basso is throwing his town's madmen to Port Atwood to get rid of them. Most of the fur on their limbs has been burned. The most important thing is that there is a burning madness in their eyes, which exudes a very unsettling feeling.
But Zach soon realizes he's wrong when he sees them installing one of their cannons on his wall. They are very skilled in their work.
The tinkerers don't care at all about the variety of species that walk on the island, but instead focus on the various technologies available. They are shocked by human gadgets like computers and cars, but they are clearly more concerned about system-related things, which Zach thinks is the best. This group, in particular, is primarily concerned with weaponizing relational crystals and turning them into bombs, and it is their experiments that make them look like this.
Zach felt a bit sorry that he couldn't introduce them to Carbone, the creator foreman, because he thought they would get along well. Zach understood why the orcs were so excited. They saw the third wave of the beast as an opportunity to test inventions in the field.
Finally, a detachment of about a hundred Zhix fighters also stood by the wall, oblivious to everything around them. Standing with them was Ibutepu, who had replaced his large backpack with a bundle of wooden javelins with steel needles of equal size. After Ibutepu's proposal, the cheese had already been taken from the island, and the Pope agreed, although the oversized cheese itself remained in the hive.
Civilians stayed in makeshift towns within the walls, and some volunteered to help them with various tasks. Those who volunteered were mainly people from the surrounding islands, who had been constantly exploited by wild beast accosting. Experts in New Washington heard that the town was about to be attacked, and some even demanded that it be returned.
Zach ignores the voices and tells them that in the multiverse, being attacked is the norm and there is nothing to be angry about. Julia originally wanted to fight, but at Ogras's suggestion, she was put under house arrest in the wave. There is no need for government officials to have a full picture of the powers of Port Atwood.
This is the last wave and the last chance to earn contribution points. Many demons have persisted until now, hoping to get enough money to buy more valuables. People have no reservations about this wave and may even show hidden cards just to get themselves up the contribution ladder.
There's also the rivalry between Zach and OGras. Zach amassed more than 80 million contribution points during the wave, while Ogra only had 59 points. The general consensus was that Zach would stay ahead of the pack in the final wave, while some staunch supporters of the Demon Lord insisted that Ogras had held out until now and was ready to burst into action.
Zach personally doesn't care about any of that. He only hoped that he would finish the wave soon so that his plans with the Teleporter would not be in vain. Of course, he now has a backup plan.
If the tide isn't over yet, the deadline is approaching, he just needs to step over the portal, grab John Bernard, and go back. He would have liked to avoid this because it could lead to retaliation from the government, but as things unfolded, Zach felt that it didn't matter. This is nothing but another act of aggression.
Time passed slowly, and everyone was waiting for the news from the portal this time. With less than a minute left, Zach suddenly heard a familiar voice in his head.
[Special Challenge Activated.] To be a world leader, you need to have the strength to defeat any invaders. Adjusted rewards. ]
Zach groaned and looked around, as if he was the only one who heard the voice. Ogras saw Zach's strange reaction and raised an eyebrow.
"What's going on?" the demon asked, but Zach didn't have time to explain when three huge pillars suddenly appeared.
Each pillar is much larger than the previous one, which reminds Zach of the invading columns. However, the pillars are different both from the sinister red pillars with whom he has lived for a month, and from each other.
One of the pillars is a sickly turquoise color that looks like ghosts or ghosts revolve around it. Zach immediately remembered the intelligence report he had received from OGras. The section on various forces also mentions invasions.
The appearance of the invasion itself is different, depending on who controls it, and the turquoise one clearly fits the description that the invasion belongs to the undead empire. The second is pitch black, and Zach feels like he's looking at a black hole when he stares at it.
Zach tried to figure it out, but couldn't remember any of the troops in the intelligence correspondence with such an intrusion. This most likely means that it does not belong to some large army. This does not mean that it belongs to a weak force, but a smaller one, which is not included because of the low probability of encountering them. Neither the weak nor the weak have enough strength.
The final invasion is a multicolored gold and red. If it were just a shiny golden Zach would think it belonged to a church because it radiated a divine light. However, the blood-red blend gives a more sinister feel, and it infects any pure golden sheen.
"What's going on?invasion?" Ogras muttered, and many demons looked confused.
"I got a mission update from the system," Zach admits with a sad face. "It's about me that I need to defeat the power of the invaders to become a leader. Maybe it doesn't feel like the ordinary challenge is annoying enough?"
Suddenly, a loud bang was heard. This is Genos, who is once again standing in control of the crystal ready array. A huge fractal appeared on it, and any light from the crystal vanished. Zach quickly opened the city management menu, and when he saw the information inside, his sour face turned into a complete grimace.
". ”
If she knew humans, they would most likely use it to bomb the capitals of other kingdoms. She couldn't help but snort, the idea was morbidly ridiculous to her. Elija sighed and looked up again, thanking the people who had brought her into this world, she now had the freedom to choose what to do and what the to say, without any idea of social constraints or money. If she doesn't have food, she can hunt for it, and if she lacks the strength to fight people, she can simply get it. If she chooses to live underwater, she will probably only grow gills. I wish I had gills. She thought, remembering the training she had vowed to continue. She and William drowned and escaped.
She tried to spin around the snow with her gray arms as she thought about her problems and found that every minute was getting easier. She had previously modeled entire cities out of her ashes, and moving them in spider-like fashion wasn't the hardest thing to do. At least if she's fully focused. Considering the reason for this ability, she could not find another answer, except for her state, in the form of ashes and ashes. Both of these skills are body-enhancing spells that increase some of her attributes, such as strength and resilience.
She doesn't know if her ashes benefit from her attributes, or if the powers described in her skills don't have that direct effect on her attributes. Either way, the ash associated with her will definitely feel stronger and easier to move, and as evidenced by the early fights, a metaphysical bastard is more resilient. This is a welcome change. Considering that her Veil directly benefits from her Ash and Ember Manipulation, the defense effect on her is doubled. She has to think about putting ash. Maybe eight arms sticking out of her back would be enough and could be unfolded if necessary, but the shield formed around her real arms would end up being better.
