Chapter 9: Escape from the Village

Barred tried to crouch down, but the injury to his shoulder made him suffer a lot of pain when he moved, so he simply changed his method and kicked his right foot back to the height of his right hand. The right hand pulls out the dagger from the outside of the right foot, then holds it with the backhand, reaches into the rope that binds the hands, and begins to cut slowly.

Due to his posture and the injury to his right shoulder, Barrede's progress was very slow, and blood dripped down his right hand to the ground, and in a short time a puddle of blood accumulated on the ground. Finally, after almost ten minutes, only the last bit of the rope was still connected, and just as the hands were about to be freed, the window on the right was suddenly pushed open and a beam of sunlight entered.

Barred immediately stopped, glad that he hadn't cut the rope yet, otherwise the severed rope would have been found if it fell to the ground. But to his surprise, the head sticking out of the window was neither a werewolf nor one of the strange villagers, but Adeline, with her long blond hair. Barred winked at the mage and told her to come in quickly to save people, but Adeline was not in a hurry, and after confirming that there was no danger, she flew into the window and landed directly next to Bared.

"Where did you run to let me in alone!" Barred was annoyed that Adeline had disappeared without saying a word.

"Haven't I come to save you?" Adeline saw the dagger in Bared's hand and snatched it, cutting the nearly broken rope in one fell swoop. "At that time, I thought that if we came in too dangerously, we would probably step into an ambush and be caught together. ”

"So you're going to let me find my way and step on the trap?" Barred rubbed his wrist, the pain in his shoulder making his teeth crack. "Look at my injuries, I was attacked by werewolves, and there was an old man mage who knocked me to the ground in one fell swoop. ”

Adeline returned the dagger to Barred and lifted her chin towards Lucius. "I've seen it all, that mage is not simple, and I am no match for him. ”

Barred took the dagger and slashed the rope that bound Lucius. "You saw it all, how did you see it, you didn't come in and help me when you saw it!"

Adeline smirked. "You don't have to be there to see everything that's happening, my magic allows me to observe everything that's happening here from a certain distance, as for why I didn't help you, because I don't want to alarm the mage, he's not here, all you see is his image, and only if we don't alarm him, we can escape. ”

The rope that binds Lucius is severed, and Barred holds him. "Why didn't he show up when you came in, he found out as soon as I came in. ”

"Because you triggered the trap, and I didn't. Adeline glanced around, pointing to the open window. "Let's go out of there, his mount is still there, put him on horseback, and you ride on it too. ”

Barred picked Lucius on his back. "We can go out through the door, how do you want me to carry him out of the window?"

Adeline walked straight to the window. "We can't go through the gate, because that's where the mechanism is, so the mage will be aware of you. ”

"You...... Why didn't you say it earlier!" The labor pain in his shoulder made Barred's anger grow bigger and bigger.

Adeline glanced out the window. "When you get on your horse, ride out of the village, don't look back, and meet up at the place where you rested last night, and I'll try to fend off the villagers who are pursuing you for you. ”

"Villagers, will they chase us?" look at them......" Barred leaned against the wall and gasped, the exertion of his physical strength and the pain making him tired from just a moment of carrying it.

"You just have to do what I say, why are there so many questions?" Adeline's tone showed that she was annoyed by the warrior's question.

Barred still didn't give up. "That's not going to work, I have to know what I'm doing, I can't just go headlong into the trap without figuring out anything, I've already drilled once, I'll have to ask this time. ”

Adeline was on the verge of a seizure, but she held back her anger and glared at Barred with a frown, and it took several seconds for her to utter a word. "It's up to you whether you listen or not, I'm leaving. With that, he cast his magic and flew out of the window.

Barred cursed, having to follow the mage's instructions, and he first carried Lucius out of the window, and the prince slammed to the ground outside the window, and then the warrior heard a messy shout. "Hell, did the villagers pretend?" Barred quickly jumped out of the window, ignoring the wound on his shoulder, and then pulled Luciusto to his horse and climbed up himself.

Adeline was already standing in the middle of the street, when she raised her wand, and the two flames stretched close to the ground, and the villagers who rushed to stop them hurriedly dodged the flames and retreated to both sides. "Get out of the flames!" Adeline shouted at Bared.

Barred clamped his legs between the horse's hips, Lucius's mount was one of the best horses in a hundred, and hunger all night did not affect its reflexes and speed, and the horse raised its front legs, neighed and galloped forward. The horse quickly crossed Adeline and ran towards the end of the village in two flames, and Bared, who was still concerned about Adeline's safety, turned around on horseback and saw the villagers gathered from all directions to surround Adeline in the middle. Damn! I can't leave her!Barred grabbed the reins and stopped where he was, trying to turn his horse's head to save Adeline, but he didn't know what to do with Lucius, and when he was in trouble, he saw Adeline suddenly soar into the air and fly towards him.

Adeline flew extremely fast, and in the blink of an eye, she was on top of Barrede's head, which was parked in place. "You idiot, why are you still here, run!"

"I'm afraid you won't be able to escape!" said Bared, urging the horses on.

The trio quickly approached the end of the street, and only a few dozen yards ahead could get out of the confines of the village. Just then, Barred sensed a whistling wind coming after them, "Be careful!" He didn't have time to look back, so he had to warn Adeline loudly as he leaned down and pressed against Lucius's back.

Adeline heard Barrede's reminder and hurriedly cast a shield behind her, and a huge fireball hit the halfway shield that had just been cast, shattering the shield in one fell swoop, and the huge impact knocked Adeline out of the air and fell to the ground.

Seeing the opportunity, Barred led his mount in the direction where Adeline had fallen, and held the mage with both hands just before he landed. He didn't bother to check on Adeline's condition, and put her on Lucius's back, then threw himself on top of the mage and rushed out of the village.

The noise behind him grew lighter, and Barred remembered that Adeline had said that the villagers would not leave the confines of the village, but he still did not dare to stop, not even look back, and was worried that the weight of the three men would not crush the horses. Luckily, Lucius' mount was tall and mighty, carrying the three men into the woods, and the village disappeared behind the layers of trees.
