Chapter Seven: Sparrow Xiaozha (I)
Do you remember the small open space behind the elementary school building? This is the place where Tarzan came to school on his first day and accidentally broke into it because he got lost and met Akang the crow. One day the teacher led the students there. Before that, the teacher carved out a small plot of land under the tree as a test field for the "nature lesson". The teacher gave each child three seeds, the boys got corn seeds, and the girls got sunflower seeds. There are also boys who wish they had sunflowers, and there are girls who wish they had corn, and the teachers have fulfilled their wishes.
The children buried the seeds in the experimental field and watered them. Everyone made notes in their notebooks and followed the teacher back to the classroom.
After a while, a flower magpie and a gray turtledove flew and landed on the small piece of land. They tossed the dirt with their feet, trying to find the seeds buried underneath to feed on. A little sparrow in the tree said to them:
"Akon said he could eat the seeds. ”
The two birds stopped flipping and flew up the tree. Magpie Says:
"Lying Xiaozha, did Akon really say that?"
"It's not. ”
Turtledove Says:
"Akon really loves to be nosy. I don't understand why Akang wants to help humanity, and humans have brought us fewer disasters?"
After saying that, the two birds flew away in a huff.
The sparrows called "Xiaozha" don't have much majesty to scare away others, and they leave solely because of the face of the crow Akang. Sparrow Xiaozha is often seen next to the crow Akon, almost an assistant to Akon.
You may wonder about the conversation between the little zha and the other two birds, but that's not surprising at all. It's not that you're reading it wrong, it's not that I'm writing it wrong. Xiao Zha doesn't like to be noisy as other sparrows, he doesn't talk much. If a stranger happens to hear it talk, they may think that it either has a brain problem or is a "king of lies".
Xiaozha belongs to the kind of sparrow that lives in the mountains, and its body is smaller than the average sparrow. If you don't know, you might think that he was a little sparrow that had just flown out of the nest. It doesn't have any feathers on the top of its head, and it's ugly to be bare.
In fact, Xiao Zha has long been an adult, and Xiao Zha never lies, he just reverses the normal meaning of many words. That is, he has been using "antonyms". For example, in the morning, other birds would stand on the branches and sing, "The sun has risen!" Xiaozha would sing: "The moon has risen!" The sky was dark and about to rain, but he said that the sky was clear.
Xiao Zai's problem is a symptom of some kind of mental illness. There's a reason for this. When Xiaozha was still a newborn baby sparrow, with only fluff on its body and no feathers, it was taken from the nest. It was the former king of the mountains and forests who took it away, the big guy eagle.
Why did the big eagle kidnap a newborn sparrow, it's a long story. Now I'm going to put aside the story of Akang the crow and the children for the time being, and just tell me the story of the sparrow Xiaozha. If any Chinese teacher is reading this book, they may criticize me and say that they are "off topic". But believe me, the story of Sparrow Zha is well worth reading.
Back then, the big eagle ruled the woods to the west, including the hill on the edge of the woods. Other animals see it as "gods." When it flies through the sky, all the animals on the earth must quickly cease all activity and remain still. The animals flying in the sky quickly find a place to fall, hide their head under one of their wings, and pray or count.
Xiaozha was born with a total of four siblings, and it was the last one to emerge. The first to emerge from the shell naturally grew large and strong, while poor Xiaozha was thin and small. Usually the last ones to come out of the shell will not survive.
The chicks quickly develop feathers and are able to stand up on their own and flap their wings. In the end, even Xiaozha did it, although he was small, but he also tried hard to squeeze around with his brothers and sisters, competing for a space of his own.
One day the mountains and forests suddenly became quiet, and the big eagle came. It hovered in the sky, and the small animals on the ground and the birds in the sky rushed to hide.
A few chicks that have not been in danger for a long time are still chirping, calling their parents to return to the nest early. The big eagle spotted them in the air, and one swooped down and stood by the sparrow's nest. The chicks, seeing a terrible face appear, realized the danger coming, but instead of quieting down, they protested loudly: you are not our parents, you go away.
The big eagle coldly stretched out his long, knife-sharp beak, picked up a chick, and swallowed it in just two bites. Then there is the second, the third. It was Xiao Zha's turn to doom, but the big guy Eagle stopped. He stared at the chick with eagle eyes, then slowly opened his big mouth and gently picked up the small prick, not immediately spitting it out, but holding it in his mouth. Then he leaped and flew away.
Perhaps the youngest one will be used as a bedtime snack for the big guy eagle. The two adult sparrows not far away watched silently, enduring this catastrophe from heaven. They can only accept the arrangement of fate, because the big eagle is their god.
Xiao Zha did not become a bedtime snack for the big guy eagle, and the big guy eagle kidnapped Xiao Zha for another purpose.
The big guy eagle is the "god" of this mountain forest. "God" is often thought of as the only one, does that mean there is only one eagle here? That's right. The big eagle is a golden eagle, the only golden eagle in this mountain forest. As the city has grown, the woodland has become much smaller than it used to be. The sky can't hold more birds of prey. This golden eagle relied on its ruthlessness and strength to drive away its competitors and dominate the sky, becoming the only master of the mountains and forests.
It can defeat strong competitors, but it cannot defeat the "iron law" of nature.
Once, the big eagle swooped down from a high altitude to catch a hare among the grass. When it was close at hand, the big eagle suddenly turned, flapped its wings vigorously, and lifted off into the air. The big eagle realizes that he has made a terrible mistake, and it is not a hare in the grass, but an ordinary stone. The big eagle also ages, its eyes are no longer sharp, its wings are not as powerful as before, and its knife-like beak is not as sharp as it used to be.
But the big guy eagle doesn't want to let his role as a "god" fade away like this, it needs a helper, a spokesperson who can be controlled by it, and it chose Xiaozha.
