Chapter 7: Justice and Truth

Late at night, Chu Jun added firewood to the bonfire, and then got into the rescue cabin and began to rest. As a test subject, he still needs sleep, but the quality of sleep is higher and the process is more controllable. When sleeping, there is a special microchip that monitors the movement around him, and wakes him up immediately if there is a change.

Nothing to do all night.

At dawn, Chu Jungui woke up from his deep sleep, stretched his waist, and suddenly felt refreshed.

He crawled out of the rescue pod and was confronted with a gust of cold wind that immediately made him shiver.

On this planet, the early morning wind is still quite cold.

He looked around and felt the need to build a shelter as soon as possible. After all, the rescue pod is uncomfortable to live in, and it is too small to fit any equipment in it, let alone have no defensive function.

The results of the first day of exploration proved that the planet was not so safe, and the small animals encountered were more irritable than the other, whether they ate grass or meat. In addition, he felt that the species on the planet seemed to have low pain awareness. Even if he was pierced by a dagger, he didn't want to escape, but struggled to continue attacking.

There are good and bad things about low pain, and the disadvantage is that you are not alert enough to danger and are generally short-lived. It is possible to survive on a planet with exceptionally high levels of toxic substances such as sulfur and arsenic, and they don't plan to live for long.

Chu Jun tightened his clothes, turned on the printer, and printed a logging axe and a long saw. Although he has an arm shield, he is not as efficient as a professional tool after all.

Then he dug out a few pieces of charcoal from the bottom of the already extinguished campfire. This was specially buried under the fire and charred. He put the charcoal into the refinery, and in the blink of an eye, the machine spit out a steady stream of carbon rods. After the initial treatment of the material, it will consume much less energy when refining it into a standard general-purpose material.

He picked up a few more stones, smashed them and threw them into the refinery, where he got a little more base metal and silicon. But he was more concerned about the small tank of gas collected during the refining process. The gases contain enough oxygen to support him for several hours.

This method of refining is very inefficient, but the requirements for small-scale production are different from those of industrial production. Chu Jungui's first thing now is to get some basic materials first, and the matter of labor consumption will be talked about later.

Once he had done this, he loaded the printer with industrial acid, carbon, and wood fibers as the base for the basic mixture, and a moment later he got a small box of black powder. This is the most basic universal gunpowder. If saltpeter can be found, it can make gunpowder with better performance.

With gunpowder and a copper rod that comes with the rescue capsule, there is a basis for making bullets.

The printer started working, and after a few moments, bullets were spit out. The power of these standard 9mm bullets is already limited, and Chu Jun still uses the simple version of the most basic gunpowder, which weakens the power even more, and it is estimated that there is no lethality at a distance of 50 meters. But it's better to have a gun than not to have one.

What's more, the word melee in the name of Chu Jungui's melee firearm fighting technique is not written in vain, and the essence of this set of fighting techniques is close and even close combat. No matter how good the pistol is, as long as it is close to the face, the damage will not be low.

If the bullet is solved, the pistol will be easy to do. It didn't take long for a dark silver P1911 to appear in front of Chu Jungui.

Chu Jungui picked up the gun, inserted it into the magazine, and pulled the bolt, and the mechanical sound of the snapping was crisp and pleasant. With a gun in hand, he suddenly felt much more at ease.

He raised his gun to aim, and his hand suddenly brought up an afterimage, and in an instant he had already aimed at 8 different targets, but he didn't shoot. After trying the gun, he felt that the magazine capacity was still slightly smaller. It's a pity that there are no accessories in this printer, and there is no blueprint for a high-capacity magazine.

Eight bullets are enough, and if each shot is hit close to the face, the damage is still considerable. Chu Jungui comforted himself like this.

When he set off towards the forest again, Chu Jungui's equipment was already very different. The backpack on his back was flanked by axes and long saws, a pistol and dagger at his waist, and an arm shield on his hand. The backpack contained water and a small tank of oxygen. The basic equipment is complete, and it is no longer the naked state of the first landing.

This time, as usual, he explored deep into the forest first, and then went several kilometers deeper than the previous one. At this point, his body was a little unable to support it, and he inhaled oxygen once.

Digging deeper, he stumbled upon a valley. The valley is surrounded by mountains in the distance, the valley is lush with vegetation and even a small pond in the middle.

However, although he saw the water source, Chu Jungui did not rush over. In pristine areas, a source of water tends to attract the ferocious creatures around it. The seemingly calm small pond is actually full of dangers.

He squinted and looked at the valley from a distance. Long-distance scans have shown that there are many vigorous life magnetic field reactions in the valley, but it is not known what the source is.

After hesitating for a moment, Chu Jungui gave up the idea of exploring the valley immediately. The dangers in the valley are unknown, and his current equipment is still very primitive, and his firepower is far from sufficient. At the very least, you'll have to carry a heavy machine gun to explore the valley calmly.

Of course, there is no blueprint for a heavy machine gun in this portable version of the printer, not even an automatic rifle, but this is difficult for Chu Jungui. In his memory area, he stored the structure and schematics of several heavy machine guns, and he could print out the parts one by one and assemble a heavy machine gun by himself.

Chu Jungui, both the test subject and the teenager in the data, had an obsessive fascination with heavy machine guns, or weapons with ferocious firepower similar to heavy machine guns.

This is not an isolated case. When mankind had just entered the era of interstellar exploration, an explorer summed up the experience of surviving in foreign lands for many years, and said a famous sentence:

Firepower is justice, and caliber is truth.

Chu Jungui thought so.

He marked the location of the valley on the map and added a special danger sign. After thinking about it, he added a sign of meat and water source.

He returned the same way, chose a tree of a good size at the edge of the forest, cut it down, sawed the trunk into long strips, tied it into a bundle, and carried it back to the rescue pod.

There is a small plateau not far from the rescue cabin, the terrain is two or three meters higher than other places, and the top is flat, which is a more suitable place to build.

Chu Jungui cut out a wooden handle, inserted the arm shield, turned the arm shield into a shovel, cleaned up the weeds and gravel at the top of the small high ground, and sorted out a flat surface. Then select the four corners and nail a stake to each of them.

In his vision, a phantom of a wooden house appeared. The phantom shadow coincides with the image in reality, and the four corners of the wooden house coincide with the wooden stakes under the nails just right.

Chu Jungui was very satisfied, so he used four wooden stakes as the base point, nailed down more wooden stakes, and then fixed them with wooden strips between the wooden stakes.

Now that he has plenty of iron on hand, he can make some metal fasteners. These fasteners have been optimized for many years and have long been incredibly simple and practical. He cut the wood into planks of the same size, fastened the four corners, and put them together, so that the two planks were firmly held together. If it was brewed, in the blink of an eye he had a large reinforced plank. Place the supporting stakes and support strips, tighten the connectors, and the floor is formed.

Laying the foundation, the subsequent construction is logical. This most basic wooden house structure does not need to be thought about at all, and it can be built according to the blueprint in the horizon. With the assistance of various markings in the field of vision, there is no need to worry about crooked walls or uneven floors.

Soon he built four walls, the doorway facing the rescue pod, and a small window on each of the other three sides to make it easier to observe the surroundings. The only thing that bothered him was the lack of materials, and he had to go to the forest twice to cut wood during the construction process to barely scrape together enough wood.

By the time it got dark, a flat-roofed log cabin was already standing on a high slope.

Chu Jun used prey grease and plant fibers as raw materials, printed out a few waterproof fiber cloths, and covered the roof, so that a wooden house with basic living functions was completed.

He moved all the useful things in the rescue pod to the wooden hut and nailed a working platform for the refinery and printers. At night, the stellar energy board and charger should also be received in the house, so as not to encounter rainy days.

Because of the excess sulfur in the air, the planet's rainwater is strongly acidic. Stellar panels and chargers, although cheap and crude, have metal parts that don't drench in acid rain a few times.

The hut is only a few square meters, and as soon as a few things are placed, it looks a little crowded.

Chu Jungui simply ate something, drank enough water, and then lay down to rest.

He closed his eyes, but he didn't fall asleep. Now he doesn't need to sleep.

In the center of his vision, a blueprint for the design of a heavy machine gun appeared. The heavy machine gun was then dismantled and reduced to parts. Then the other parts are hidden, and the barrel remains. He zoomed in and out of the barrel, spinning it back and forth, and after a series of complex numerical calculations, he revised the dimensions a bit.

The so-called modification is to increase the caliber a little, but in fact, it is not much, from 7.62 to 12.7, which is only a few millimeters. The eyes are a little worse, and you may not be able to see the difference from a distance.

After hesitating for a while, he finally decided to stop at this caliber. Although the boy has a kind of fanaticism about weapons in his bones, the reality is limited, and it is impossible to support his unlimited transformation.

As soon as the caliber of the barrel was changed, except for the tripod, the rest of the parts had to be modified accordingly. It is not only a matter of the size of the parts, but also the strength of the bolt must be reconsidered when the caliber is larger.

Although Chu Jungui was able to add carbon and nickel to the iron in the refining machine to make steel. However, this lowest-level refining machine could not accurately grasp the proportion, the strength of the steel was limited, and the quality was very unstable, so some parts of the machine gun had to be thickened to increase the strength.

Even if Chu Jungui's brain power is comparable to that of a computer, the workload of modifying the design is not small.

By the time the final design took shape, it was past midnight.

The newly designed heavy machine gun weighs more than 40 kilograms, imbuing it with the rugged style of the old era of big industry.

In other words, it's stupid.

Even so, the life of this heavy machine gun was only about 2,000 rounds. Chu Jungui was still a little disappointed, after all, this was his first debut work independently designed and modified, and it looked like the level was very average.

However, he thought about it, and it would take more than ten days to rely on the printer to fire 2,000 rounds of ammunition. Although the heavy machine gun has a short lifespan, he has less ammunition in his hand.

In addition, this planet is quite rich in mineral resources, and it is seven or eight points similar to the parent planet. As long as he takes the valley, is lucky, and finds some resources such as non-ferrous metals and rare earths, he may be able to build a new generation of printers. At that time, he will most likely be carrying a howitzer or machine gun around, and a guy with weak firepower like a heavy machine gun can be thrown into the warehouse to fall into the dust.

Chu Jungui sketched a bright future in his heart while falling asleep.
