Chapter Ninety-Eight: Bad News
Terrorists attacked, and the tower collapsed
7 July 2003
Broadcaster World Service
Thousands of people were killed and wounded because of the mystery of the rogue mage attack. The tower was torn down and the whole city was in chaos. Sir Kilroy is also said to have been among the victims. The arrival of the Brisbane Tower and the Melbourne Tower put the city under martial law. The borders are closed. The mystery vows to "find those responsible".
At noon on Friday, a group of rogue mages of up to the rank of mages attacked a shielding station along the coast, destroying the tower and killing tens of thousands of people, in what was the worst terrorist attack ever on a city on the frontier of imperialism.
When a terrifying city watched its civilization go back thirty years and the city was surrounded by merfolk, they quickly seized the opportunity to break through the shield and attack. In total, 21 Krakens and one Leviathan entered the city, with an estimated number of merfolk between 20,000 and 30,000.
When the tower did not respond, and indeed did not choose to respond within the allotted time frame, in order to hinder the Mermaid Gate's progress, its critics' worst fears were confirmed. Towers have become victims of infighting, and protecting the city and its citizens are no longer a top priority. Even more notable is the fact that in this conflict, a dark sun rises from the tower until a mythical magical creature known as the Rainbow Serpent consumes this depressing phenomenon. When asked for answers, both Brisbane and Tower Melbourne declined to comment.
The attack caused panic and anxiety in Oceania and was reminiscent of the 1943 siege of Pearl Harbor and the Coral Sea conflict, where the city of Brisbane was also surrounded by merfolk forces, who broke through the protective post in 1987.
While no one claimed responsibility, official suspicion quickly fell to the shadow organization Ghost Organisation, also known as the Shadow Committee, which claimed responsibility for the 2001 Red Dragon incident. So far, the paladin, Lord Gunther Schultz, refuses to comment on how the terrorists infiltrated the tower and captured its fortifications.
Last Saturday night, the senior Chancellor of the Exchequer of the Great Commonwealth vowed in a speech by Magorge to "find the perpetrators and bring them to justice". He said the towers would take revenge on "those behind these evil acts," including the city that harbored them.
While the statistics are ongoing, it is estimated that between 1,000 and 1,200 mages have lost their lives, with another 2,000 currently injured or in serious condition. The tower is being repaired, but its superstructure is reportedly severely damaged by the negative energy released from the tallest spire.
It is estimated that the casualty rate among pseudonymous civilians could be as high as 12,000.
Three days after the attack, communications have been fully restored, and the extent of the damage is becoming increasingly apparent. A large swath of infrastructure in the CBD has been damaged, 60% of commercial buildings have been damaged, and 20% of magical buildings remain unusable. The streets are still flooded and dangerous. The militia advised non-essential personnel to avoid the CBD until the sea could be drained and potential mermaid eggs were removed.
At a meeting on Monday, the authorities under Gunther Schultz announced that among the dead were the judges of the tower and the ten masters who presided over the affairs of Oceania, Lord Henry Kane Foster Kilroy.
Lord Kilroy has been the Chief Justice of the Tower for 20 years, having held this position since the Tower's inception. He was a famous magician and companion of Drade, earning him the nickname 'Henry the Immortal'. At the moment, there has been no official statement about the cause of Lord Kilroy's death.
After the incident, the Magorge regime has put the troops in Oceania on high alert.
The incident was the most serious terrorist siege of a border city since the beginning of the two-tier city system after World War II. The attack paralyzed the surrounding area and seriously affected the economic output of the marine area. When the city was preparing to transport its non-essential mages to the metropolis of Shanghai, all travel to and from Shanghai was banned. Passengers seeking an emergency transfer should contact the relevant authorities.
Towers are to blame?
12 July 2003
Oceania Times
A new survey shows that a majority of Oceanian citizens believe the government and the tower are withholding information about the attack.
Conspiracy theories about the deaths of Lord Henry Kilroy of the "Big Ten Devils" and Eric Walken, the "Grey Faction" mage, came into the spotlight on Friday after lumen recordings of strange scenes surrounding the tower came into focus when the tower failed to respond to the Mermaid Gate invasion.
Christopher Budd, a theorist of magic and political commentator at Chapman University in California, said in a statement: "There is evidence that the disaster was an internal conflict. ”。 "When we see that there is a certain level of paranoia in the tower's official response. This shows that the government is hiding the causes and reasons for the disaster. ”
"If you look at the history between Walken and Kilroy, there is a conflict of interest. The professor noted that in previous incidents, Lord Kilroy's apprentice, Alexia de Botton, had publicly humiliated Judge Walken. "It's not surprising that one of them might use this tower to shoot down the other. ”
"I believe it," the professor advised the Oceania Times. "You should delve deeper into the inter-factional politics of the tower itself. ”
Conspiracy theories abound
The findings are based on the findings of 1,511 mages aged 18 and over who participated in disaster investigations. The questionnaire is weighted and based on results that provide demographic representation, with the participating group of mages as a whole.
Poll results show that many people not only believe in the conspiracy involving Judge Kilroy, but also hold conspiracy theories about the mysterious dark sun that has emerged. Other speculations have surfaced involving Lord Kielroy's late wife, a renowned void mage, whose existence was declassified while working at the Commonwealth Eastern European Theatre in 1971. Some have linked the Red Dragon incident to a giant snake that appeared during the 2002 Royal State Incident, suggesting that the modus operandi of both incidents pointed to ghosts.
Critics from all over the world
Critics of the Commonwealth tower system, such as their Russian counterparts in the Magrek regime, argue that the tower system is still "vulnerable to exploitation" and "abuse". China's Politburo similarly criticized the Commonwealth for its lack of a centralized system, inferring that the nominal class system led to a natural imbalance that led to conflict among citizens. When contacted by journalists for comments from Ambassador to the United States (Sir Wesson), he made the following statement.
"Our hearts are with those who have suffered this terrible loss in a time of peace and progress. Whoever these culprits are, the United States stands behind its ruling allies of the Demon King of Britain. Together, we will help the Commonwealth find those responsible and bring them to justice. ”
It is worth noting that in the past, Sir Weasson has criticized the Commonwealth's colonial system of government as "outdated" and its reliance on the traditional system of spells as "out of date".
Singapore, a close ally of Oceania, also commented. The current leader of the world's largest second-tier trading city, also known as the South Sea Fortress, Goh Chok Tong (Judge Goh Chok Tong), has declared his support for the British Commonwealth.
"Despite the criticism of the Commonwealth's governance, we must remember that it may be ancient, reigning, and in this case, the British Empire remains our best institution. We do not feed our magicless citizens, we give equal opportunities to all who awaken to become mages, and the state provides food, shelter and protection for all citizens, regardless of class, origin or origin. ”
"Before criticizing the Commonwealth, I would invite our friends in the Americas, Russia and China to consider their own policies, because those who live in the Crystal Palace should not cast spells on others. ”

Tony Jones
Good evening and welcome to the special edition of the quiz show, but I'm sorry to say that we viewers won't be joining us for some time. Coming live from Melbourne, the topic of today's Q&A is, of course, the collapse of the tower itself.
I'm Tony Jones. Here to answer your questions – investigative journalist Katie McMont, Professor Stephen Burrow of University Mysteries, Paladin Jonathan Holtz of Brisbane, former Mayor Maggs Devon Fulcro. And finally, the figure of this era, the savior of the city, the actual leader of the tower - the paladin Gunther Schultz!
Please welcome our expert group.
(Applause, some boos)
Tony Jones
Thank you very much. ABC broadcasts Oceania live at 9:35 a.m. ET.
The first question tonight comes from calcium thickness.
Calcium thickness
I am asking Lord Gunther: how do you respond to the accusation that Lord Henry Kilroy was negligent in his duties, which led directly to the crisis?
Tony Jones
I'll start with Lord Gunther.
Gunther Schultz
Oh, yes. Listen, I've been following the conspiracy that Karen is interested in for a while now. I'm sorry, but it's baseless. Now that there is news that the Ghost and its group of rogue mages were involved in the incident, we have announced the fact that Lord Kilroy was ambushed by a void mage with immense abilities while participating in a match against Lord Ferris in Ross Bay. This is the only reason why Lord Kilroy cannot react to a merfolk invasion. Add to this the fact that Judge Walken unfortunately mismanaged the tower's emergency response system, which should be seen as an unfortunate combination of two coincidences.
Tony Jones
Professor Burrow
Steven Burrow
Lord Gunther, I have great respect for you and your actions in this incident, but historically, the Tower has been involved in connivance for a reason. I think it goes without saying that Elizabeth Sobel, the wife of the late Lord Kielroy's Void Mage, was involved. From the lumen recordings taken at the scene and during the incident, it can be inferred that Elizabeth, or someone like the late Mrs. Kilroy, was indeed present. Similarly, despite the sudden appearance of a large number of Yass spells on the surviving mages of the tower, there are still reliable eyewitness reports of a witch resembling the void during the collapse of the tower.
Tony Jones
Lord Gunther?
Gunther Schultz
Steven, I'm afraid I'll have to argue with you on these issues. They are nothing more than popular theories and hearsay. The tower has always had the preservation of the city at its core. I mean, you saw the Leviathan, right? It cost me a lot, but I did it knowing full well that if I could push that monster out of the way, the tower would defend the city. As for your hypothesis, I can only tell you the truth. The Rogue Mage simply took advantage of the misunderstanding between the factions in the Tower, but this was later resolved. I mean, look at us, we're more united than we were before. Personally, the centrist faction, the neo-gray faction, and even the radical faction - we are fully committed to purging it out, and restoring it to its original state, perhaps improving its infrastructure with modern technologies. For this, I suggest that even when we speak, it is dishonest and selfish to double-guess about towers and men and women risking their lives, don't you think?
Tony Jones
Our next question is from Simon Buren.
Simon Buren
My question is for Jonathan Holtz. Sir, why don't you catch or destroy the mysterious snake that appears over the city and swallows the dark sun?
Tony Jones
Jonathan Holtz
Jonathan Holtz
Good question, Simon. As you know, the Brisbane Grey faction, including Mr. Lin, has always believed that the Wilderness is not our enemy. Instead, we believe in the possibility of coexistence and mutual benefit, as many living beings are sentient and possess the capacity for empathy and peace, values that we adhere to. As for the Rainbow Serpent itself, all I can tell you is that this creature is ancient, probably older than our existence in this land. So, let me ask you - what gives us the right to destroy it or drive it out of our homes? This creature is kind, as evidenced by its consumption of the Dark Sun. It is a creature of light and life, while the dark sun is a source of debilitating negative energy. It only shows that if we can take advantage of the natural flow of the world, it will ultimately make our cities safer.
Tony Jones
Mags Fulcro, would you like to add a little more?
Devin Fulcro
Tony, did you know that we lose more than three hundred mages every year, most of them junior and magical creatures?Whether it's the elves from the Blue Mountains, the elements of the Simpson Desert, or the constant threat of merfolk, we've never made peace with the wilderness and never will. For those creatures, our very existence is the bane. Think about what the Gray family was trying to achieve in the '80s, the treaty with the merfolk, and what turned out to be a couple of whaling expeditions from the first-tier cities to the South China Sea, and we're back to square one. What I believe is what Americans understand that the only "good" magical existence is a contract, tethered or dead. My city is in ruins, and I may no longer be mayor, but I will never forgive those fish-headed demons, not after what they have done to our home. Sometimes, blood can only be repaid with blood, and the best way to resolve a crisis is to retaliate with extreme prejudice.
(Audience cheers, whistles)
Tony Jones
Alright, alright, be quiet. Briefly, let's ask a question from the street.
(The camera cuts to a young woman, unusually beautiful, with large amber eyes and impressive cleavage, which the photographer makes the most of.) )
Ms. Harriet Sperling.
Lord Gunther, I want to know who the Pink Salt Mage is. He saved us all when the merfolk almost took our positions. Since the Blade Barrier is at least a level 6 spell, what can you tell us about the High Mage?
Tony Jones
Gunther Schultz
Gunther Schultz
I fear that the identity of the Pink Salt Savior will remain a secret until the person wishes to be known. What I can tell you is that he is not a member of the Tower, but he shares with us many of the core principles of protecting the weak and helping those in need, even at the cost of his own life.
Katie McMont
You know, there were also reports that he had a group of civilians die.
Gunther Schultz
I find it hard to believe.
Katie McMont
Maybe so, but it's still widely reported. Many of the militiamen who survived the attack said that the mage flew past them without even squinting at them. Some say that he will use this method to help a woman who is more able to fight the mermaid door than a magician.
Gunther Schultz
It's a mess, Harriet. I'm sure if a young woman like you were in danger, the Pink Salt Savior would risk his life to save you.
(Audience laughs)
"Ajo!"
Gwen watched her father sneeze for the twelfth time as they boarded the freighter "Queen's Efficiency".
Like the cargo ships of the Old World of Gwen, these ships have reached near-impregnable proportions by employing their enormous scale. Surrounded by an enchanted and reinforced keel, the carrier is reinforced by shapes made of deformed steel seamlessly merged plate-to-plate against a lattice frame glyph. Approximately 400 meters long and 59 meters wide from bow to stern, this behemoth may have been a translocation island made of steel. As Gwen looked down at the impressive ship from the top deck, she couldn't help but marvel at its magical combination of engineering, magical, and non-magical techniques.
They were met by the Harbour Authority as soon as they arrived in Darwin, and they teleported directly from the tower to the departure hall. There they met the captain, the Honourable Captain Scott Tourey, a veteran seafarer with 40 years of experience in ocean voyages.
When Gwen asked him how safe he wanted the voyage to be, the old seafarer burst out laughing.
"Girl, there's a thing called the safety of the scales!"
The captain explained that with the revolution of the early 20th century, ocean transport is now considered the safest means of transport between cities.
With the invention of the American mana engine, which was powered by a stable source of fuel, such as the engine, made it possible to move ships with huge displacements, from 800 tons in the 1920s to 55,000 tons in 2000. Their current cargo company, the Queen's Efficient, is one such company owned by the Danish company Maersk (Maersk Denmark), a Tier 3E behemoth.
"We're almost ten times the size of a normal sea monster!" the captain boasted confidently. "It would take a behemoth to destroy the Triple E, not to mention that we have a shield resonator on board. ”
While Gwen couldn't understand the captain's excited half-spoken jargon, she understood that nothing would stop them from making their way to Singapore, at least if there were extenuating circumstances.
After exchanging hands, the captain chartered them a full cargo hold with private cabins, separate showers and impressive aft views.
"Why the cargo hold?" Gwen asked when they had finally settled down. The cargo compartment is artificially lit daylight glyphs, completely Spartan except for four steel walls. At one end was the entrance to the control tower, where the group could access their room in the middle of the ship, while in front of them was a closed bulkhead of football field value.
"We have up to seven days to get you ready for the black zone, so let's not waste any time. Taj took off her coat and revealed her strong muscles, as if anatomically relaxed. "If we're going to go into the jungle, the first thing you'll have to learn is CQBs - melee spells. ”
"You're going to take part too," Jonas ordered Moyer to train. "If Gunther thinks you're so good, then let's see what you can do. ”
"I'm right," Moyer got up from the floor and walked towards the tower.
Paul got in the way.
"Bullying newcomers?" Jasmine asked nonchalantly. "It's a bit outdated, don't you think?"
"If we're going to operate as a team, we need to know what you can do. ”
"I can take care of myself, and Gwen. Moyer tried to push Paul away, but the smiling castor didn't move. "Do you mind?"
"Come on, take a peek," Taj urged Moyer, his voice echoing through the bulkheads to show us your signature spell, and you can hide the trump card if you wish. ”
Moyer sighed. He walked towards the wall and sat cross-legged on the floor. After a while, he began to ponder.
Others, including Gwen, despised her father.
"Well, let's see what you can do, Gwen. Jonas gestured to the clearing.
"Do we have privacy?" Gwen asked the person in front of her.
"Yes," Jonas slammed the hull with one hand. "There is no cavity recorder here, and we had Paul do a thorough examination when we came in. There's also a double barrier entrance that has to be opened to reach this height, so we'll be fine. The thickness of walls and cargo can also interfere with divination spells. ”
"Okay, let's start with the lights. Gwen nodded to her companions, noticing her father, his eyes closed either suggesting that he was watching or that he had dozed off. If that's the case, Gwen will have a real surprise for the old man.
"So, Alicia and I came up with an iconic spell that I could turn into a crystal or use as a spontaneous burst. ”
Gwen chose a place not far from her father.
"Flashbang!"
The confined space of the container ship magnified the concussive effect of the spell so much that Gwen managed to stun herself.
"Almighty God!" Jonas watched his mana shield glow.
"What a spell, Gwen. Paul had gone far and fled unscathed.
"yes, it's a real corkscrew. How long did it take you to manifest itself? Half a second?"
"0.4," Gwen replied. Flashbangs were one of her earliest spells and her favorite. Feeling the tinnitus disappear from her eardrums, she sneaked a glance at her father. Moyer seemed unfazed by all this, sitting motionless with a Zen-like expression, indicating that he was completely relaxed and at peace.
"Let's go on, what else...... Loud?, Jonas asked carefully.
"Not that much, no," Gwen replied, beginning to cycle through all the known summoning spells she'd learned in the last year and a half.
Guide the bolt and concentrate positive energy to train the electrical attack. Lightning Blast, a channel that lasts AOE, is now disabled due to her higher-level spells. Lightning grip, melee attack. Taser, Gwen's improved non-lethal lightning grip. Of all her summoning spells, the lightning arrow remains Gwen's primary offensive spell, capable of piercing multiple enemies in a line and causing paralysis as a side effect.
And her spells.
The Lightning Knife was a long-lasting lightning grip she trained for CQB, but never got a chance to use it. Walding Bolt is Gwen's alternate artifact, a magic orb that shoots lightning through her summoning talent, albeit with only three charges. Call Illumination, again, as a secondary combat turret, indiscriminately shoots lightning at the enemy from above. Modern Faithful Hound - is Gwen's guardian spell that creates an invisible dog that attacks enemies when they approach. While the lightning-possessed dog can't leave its set position, its power is as powerful as that of a soldier-level magical beast. The Dark Tentacles are a spell that is growing on Gwen. It is a means of limiting and damaging enemies while paralyzing and damaging them with multiple blows. In the end, the dimensiongate remains her only transposition spell, though Gwen can use it offensively and defensively, both through the Void and lightning, to affect an "explosive" energy at the point of arrival.
"I also know some useful spells that I can get into school but haven't trained yet," Gwen explained, continuing to demonstrate the leaps and feather drops of transmutation, as well as discovering magic from divination.
When she showed off her unique shield, which had been created by Gunther's theories and non-Newtonian methods, the men were deeply moved.
The Taj Mahal begged Gwen for this theory as his own attempt, but found the performance difficult to navigate. Gwen wondered if it was because she understood the mana particles in the vacuum of the two shields as atomic particles, while the Taj Mahal believed that mana was an invisible spiritual force.
When Gwen runs out of her lightning repertoire, it's time for the main event.
"Let's look at those beasts," Taj gasped to her feet. Despite the fact that his earth element has a good equivalence in resisting Gwen's lightning, the quasi-element still has its notoriously paralyzing effect.
"Ariel!"
A bolt of lightning struck the galvanized steel, summoning a lovely white mink, which landed on the ground in a gorgeous manner.
It struck a few beautiful poses and then ran between Gwen's slender ankles in a timeless figure-eight.
"Battle Form!"
With a roar, Ariel began to grow, accompanied by a crackling sound of electrical energy passing through the steel plates.
To Gwen's surprise, Ariel was much older than before. Has her spell gotten stronger?does Expressionless have magical and shapeshifting talents?
"Grrrr Company..."
A white mongoose was startled by a mongoose the size of electric hair. Ariel glanced at Gwen and urged her to give Gwen one more lightning spell - which she had to do.
It was immediately covered in white lightning, and its fur was violently erected and began to resemble a serpentine porcupine. With a powerful hind leg push, Ariel launched himself towards the end of the container platform and came back in the blink of an eye.
"Hehe, a self-urging ability, very good," Jonas applauded Ariel, who held its nose tightly. "That one looks disgusting, too. ”
"He's certainly useful in the jungle," Paul said. "Especially when we get to the Black Zone, we will be surrounded by land. ”
"How so?" Gwen asked. Of course, it would be easier for them to fly into the woods.
"Charm and topography," the Taj Mahal explained. "Remember Gwen, there are three places you can't fly – the Dungeon, the Arboreal Zone, and the Tier 1 cities. ”
"Tier 1 cities?" Gwen frowned.
"Well, you can't get it without a license, and it's almost impossible to get it without deep pockets and deeper connections. So no. ”
"I see, but why can't we fly into the forest?"
"It will only confuse you," the Taj Mahal patiently said to the untested wizard. "The Orange Zone and beyond are polluted by the unpredictable mana of the wilderness. This means that from the air, it is almost impossible to determine the bearing by measuring the canopy. This becomes doubly difficult when intelligent magical creatures further inhabit arboreal areas, as they can divert forests to confuse unwanted invaders. ”
"What makes ground cover safer?"
"Who says it's safer?" Paul joked. "The ground method gives us room to leave a mystical sigil, a teleportation beacon, and if all else fails, we can burn ourselves a little open space to mark the location. ”
The Taj Mahal noted: "This and most mages can't throw it into the air. "You've been spoiled for a serious company, Gwen. In the real world, very few mages can cast spells in combat. The damage that flying spells do to your concentration and body makes it impossible for the vast majority of mages to use advanced spells in motion. ”
"Or situational awareness," Paul added. "I gotta say that's the key. You're so focused on flying and projecting that you can't see the trees in the forest, ha!"
"Alright," Gwen nodded, thinking about when she would be able to fight dogs with the best of them and forbid flying in the arboreal zone. ”
There was a scratch in the air, a slight sense of inertia. The ship is leaving the port.
"Would you like to go to the harbor?" Jonas turned to Gwen. "Nice view. We'll get this done, and then we'll be on deck. Let's look at the emptiness you're familiar with. ”
Gwen lowered her head and took a deep breath. She felt more refreshed and awake than ever. Her body was still filled with the emerald vitality of the serpent, which should provide her with a cushion before the void magic devoured her health again.
She ordered Ariel to return to her mink form, watched it harass Moyer, turned around, and happily rubbed her back against the galvanized bulkhead. Her father was angry and stopped pondering, and stood there looking at her intently, his eyes turning to the space in front of her.
"Kaliban is a little scary," Gwen explained. "He's an alien creature, so you have to be prepared. ”
"We've seen things you don't believe," Taj quipped with a laugh. "Let's see what you find. ”
"Okay, come on. Gwen calmed down and drew energy from the void, feeling the unstable energy flood her mana channel. At least for now, they no longer infiltrate her body, controlled by Almuji's blessings.
A scar was made in the air, a cut in time and space, and Caliban came out.
At least, Gwen thinks it's Cariban.
Instead of the expected sliding and silent plopping, but a pair of slender legs, transparent obsidian, in a knobby manner, resembling disjointed, anorexic fingers. Pair after couple, couple after couple, until the Caliban was out in its terrible glory. Four pairs of clutching legs glided across the floor, raking around the metal shell in an uncertain fashion like a newborn foal. Caliban's body, which had previously been sinuous and twisty, was now spherical, fleshy, purple, with pink tentacles, like a spider or a scorpion turned outward. Its back shell is still a hard shell, with translucent plates intertwined, but its underside is stained with gurgling sucking sounds. A long tail grows from its spine, a remnant of its previous form, whipping the air like a steel rope.
It's all a little strangely familiar.
Vanka Gwen said to Caliban. "You took the form of Vanka!"
She immediately thought of facelessness and its talent for shapeshifting. Unlike the shapeshifters, Gwen is not a victim devourer, so this polymorphism must have been inherited by someone she is familiar with!Gwen closes her eyes and retracts her mind back into her astral soul, looking for a sign of metamorphosis. She found that not far from her radiant constellation, dark and gloomy, emitting a malevolent lilac glow.
At the same time, the Taj Mahal screamed incoherently.
He didn't think he could do it. After all, he was the main tank of the Alessian battle group. No matter what horror they face, his shield is always the first to stop it, and his fist is often the first to strike it. More often than not, it was from boots and clothes that he had to scrape off the wreckage of horror and alien creatures.
But not so. This is an existential crisis in material form.
As soon as the Taj Mahal's ** saw the demon king of Niger, he was so frightened that he whimpered.
“!! Caliban turned to face the screaming confessors. Duet!
"Shari, Shava, Shalaar!" were five tongues, each with a spike dripping gray slime, excitedly skinning their new companion.
Paul got down on his knees and vomited his entrails, feeling the sour taste enter his nasal passages and burn a hole in his esophagus. He began coughing and choking.
Jonas begins to see fields of cloves and lavender, and his mind chooses not to acknowledge this madness.
"Oh hey, Alesia, I didn't expect to find you here. He giggled like a child. "Do you want some flowers? ”
"Cariban, follow!" Gwen commanded the brisk thing that was now the size of a pony. Caliban, noticing something on her leg, walked sideways to her and wagged his tail happily. It lifted a slender spider leg and wrapped it around her waist with a heart. It's the best it can do without hugging her face and strangling her master. Gwen reached out a beautiful hand and patted the carapace of the Cariban, causing it to frantically peel off its tail, leaving white scratches on the galvanized iron, and dribbling the ball in large quantities.
"Well, let's see how you are in battle. Gwen took another deep breath.
"Stop!" Moyer's voice shouted.
Gwen looked up and saw her father with a handkerchief in his hand, wiping the traces of vomit off his chin.
"If you keep going, there's not a team to bring to the island. ”
Gwen turned to Caliban, who wagged his tail.
"Good boy, Caliban!" she glanced at her father. "Caliban!
Caliban turned to Moyer and stood up. Two fangs burst out of its face, and void mana passed through its body. As a black blur, it pounced on its owner's "daddy". Caliban opened a second mouth, just below its gnashing jaw, and it wagged its tongue excitedly to lick it.
"Oh, fucking no. Moyer felt every hair stand on this back.
