Chapter Seventy-Six: The Problem That Was Ignored

What caught Ian's eye was a wasteland under the cover of night. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. biqUgE怂 ļ½‰ļ½Žļ½†ļ½

On the wasteland, a team of more than thirty people was camping not far in front of him, ready to rest.

In Ian's eyes, several of these people were extremely familiar, and they were none other than Adolf and the others at the beginning.

And when he saw these people, Ian suddenly had a big question mark in his mind. He obviously jumped into the stomach of the natural disaster, how could he suddenly appear here?

He looked around suspiciously, made a few simple attempts, and soon noticed something out of the ordinary.

He found himself looking at what seemed to be a stereoscopic movie at the moment.

Although I can see the characters in the movie, I can't interfere with their actions. At the same time, it is clear that the characters in the "film" do not feel his presence at all. Because at this point in time, Lilith really doesn't have herself in her memory.

Thinking so, Ian thought he seemed to have a clue. He should indeed be in the belly of the natural disaster, and what he saw in front of him may only be a projection of memories in Lilith's soul fragments, a scene that has not yet been digested after being absorbed by the natural disaster.

He looked around again and tried to spoil the scene with his sword. But after several attempts, it ended in failure.

These sights and circumstances were completely untouched, and even the land that carried him turned into vanity when he slashed down with his sword.

And when he found out, Ian was so glad that it was himself who came in.

Having seen and heard all kinds of bizarre events in his previous life, he was obviously more comfortable with all kinds of messy situations than anyone else in this world. And if it was someone else who came in, then he would have been confused by now......

Subconsciously touching his chin, Ian made a decision. He decided to follow the sight of the group until he came to the point where he was supposed to be in reality.

Maybe then, he can find the answer he is looking for.

With that in mind, he approached Lilith's side and sat down, quietly waiting for the events to unfold.

And at this moment, this girl who made him remember it so much was obviously chatting with her companions.

"Lilith, you're amazing. ā€

A girl Ian had never seen before complimented, "I didn't expect you to know so much." I'm afraid you're the most knowledgeable person in the whole third grade, and even Tutor Lawrence has praised you for knowing more than he does. ā€

"Of course. It's just the outskirts of the Purgatory Wasteland, and there's something about this kind of place that I've learned when I was in a secondary school. ā€

"Huh!" the girl exclaimed, "So early, will the tutor of the academy be willing to teach?"

"Of course they won't. Lilith spread her hands: "My father taught me." He was one of the most knowledgeable people in the North, and always forced me to learn a lot. But thanks to it, I do know a lot. ā€

"Ah, but my father will force me to learn things, so why ......"

"What he wants me to do, is beyond your imagination. Lilith interrupted her, "That guy is a bigot, and if he thinks I should be able to do it, he'll force me to do it anyway." ā€

"Uh, I'm sorry, Lilith. The girl's face looked apologetic.

"Nothing. Lilith shook her head indifferently: "Anyway, as soon as I graduate, I will be independent, and I will never be controlled by him again." ā€

"Really, if only Grand Duke Khan Parks were my father. The unknown girl looked reverent: "His love for Her Royal Highness the 'Black Princess' is simply hopeless. is obviously just an adopted daughter, but she treats her better than her own daughter. And my father treated my own daughter like a commodity. ā€

"Hmph. Hearing this, Lilith snorted lightly: "The Grand Duke is playing with fire! Actually adopting a sinner as an adopted daughter is simply provoking the nerves of the empire!"

"Those who are lowly should live with gratitude in the slums we have assigned to them. It is simply incomprehensible that he still wants to be on an equal footing with the citizens of the empire. ā€

"Well, that's what I said. The unknown girl nodded: "I heard from my mother that these sinners are a group of cultists at all, and the empire should not accept them at all. The nobles who showed kindness to the sinners were simply deceived. ā€

.....

"Huh. ā€

As the words spoken by the two little girls became more and more "vicious", the corners of Ian's mouth twitched. He hated each other now that they were just memory projections, otherwise he would have lifted them up and beaten them.

Fortunately, it was at this moment that the mentor named Lawrence stopped their conversation and gave them the order to rest. The two little girls had to stop their increasingly vicious conversation, and each went into his own tent and began to rest.

As night fell, Adolf began to keep vigil for them with a few of his senior students, alerting them to the dangers that might arise on the wasteland.

Ian couldn't help but sink his mind.

He didn't know how much time had passed since the night he had rescued them.

He just waited quietly, waiting for something to happen. He believed that he would not see the scene of this night for no reason.

This night must have had a special meaning in Lilith's heart.

Sure enough, hours later, Ian waited for what he wanted to wait.

A pitch-black figure sneakily walked through the camp and into the tent that belonged to Lilith.

Ian quickly narrowed his eyes when he saw this figure. But he found that with his current eyes, he couldn't see who the other person was, as if he was just a black shadow.

Ian frowned, and jumped into Lilith's tent as well, just in time to see Shadow's hand take out some powders and a very thin dagger.

Seeing this scene, Ian only felt his heart beat faster. He couldn't help but think of a question that he had completely ignored before.

Lilith once said that when she woke up, she found herself dead.

But before today, Ian had never thought about how she died.

And the scene in front of him almost answered Ian, everything.

I saw that the black shadow gently sprinkled the medicine powder in front of Lilith's body, and after confirming that the medicine worked, he used the slender short sword to pierce Lilith's heart with a sword.

Then, he took out a small box in the shape of a cube.

Needless to say, Ian already knows what's in the box......

Sure enough, when the box opened, a spherical object was grasped by the shadow, and then flowed into Lilith's heart like a soft body, destroying and replacing the function of the organ in a short moment.

Ian clenched his fists tightly and watched as it all happened. In this time period, he is just a "non-existent person" after all, and no matter how he swings his sword, he is destined to be impossible to change the established ending.

And just as he bit his lip unwillingly, the black shadow let out a sneer and muttered in a very soft voice, "Your luck is not good, Miss Lilith." Not only does it just have a suitable mental image, but it also has a knowledge far beyond ordinary people. ā€

"Presumably, when you wake up, you'll know what's going on in you, right? ā€

As he spoke, Shadow withdrew his dagger and empty box, and slowly stepped back. As he was about to leave the tent, he suddenly turned his head and looked at the "dead" girl with a mocking smile: "Goodnight, then, Miss Lilith." ā€

Hearing this smug greeting, Ian almost wanted to greet his face with his fist. But just as he lifted the curtain and tried to catch up, he found that the shadow had disappeared strangely, as if it had completely disappeared as soon as he left the tent.

Ian was stunned for a moment, and after confirming that he had lost the other party's trace, he looked back at the sleeping Lilith with complicated eyes, and finally sighed helplessly after a moment.

......

When dawn came, the sky above the Infernal Wasteland was still gray.

Lilith woke up from her slumber. She faintly felt that something was wrong with her body, and there was a circle of red on her chest.

She hurriedly uncovered her blouse, only to find that there was a very thin hole in it.

A bad thought suddenly rose in her heart, and she reached out and pressed it on her right chest.

There, the sound of the heartbeat that should have been there was gone, but the sound of tentacles moving within the body was clearly audible.

She was terrified, she was terrified, and she searched for the knowledge in her mind like crazy.

After a long time, one possibility was inevitably confirmed.

"I'm dead?"

Under Ian's complicated gaze, the blonde girl was stunned and muttered in disbelief.

When I woke up, I found that I was dead, but it was clear that I should be surrounded by my companions.

She lifted the curtain and looked at the early students in the camp, and a silent question sounded in her heart.

"Who killed me?"
