Chapter 292: The Garden of Bones
Bypassing the 'Negative Spirit' that wandered around (this thing explodes when killed, Barrett doesn't want to provoke it), our Death Knight slows forward a short distance before seeing what the Constructed Raven is reporting.
That's a lot of bones, and Raven 'Corn' is not wrong, and there are quite a lot of them. Strictly speaking, the large pile of yellowed bones should be a cemetery composed entirely of large and small skeletons.
In the fence formed by bone spurs in the cemetery, there are many bone tombstones densely placed. All the tombstones are arranged in a scattered pattern, guarding the central church-style building. Huge ribs form the walls of the building, and the roof and entrance to the building are the skull of a nameless beast with two horns.
In front of the Chapel of Bones, there stood two statues of skeletal griffins, griffons with jagged bony wings and a saddle made of finger bones, but no rider existed.
To the right of the church building is a small conjuring tower more than three meters high. The tower is made of thigh bones of humanoids, and at the top of the tower are four eerie white bone skulls.
Barrett walked around the cemetery briefly, and based on the shape of the facial bones and teeth of the four heads at the top of the tower, he vaguely judged that they belonged to humans, elves, orcs, and trolls.
"It's scary here, big uncle!" the little ghost timidly leaned over to Barritt, his cold little hand wrapped around his colder arm.
"And you still want to raise that little bone beast?" Barrett replied casually, touching Eve's little head.
"It's different!" said the little ghost, tilting his head, "that little bone beast is cute, and these big bones are really terrifying. As she spoke, the pattern on the little ghost's dress changed to a tongue-out, nose-wrinkled grimace she made herself.
Barrett remembers that the last time she entered the Nameless Plane, little Eve didn't do this to change her spirit, and it seems that her rest in the trinket 'Eternal Sleep' (or maybe because of boredom) has further deepened her control over her ghostly spirit.
Turning his mind around, he carefully surveyed the whole bone cemetery in front of him. It seems that this cemetery is just some kind of strange facility unique to the dark realm, and no enemies have been found yet. If it weren't for the crow 'corn' to lead him here, he shouldn't have been allowed to come and visit.
"Is this what you call the enemy?" he asked the raven, "what is it?"
"Garden of Bones!" Raven jumped on the back of the Nightmare Beast and pecked Barrett's iron glove holding the reins, "Garden of Bones, Garden of Bones!"
Helplessly, Barrett took out a small handful of corn and fed it to the ravens one by one, and muttered to himself, "The Garden of Bones, do the bones in here still move?" He stared at the skeleton griffin, glanced at the four heads at the top of the tower, and found nothing unusual for the time being.
"Huh, huh, it looks like it's moving!" said the little ghost, somewhat uncertainly. Immediately afterward, she exclaimed loudly, "Uncle Big Man, it really moved!"
Barrett scanned the skeletal griffon statue, the skull of the nameless beast, and the tower of the Conjuring Spirit, only to find them still intact. But the next moment, he also discovered what the little ghost had said.
It wasn't the movement of a single root or a bone, but the slow movement of the entire cemetery towards him.
Death Knight Barrett wasn't too surprised. This is not unusual, a pile of movable bones is a common thing in the dark realm.
This is the 'Garden of Bones', and it seems to be a super-sized undead creature in its own right! Then, he took out two rune swords from the spatial ring and poured the power of frost into the blade.
Because the negative energy overflowing in the dark realm will slowly corrode the metal, no matter how high the quality of ordinary weapons is, as long as they do not have the ability to resist negative energy, they will be slowly corroded and disintegrated, and finally reduce their quality or even become the scum of a place.
The weapons after the rune are forged can completely counteract this corrosion, but the rune weapon is not for the living, and the process of this melting is irreversible, so Barrett is reluctant to transform those weapons that are quite easy to use, after all, unlike other death knights, Barrett is essentially a living person.
In addition, only rune weapons can fully carry the power of the Death Knight, and every Death Knight has to create their own rune weapons with their own hands, and Barrett is no exception.
After arriving in the Dark Realm, he went to the Death Knight Camp in the Body of Eternity called the Fortress of the Peaktooth, and spent two days learning the Rune Forge skill from one of his fellow Death Riders. Later, he purchased two high-quality steel longswords from the quartermaster and forged them with his own hands using the rune furnace inside the fortress.
When he held the built rune weapon in his hand, Barrett suddenly felt extremely familiar and comfortable in his hands, as if the two swords were an extension of his body and will, a feeling he had only experienced before with the weapon of the 'Iron Bride'.
The Death Knight is fully familiar with the runic weapons they forge, and each runic weapon can only be used by the Death Knight who crafted it. As the female death knight who taught Barrett the 'Rune Forge skill' said, "There are many similar weapons in the world, and these two are yours alone!"
The huge 'Garden of Bones' moved faster and faster, and the distance to Barrett was getting closer and closer. Eve didn't wait for Barritt to ask, and obediently returned to the ornament.
The cosmetic 'Eternal Sleepland' can only be activated after the little ghost is stationed, and all undead damage (both physical and magical) taken by Barriet is reduced by 20%.
And Barrett, who has this attribute, even has the confidence to challenge the bone dragon, if he can encounter it.
The 'Garden of Bones', which is suspected to be a super-large undead creature, the first wave of attack is the two skeleton griffin statues. The two skeleton griffins first stiffened their lower bodies on the base of the statue, and then flapped the pair of skeleton wings, and with the help of the extremely rich negative energy of the plane, they awkwardly glided into the air.
The two skeleton griffons hovered in the air, one left and one right, and after a few seconds, they swooped down like meteorites towards Barrett.
