Chapter 30: March of the Solitaire Legion

"Welcome to the land of cards, adventurer. Nubis said with a smile on his face.

Although Nubis said so, Naxi and Lidona were facing Naxi and Lidona with the same haze as the haunting woodland, and it was completely impossible to see where Nubis's card kingdom was.

After discovering that the door had been closed, Naxi felt a little uncomfortable: "I said Nubis, you are playing with us." There is no such thing as the kingdom of cards you are talking about, except for the white fog. ”

Naxi's words made Lidona wonder if it was Nubis's prank, and just as she was about to catch the guide elf and give her a hard lesson, she suddenly heard some strange sounds coming from the mist.

Naxi heard it too, and at first he could only tell that it was a rhythmic drum beat, like the beating of the drums as the army marched. When the voices got closer, Naxi noticed that there seemed to be a neat chorus.

The sound got closer and closer, and Naxi and the others focused their attention on the looming chorus, not realizing that the fog that covered everything was slowly dissipating

Everyone puffed up

Don't forget the glory of inheritance

We are the heroes of the kingdom

It is a tradition to dedicate oneself to one's country

The continent is turbulent

Shadows obscured the sky

We are brave and not afraid of war

Rush forward at the critical moment

Swords and halberds intersect and war drums

Bright flags stained red with blood

Minor injuries do not retreat, and the fighting spirit is stronger

Rush forward bravely

We are the heroes of the kingdom

Da-la-da-

Da da

The rhythmic beat of the drums and the comical but majestic chorus came from far and near, and Naxi was completely enchanted by the somewhat lovely chorus.

In the town he had watched the Tarak Frontier Regiment as they passed, and they were marching to the same rhythmic drums, except that they did not have a chorus of military songs as in the fog.

When the fog that blocked Naxi's vision cleared, a queue with a strange military appearance appeared in front of Naxi and the others.

"This is the Solitaire Man!" Naxi was shocked when he saw the neat queue.

The bodies of these soldiers in a distinctly fairytale style turned out to be square cards, and each of them was marked with the same symbol as the card. What surprised him even more was that the card soldiers were arranged in squares, clubs, hearts, and spades, and on either side of the queue, there was a group of cavalry that followed at a constant speed to the right of the large army.

At the far right of the infantry ranks, several drummers beat a neat rhythm that matches the march of the ranks.

The entire queue was orderly and the movements were uniform, and the military discipline of this army was many times stronger than the Tarak border regiment that Naxi had encountered.

The fog had cleared at some point, and Naxi and Lidona were finally able to see the full extent of this strange team. It was a small phalanx of more than a hundred people. The infantry phalanx consisted entirely of card soldiers with numbers marked on their chests, the first team of square shieldmen, the second team of plum halberders, and the next two teams of longbowmen with short swords.

To the right of the infantry were the knights in chain mail, who naturally had the rest of the JKQ markings, but to his surprise there was only one knight of spades.

Behind these strange card armies, a huge fortress like a fairy tale towered in the distance, and Naxi could faintly see the colorful flags fluttering high.

Naxi probably counted the two cards that appeared in front of them, but they didn't see the king and queen in the cards. This made Naxi feel a little strange, but he didn't want to investigate why he didn't see the king and queen for the time being, and what threat the army in front of him was the most important thing to consider.

The advancing queue also spotted Naxi and the others, and the Knight of Spades who took the lead raised his hand, and the Knight of Hearts who followed him shouted:

"Stop!"

As soon as the words fell, the team stopped, and the rhythmic drum beat also stopped.

After the team stopped, another Knight of Hearts burst out of the cavalry and came to a halt at a gallop in front of Naxi and Lidona.

"Who the hell are you guys and what are you doing here? The Knight of Hearts shouted, his domineering attitude as if he had mistaken Naxi and Lidona for suspicious figures.

This tone made Lidona super unhappy, if it weren't for the disappointing encounter with Nubis in the fifteenth labyrinth, it is estimated that the ice beauty would have drawn her sword directly and beckoned her. Not sure what would happen next, Lidona had to endure and wait for Nubis to see what she might suggest.

When Naxi saw the majestic Knight of Hearts coming, he suddenly felt a feeling of weakness in his legs. You must know that there are not many knights in your town, and those who can become knights are rich people, and you can't compare with a poor man like yourself. Even if he is a magician, if he encounters these arrogant knights on the road, he must bow his head to give way to their high-headed horses

But when he saw that Lidona looked down on the Knight of Hearts, most of the groveling in his heart disappeared, and his waist straightened. Now I am not just a humble junior magician, I am also an adventurer who is not afraid of anyone.

Just as he was about to ask Nubis how to deal with the visitor's inquiry, Nashi found that the guide elf who had been following him had slipped away and didn't know where to hide.

"Damn, looks like we're going to be cheated by this guy Nubis. Naxi scolded secretly. But it can't be helped, they have to respond to the Knight of Hearts' cross-examination.

"We, we were passing through, ready to go to the glacial snowfield. Naxi said with a flattering face.

Naxi didn't know if the fairytale-looking card knight would understand him, but in Naxi's opinion, if he could avoid strife, he would try to avoid it and move on to his next destination safely.

"What, you dare to offend the king and queen of our card kingdom, don't you know that this is a capital crime?" said the Knight of Hearts, his disdainful eyes already treating the Naxi and the two as invaders. While scolding Naxi, the Knight of Hearts' right hand was already holding the sword hanging from his waist, and the spear he was holding in his left hand also fell slightly, ready to aim at Lidona.

The Knight of Hearts' answer made Naxi wonder how he could say such a thing as he didn't say anything to offend the king and queen.

While Naxi was still pondering how to answer the Knight of Hearts in order to clear up the misunderstanding, Lidona had already begun to do so.

Before the Knight of Hearts' spear could be pointed at her, Lidona pulled out her sword behind her with lightning speed, leaned forward, and swung the sword in her hand. After a flash of cold light, the Knight of Hearts, who was sitting on the horse, was stunned, and then his upper body slowly slipped off and became two broken pieces. The brown horse under his crotch couldn't stand the fright, and ran back to the group with the remaining half of the Knight of Hearts.

"Miss Lidona. What are you doing here?" Nacy didn't expect Lidona to strike first, and she split the Knight of Hearts in two with a single sword.

"I hate it when someone points a weapon at me. Lidona kept talking.

Seeing that the cards on the opposite side had begun to attack in array, Naxi's whole person collapsed: "Sister, you can't bear it." ”

"Can't!"
