Chapter 30: Mystery 3

“”

With a deep groan, he walked over to the two servants on duty and kicked one of them in the calf.

But the guy didn't move, nothing happened.

Ron reached out and touched the man's snort, rolled his eyelids again, and then straightened up.

"Sleep Dead"

He frowned, his gaze swept around.

In the entire makeshift camp, only a few campfires made the soft 'crackling' sound from time to time, and the rest were silent.

Even the occasional snoring sound before is gone.

'Whew'

Another gust of night wind blew the woods in the darkness 'sizzle'.

"What the hell?"

A creepy feeling made Ron's heart slightly wary.

After thinking about it, he walked to the nearest tent and pulled it away gently.

Inside lay a thin young servant, with his eyes closed, his abdomen slightly undulating, as if he was sleeping soundly.

Ron patted the servant's bare foot with his crosssword, but nothing moved.

He reached out and was thinking about pinching the other's nose.

'Click!!'

Suddenly, not far behind him, the crisp sound came again.

With a 'snap', Ron suddenly flashed out of the tent, his eyes quickly looking in the direction of the sound.

Through the flickering bonfire, he saw a vague black figure disappear in the dark woods.

"That's??" Ron was slightly stunned.

Although it was only for a moment, he was sure that he had seen a man standing there just now.

Squinting slightly, Ron lit a torch from the campfire and slowly walked towards the woods.

"Let me see, what the hell is it!?"

In his previous life, he was an atheist and did not believe in any gods and ghosts.

And in this world, although I have seen a little bit of the mystery of this world, I still don't believe in these things.

So, he was sure, the anomalies in the camps, and the sound, were man-made.

It's just that Ron didn't know what method the man was using.

Soon, Ron walked over to where the voice was coming from.

The floor of the woods is covered with a thick layer of rotting leaves, and stepping on it gives you a soft feeling.

Squatting down, he swept around with a torch, and suddenly he saw a series of messy footprints reflected under a large tree, and in addition to the footprints, there were two or three broken branches on the ground, as if this was the sound that came from.

"Sure enough!"

Touching the footprints, Ron looked up, the messy footprints continuing deep into the woods.

"Is this trying to lure me there?"

At night, it was pitch black in the depths of the woods, and even with a torch, many things could not be seen clearly.

After a moment's thought, Ron slowly retreated towards the camp.

Since the owner of this footprint had put down most of his servants in advance and kept him alone, he didn't want to alarm the others.

If he rushes in, no one knows what will happen.

However, when Ron first entered the camp range.

Suddenly, a feeling of being watched appeared behind him, just like when he had been in the passage room.

"Who'!?"

He jerked around, but there was nothing eerily there.

"Delusion??"

Ron's gaze swept over the campfire, the two servants still asleep in that position, and the tents around them were quiet. But he had a faint feeling in his heart that something was wrong.

'Flutter Flutter Boom'

In his confusion, the sound of wings stirring rang out from the quiet woods behind him.

Ron looked up, and on the branch of a large tree, a large bird with gray feathers appeared at some point.

The big bird seemed to be some kind of falcon, its two sharp claws reflecting the flames of the fire, reflecting the metallic color, and its eyes were strange red vertical pupils, motionless, staring at him like a human.

"Big Bird?"

As if thinking of something, his gaze immediately turned to the place where the footprint had just been.

In the dark shadows of the woods, a tall figure was slowly approaching.

Seeing the appearance of the figure, Ron tightened the cross sword in his hand, and slowly retreated while being wary of the strange big bird on the branch.

"Who are you!?" he exclaimed. "If you get any closer, you're welcome!"

Ignoring Ron's warning, the figure suddenly stopped and beckoned to the bird.

Suddenly, the big bird crouching on the branch flew to the figure's right arm.

"He killed Penny!? 'they're the one's" The figure's voice was very dull, as if suppressing anger. "An ordinary mortal?"

In response to the figure's inquiry, the big bird on his arm nodded humanely in confirmation.

"Okay, I see, thank you. ”

The figure's arm flickered, and the big bird immediately flew out again.

Watching the big bird fly away, the figure turned around, moved his neck from side to side, and touched his backhand behind him.

With the sound of 'hiss' metal grinding, a wide giant sword was slowly drawn.

And as the figure approached, Ron saw the man's face clearly.

It was a tall, burly man in pitch-black leather armor, with a hideous look on his vicious face.

Among them, what made Ron care the most was that this man's eyes were blood-red, just like the woman at the beginning.

The man stared at him as he approached.

"Boy, I don't know how you killed Penny, but since you did, be prepared to bear the consequences!"

As he spoke, he didn't wait for Ron's reaction and rushed towards him like a cannonball.

'Bang!!'

The greatsword brought a whistling wind, and suddenly a loud spark exploded in the camp, and Ron's figure flew upside down.

'Hiss'

The boots made two deep furrows in the ground, and Ron's hands shaking unconsciously as he held the cross sword trembled, and there was a large gap in the blade.
