The term Mount Meru comes from a Brahmanical term, which is later quoted in Buddhism. Legend has it that Mount Meru is surrounded by the Aral Sea, and there are four continents and eight small continents on the sea. Mount Meru is composed of four treasures (gold, silver, glass, and crystal), with a height of 84,000 yuan (1 by ten may be about 13 kilometers, that is, 1.1 million kilometers), the top of the mountain is the emperor's heaven, and the mountainside on all sides is the four heavenly kings.

According to the "Chang A Han Sutra", the north of Mount Meru is the North Julu Continent, the east is the East Sheng Shenzhou, the west is the West Niuhe Continent, and the south is the South Ganbu Continent. [1]

The first volume of the Sutra of the Origin of the World, the first volume of the "Yan Fuzhou Pin" describes the specific scene of Mount Meru:

All the bhikkhus, half of Mount Meru, 42,000 by the middle of the decade, there are four heavenly kings' palaces...... On Mount Meru, there are thirty-three palaces, where the emperor lives. Thirty-three days, twice as up, and there was a night in the palaces of the heavens. Its night skyscraper, double upward, there is the palace of the heavens of Tushita to live. Its Tu rate day, doubled upward, and there is a palace of the heavens to live. It turns into Lotte, doubles up, and has him to live in the palace of the heavens. Others are free in the sky, double upward, and have the palace of the Brahman body and the heavens to live. The others incarnate in the world of Brahma, and in the middle of it, there are palaces of the Demon Bo Xun to live. On Befan's body, there is a light sound sky. Double the light and sound of the sky, there is a pure sky. Doubling the net above, there is a wide fruit sky. On the fruit of the breadth of the world, there is not much heaven. Guangguo heaven, not the world, in the middle of which there are heavenly palaces to live, called the dwelling of thoughtless beings. There is no annoyance on the day. Don't be annoyed, and have a good view. Seeing the good, there is goodness. Beishan is now the palace of the heavens of Aganida...... On Ajanitha, there are all kinds of beings, the names of the boundless void in the heavens, the boundless knowledge of the heavens, the heavens of non-possession, the heavens that do not think or think......., and these are the dwellings of the heavens...... If it is, if it is the boundary, if all living beings live, if it comes and goes, if it is born and destroyed, and the marginal is extreme, it is the world, all living beings, there are births, old ages, deaths, and falls in the .......

The Buddhist cosmology asserts that the universe is composed of countless worlds, a thousand worlds are called a small world, a thousand small worlds are called a middle world, a thousand middle worlds are a large world, and a combination of small worlds, middle thousands, and large worlds are collectively called three thousand worlds, which is the incarnation of a Buddha. The lowest layer of each world is a layer of qi, called the wind wheel, above the wind wheel is a layer of water, called the water wheel, above the water wheel is a layer of gold, or hard stone, called the golden wheel, above the golden wheel is the earth composed of mountains, oceans, continents, etc., and Mount Meru is located in the center of this world.

Legend has it that this mountain has eight mountains and eight seas around it, 80,000 into the water, 80,000 from the water, and 80,000 from the water, and the amount of length and breadth is the same. There are 320,000 around it. It is made of four treasures, gold in the north, silver in the east, glass in the south, and pears in the west. And the color of the void in the four directions of Mount Meru is also reflected by these treasures. The Seven Seas (Inland Sea) between the Seven Golden Mountains and the Sumeru Mountains are full of eight meritorious waters, and there are Tiewei Mountains outside the Seven Golden Mountains separated by the Alkali Sea (Outer Sea), and there are four continents in the Alkali Sea: Yudan Yue (north), Fupoti (east), Yan Futi (south), and Quyani (west), which is the so-called "Four Continents of Sumeru".

Among the mountains listed above, Mount Meru and Mount Qijin are both square, and only Mount Tiewei is round. The above nine mountains and eight seas are supported by three wheels. The wind wheel is at the bottom, and its volume is innumerable, and the thickness is 1.6 billion. There is a water wheel on it. The upper part of the water wheel is condensed into a golden wheel. The depth of the water and gold wheels is 1.12 billion yuan, and the lower 800 million yuan is the water wheel. And the width of the two wheels is 1,23,450 years in diameter. Originally, due to the increase of sentient karma, the wind wheel was born, relying on the void, and according to the karma of sentient beings, the big clouds and rain rose, and on the wind wheel, it accumulated into a water wheel, and because the karmic wind rose, it hit the water, and the upper part became a golden wheel. This is the attachment of sentient beings, that is, in the physical world, and the sentient beings who live here have the six pleasures of heaven, man, and asura.

Among the heavens, there is a difference between the earth dwelling in the sky and the empty dwelling in the sky, and the six desires of the heavens, the four kings and the two heavens belong to the earth, and the heaven is located on the top of Mount Meru. The Four Kings are located on the fourth level of Mount Meru. Below the third level of Mount Meru, there are the dependents of the four kings, the Yaksha gods, the third layer is called Heng Xian, the second layer is called the Holder, and the first layer is called Jianshou. In the palace of the Seven Golden Mountains and the Sun Wheel and the Moon Wheel, there are also the dependents of the Four Kings and Heavens. There are *four Zen and sixteen days on the six desires (desire realm), and there are even more *four days without * on it.

According to the support of the above three rounds, the land composed of nine mountains, eight seas, and four continents is called the One World or One Sumeru World. A thousand Sumeru worlds are called the middle thousand worlds, and a thousand times the middle thousand worlds are called the great thousand worlds. Because there is a difference between small, medium and large, it is called the three thousand worlds, which is the incarnation of one Buddha. This world is dependent on the sentient beings of the six pleasures and the twenty-five boundaries, and is called the material world as opposed to the sentient world.

Among the six pleasures, the hell (Naraku) is between 1,000 and 40,000 in the lower part of the South Yama Floating Continent, and there are the eight hot hells from the living hell to the infernal hell. His dependents belong to the hells, i.e., the Sixteen Wandering Hells, which are located at the four gates of each hell. In addition, the Eight Cold Hells are also nearby, and there are also lonely hells scattered in the South Yanfu Continent and the East and West Continents. One said that hell is fun in the mountains surrounded by big iron. Secondly, in addition to living in the south of Yanfu Continent for 500 years, the hungry ghosts also live in the human world. Animal interest is based in the sea, and it is all over the fun. The Asura Fun takes the foothills of Mount Meru and the Sea of Meru as its base, and it is everywhere to fight with the two heavens of the four kings. People live on four continents and their dependents on eight continents, but the southern continent belongs to the continent of Shamala, which is the residence of the rakshasas. The Four Kings, the Six Desires of the Heavens, and *, and the None* are all the dwellings of the Heavenly Pleasures.

There is a 33-day palace on the top of Mount Meru, which is the place where the emperor Shakti lived.
