Chapter 63: The Corridor (Saturday 1st Update)
Licking his somewhat dry lips, Ron cautiously walked to the door.
'Hiss'
The two-handed sword against the scabbard was slowly pulled out by him.
There was silence behind the door, no sound, but the footprints on the ground indicated that there was definitely something inside.
Ron narrowed his eyes slightly, paused, and stuck the torch next to the door, then reached out to grasp the handle of the door.
Twist it gently
'Click!'
The door opened a gap, but as Ron slowly pushed it open, a crisp voice suddenly sounded from behind the door.
'Jingle jingle ding. ’
The sound was like the sound of metal wind chimes, and Ron, who knew that he was exposed, simply pushed open the door and picked up the torch next to him at the same time.
'Whew'
The flames on the torches whistled as he waved them, and the dark room lit up.
Ron held his sword in front of his chest in case of a dangerous situation.
However, when Ron saw the entire room, which was also charred, he found that it was empty.
"What's going on, I'm clear"
Slightly stunned, he turned his gaze to the footprints on the ground, only to find that the small footprints followed a straight line and extended into a dark cabinet in the deepest part of the room.
Ron even vaguely felt that inside the cupboard, a small figure was staring at him motionlessly.
"Is it hidden? When I see who's pretending. ”
After a pause, he walked over to the cabinet.
Suddenly, Ron lifted his two-handed sword and stabbed it inside, then pulled it sharply.
'Tear!!'
The charred cabinet seemed to be a fragile piece of cardboard, stirring up a lot of dust.
However, among the scattered fragments of the cabinet, there was still nothing.
“”
Ron's pupils froze.
'Whew'
A cold wind came out of nowhere, blowing through the gap in the armor on the back of his neck, as if gently caressed by a cold little hand.
Goosebumps suddenly rose, and for a moment, an unusually cold feeling enveloped his heart.
Gradually, Ron unconsciously slowly retreated, and he raised the torch slightly, as if trying to let the light dispel the darkness of the room.
However, in this room covered with scorched marks, the light of the flame on the torch did not seem to have much effect, and the surroundings were still pitch black.
Feet move slowly, making a slight rustling sound.
And just as Ron was about to exit the room, his form stiffened.
Ron suddenly noticed that in the corner of his vision, behind his boots, a pair of cute red leather shoes were standing close to his heels.
The position of the two is equivalent to being close to back to back.
He felt a cold chill spreading behind his back, and his forehead was covered with cold sweat at some point.
'When'
Someone could ignore his vigilance and run behind his back, and at this point, Ron clearly felt that something was wrong.
Time passed slowly, and the little red leather shoes were still clinging to the back of his boots, motionless, as if frozen.
Struggling to contain the fear in his heart, a hint of ruthlessness suddenly appeared on Ron's face.
"In that case, then, die!!"
As soon as his body turned, the two-handed sword swept directly behind him with a whistling sound.
'Whew!'
'Bang!!'
The sharp blade of the sword grazed the half-open door, and instantly sliced the entire door in half, making a loud noise.
There was nothing behind Ron, and the series of tiny footprints on the ground were gone.
Only the broad footprints of his own walk.
"Damn it!"
Ron, who knew what was dirty, felt a chill in his heart.
He walked briskly out the door into the hallway and looked down.
The fire in the center of the hall burned quietly, and the surrounding salute items were well placed there, but strangely there was no figure.
The two half-breeds, including the groom, were gone.
"I'm X!!"
Ron cursed, and before he had time to think about it, he ran straight towards the stairs.
In this case, anyway, run out of this manor first.
'Oooo ’
The boots made a loud sound on the wooden ladder, but after a while, Ron's eyes lit up, and when his vision gradually became clear, he was shocked to find that he had somehow run to the third floor of the manor, which he had thought of descending the stairs.
Seeing this, Ron immediately turned around and wanted to jump directly from the railing, with his current physical fitness, the height of the three-story building was basically as long as the posture was correct, and he couldn't stand any damage at all.
However, when he turned around, he found that there was nothing behind him, no stairs, no railings, only an empty corridor filled with darkness.
"I***!"
The torches flickered in orange-yellow light, and Ron stood still with his sword in his hands.
Although he had watched a lot of horror movies in his previous life, he thought he was quite timid, but now that he is in it, he still feels a strong sense of danger, which is the fear that arises unconsciously in the face of the unknown.
In this case, though, fear doesn't make much sense.
Taking two deep breaths, Ron suppressed the discomfort in his heart.
"The first thing to do now is to get out and find those who disappeared if you can"
Thinking of this, he walked to the wall on the side of the hallway, reached out and pressed the wall hard.
It's hard and heavy, it's estimated that it's made of whole stones, and even with his current strength, it's estimated that it will be difficult to smash.
Brute force broke through the wall with little hope, and Ron shifted his gaze to the entire hallway.
The hallway is pitch black, without any windows, and there is a lampstand on top for candles.
By the light of the fire, Ron also saw that the walls on either side of the hallway would have brightly colored paintings hanging at intervals.
