Chapter 66: Breakfast
Early in the morning, Barrett pushed the door and walked out of the cold wooden house.
The night's deep sleep made his physical state recover a lot, and his full spirit made him feel the boiling hunger in his stomach. He moved his stiff neck, and prepared to go to the tavern he had agreed with Old Will.
At this time, the Bay of Pigs is a little deserted, far less lively than it is during the day or at night. The vast majority of people were still immersed in dreams at this time, and even the sound of the blacksmith's clanging iron had been cut off.
Passing by the thorny tent, Barrett saw a fair-skinned, tousled man setting up a drunken adventurer out of the tent.
The drunken man leaned on top of the lovely girl, squinting his drunken eyes, and kept arching his nose to her cheeks and neck. He put one hand on her waist, and the other hand kept trying to grab her breast*, but every time he was in mid-air, that arm hung down with all his strength, unable to reach the full* softness.
But the drunkard still subconsciously continued to act like this, and he didn't seem to give up.
"Elena, Elena......" the drunk murmured unconsciously, "let me kiss you, Hiccup...... Whew, I want to you......"
But the man turned his head sideways, "Let's talk about it when you can get hard." She said in disgust.
The woman staggered out of the thorn-covered tent with the drunken man, and because of the drunkard's turmoil and dishonesty, the long skirt on the man's body was scraped open by the thorn bushes.
She cursed in a low voice, and staggered forward a few steps, and when she got out of the thorn bushes, she brought the drunkard to the side of the road, straightened up, and gasped, the full *soft* place rose and fell with her breathing, which was very tempting.
The drunkard lay on the ground, his arms still raised in the air from time to time, and he cried out "Elena, Elena......"
But the man glanced at the drunkard on the ground angrily, leaned down, grabbed the drunkard's hand and rubbed it vigorously on his fullness a few times.
"We're clear. "You'd better be sober next time, and at least remember what my name is." My name is Ariel, not Elena. Who knows which shameless bitch this Elena is. ”
She got up and prepared to return to her thorn tent, and when she found Barrett coming from not far away, she smiled seductively at the brute.
Barrett smiled in response and shook her head politely. The other party immediately rolled his eyes and turned to leave. But as he walked, he looked down at the scratched hole on his long skirt, and muttered something dissatisfied.
I should have stayed here yesterday for the night, not in that dilapidated wooden house. Barrett looked at the tents standing among the thorns, and thought silently to herself.
......
When the barbarian came to the tavern of 'Fortune, Fortune', the tavern had not yet opened, and he knocked with his right hand on the iron-clad oak door. After three heartbeats, he switched to his left hand and tapped it again.
The bright golden sign on the edge of the tavern door shook uncontrollably, and when Barrett knocked on the door for the fifth time, a sound of response finally rang out from behind the door.
"Here, don't knock, the undead in the cemetery have to wake you up!" the voice replied in a loud voice, from far and near, "Damn it, who's so early?" and then turned to a low curse. With a chaotic cracking sound, a small slit opened in the oak door, revealing a bloodshot eye.
"Why so early?" 'Eyes' asked.
"Eat. Barrett shrugged.
"Why is it so early?" the 'eyes' asked repeatedly.
"When I'm hungry, I naturally come over. ”
"Damn, the rooster won't get up earlier than you. The 'eyes' continued to curse, and then the door was completely opened, and a fat middle-aged man with a scruffy beard and a haggard face blocked the sunlight with his hand, frowned at Barrett and said, "Why don't you go to old Danny to eat offal?"
"Just came back from the forest and wanted something good. ”
"You're back alive?" the fat tavern keeper looked Barrett up and down, "and unscathed? ”
"Everybody says that. Barrett walked around the middle-aged man and into the tavern, "but there was nothing people could do about it." ”
He walked over to a table by the window and reached out to open the window, letting in the cold air. Outside the window there was a withered chestnut tree, and in the leafless canopy, two delicate bird's nests were barely exposed.
Barrett pulled the oak chair from the table upside down and sat down, "a rye beer, a gravy-roasted onion, and the seafood soup you used to make with clams, cod, and crab meat, a roast chicken stuffed with sweet corn and mushrooms, and some cheese and thick slices of bread fried in butter." Barrett sat down and looked at the tavern owner, "If there's anything new, you can come and get some." ”
He hadn't eaten since he had returned from the Misty Forest yesterday afternoon, and had slept all night on an empty stomach, and his appetite and appetite were now estimated to be on par with that of an ogre.
The owner of the tavern is known as 'Fat Donnie', but Downey is not his real name. God knows why someone called him that in the first place, but it didn't matter what his name was once everyone defaulted to him.
Downey is also a tavern chef, and his skills are very good, but his temper is not too good, and the price of the dishes is relatively expensive in a place like Bay of Pigs, so usually only adventurers with a lot of money will come to him for a meal.
"Rich?" asked Donnie.
"A little gain, or how will you come to this black-hearted place. Barrett replied. Few of the people who can return from the misty forest alive return empty-handed.
"Two days ago, a team of adventurers caught a ferocious boar nearly five meters long from the misty forest, it was really a big guy, it could easily fit three adults in its belly, it was really big!" Donnie said.
If you see the second frostworm we caught, you wouldn't think so. Barrett said in her heart.
"I took a pork leg. Donnie gestured with his hand to the size of the pig's leg, "The flesh on that leg is as hard as a stone, and I borrowed a warhammer and struck it for two days before it was soft." I've stewed pork leg with garlic, onions, and carrots, and I've been stewing it for three days today, so would I like to cut you into a small piece and try it?"
Barry nodded, "Here's a chunk, and give me some more sauce and some basil." ”
"I wish I could have such a good appetite as you. Donnie moved his fat body and turned into the kitchen.
Half a cup of tea, through the door of the tavern, came a woman in her thirties wearing a linen robe. When the woman entered, she saw Barrett sitting by the window.
"Mr. Barrett, so early?" the woman greeted Barrett, "I thought I was dazzled, the boss always slept until after noon before opening the door." ”
"There is no reason not to do business at the door. Barrett said with a smile.
"You have to deal with the bad guys when they come to the door. There was a shout in the kitchen.
The woman covered her mouth and smiled, "Are you done?" She turned and walked back into the kitchen.
The woman's polite appearance was out of step with the atmosphere of Bay of Pigs, but Barrett was used to it. This woman named Camille is said to be the daughter of a noble family, and her family seems to be the kind of old family with a bit of history.
However, as a young man, Camille eloped with an adventurer, and in order to escape the family's pursuit, the lovers traveled through the griffon kingdom before finally arriving in Bay of Pigs.
Unfortunately, Camille's lover stayed forever in the Misty Forest during an adventure, and there are thousands of adventurers like him every year, and the Misty Forest is not a kind place after all.
The grief-stricken Camille did not return to the family because of this, nor did she become a lovely son because she was isolated and helpless. She lived alone in Bay of Pigs for nearly a decade, changing clothes, sewing leather armor, working as a waitress in a tavern, and caring for injured adventurers for the doctor.
She has always been self-reliant, and after several harassments, it was known that she would always have a sharp dagger under her robes. Not only that, but this woman is able to use weapons and really dare to fight for her life. After that, few adventurers would harass her again, and even some new ones who didn't understand the rules would be warned by other adventurers.
Bay of Pigs is a dirty place, but it also has its own rules and bottom lines.
The girl also had a dagger, and Barrett had a girl with burgundy hair in her mind, and although the dagger wasn't sharp, it could also cut bread and scare goblins......
As Barrett was thinking, Camille walked out of the kitchen with two plates.
"Do you have a good appetite? Camila said with a smile. She placed the two plates in front of Barritt and turned to the tavern counter to pick up a rye beer for Barrryt.
One of the wooden plates holds thick slices of bread with cheese and butter fried to a golden brown, while the other holds grilled onions with gravy. Steaming thick slices of bread and round, juicy pearl onions are a real appetite.
"The other dishes need to wait a little bit. Camille brought the rye beer to Barrett and turned back into the kitchen.
Barrett picked up a roasted onion dripping with brown gravy from a wooden plate and bit down into it, a crunchy click between her teeth. The sweet pearl onion, with its salty, rich gravy, burst from Barrit's mouth, causing him to let out a satisfied sigh.
The brute took another sip of cool rye beer, and sent the roasted onion to his stomach with rye beer, feeling that the best life was nothing more than that.
