Continental geography
The universe of Norse mythology is made up of nine worlds and is divided into three levels:
On the top floor is the "Asgard" -- , the abode of the Aesir gods, surrounded by a green field - Idawald, on the other side of a great river that never freezes.
The surface of the river is shrouded in a thick fog all year round, and the fog layer is constantly vortexing, covering the surface of the river, and the holy island is in the middle of the river. From time to time, tongues of fire loom in the fog layer, which is the electric light that breaks through the white waves of the reverse roll.
There are skyscraper* castles everywhere in the kingdom of the gods, and the rushing waves are constantly biting the feet of the castle. On the hill where the eagle crouches, there are endless palaces, the most ornate of which is Odin's "Gladsheim".
Its hall, Valhalla, is covered with spear tassels, its chairs are wrapped in silver, and in the center stands the golden throne (Hilidskjalf), from which Odin, the father of the gods, looks around the heavens and the earth.
The "World Tree" shades the Golden Palace, the castle where Odin, the father of the gods, lives, and the rooster with a golden crown stands at the top of the golden roof of the castle, which is responsible for awakening the gods every morning. When this rooster crows, the red rooster of the Nether Dead Country also responds to it, resulting in a noisy and sharp "time". Odin led the gods to live in this land, and after a great council, Odin decreed that there should be no bloodshed in the house of the gods. The gods also built a great smelting furnace, made many weapons and tools, and happily built their homes, and thus began the golden age of the gods.
In addition, there is another god - Vanaheim (Vanaheim), the realm inhabited by the Vanir (Vanir), where the life and reproduction of all things between heaven and earth, the sea and the wind, are all under the control of the Vanir Protoss.
Moreover, this protoss knows many mysterious spells that even Odin, the father of the gods, did not know. Frey, the god of the sun, and Freya, the god of love and beauty, belong to this god family.
There is also a creature called Elves or Elves in this level, who are maggots-transformed creatures from Ymir's corpse, and although they are not divine, they still possess a lot of mana. The light fairy was born very beautiful, and wore elegant and transparent clothes, shining brighter than the sun.
They love light and are kind and kind little goblins who live in the "land of elves (Alfheim)", the territory of the god of the sun, Fery. The goblins played happily under the bright light of Frey. They tend to the flowers, play with the birds and butterflies, and sometimes they can be seen dancing on the green grass on a moonlit night.
The second level is the "atrium" inhabited by humans, Midgard, which means the world in between. Surrounded by the sea, it leads to the "kingdom of the gods" where the gods reside via Bifrost, a rainbow bridge of three colors (ice, fire, and air) that crosses the void.
However, the Giants, the enemies of the gods, also live on this level. Their realm is called "Jotunheim/Jothuheim". The giants are tall, brutal and tough, and have a terrifying appearance.
In the far north, there is a giant eagle, and when he waves his wings, a cold north wind blows straight into the "atrium" - Midgard. Giantesses are ugly and scary, but there are also beautiful and touching beauties, such as Frey's wife Gerda.
Midgard is very rich, but the giant's habitat is full of rocks, cliffs, barren forests, and other terrifying ominous places. The signpost to the "Land of Giants" is the terrifying "Iron Forest" (Jarnvid), and there is also a legend that the "Land of Giants" is on the other side of the sea.
And to the north is the field of the dwarfs "Dwarfs" - Nidavellir.
There are also black gnomes living in the "land of gnomes" (Vat Alheim/Svartalfaheim) - Trolls, Gnomes, or Kobolds. These are also a creature transformed by the maggots of Ymir's corpse.
These gnomes are ugly. The long nose hangs loosely down on the lips, and the skin is a dirty earthy color. During the day, they hid in the shadows, and at night they came to the surface. These gnomes regard sunlight as their most feared enemy, as they turn to stone whenever they come into contact with it.
Their language is the echo of silence and no-man's land, where they live, either in the depths of the earth or in the crevices of the boulders.
Of all the creatures in the universe, the Dark Gnomes are the finest craftsmen, and many of their treasures are their masterpieces. At the same time, these black gnomes possess mystical powers and deep knowledge, and they also know the Runes script, not only to engrave it, but also to understand its meaning.
The lowest level is the "Land of the Dead" or "Land of the Mist" - Niflheim. It is a cold and foggy place, a place of eternal night, accessible only to the dead.
Its border is the Styx River Gioll, with a gold-encrusted crystal bridge, guarded by a skeleton-like old witch Modgud, who is bribed with blood. After crossing the bridge, you will come to the gate of the underworld, which is guarded by Garm, the hound.
In the land of the dead is a region called Nastrond, through which every evil deceased must pass through which they are immersed in ice fountains and bitten by poisonous snakes.
The southernmost part of the world is Muspelheim. It is not located in these three levels, and like Niflheim, the Land of the Dead, it has existed even longer than the primordial giant Ymir.
And what connects it all is a huge ash tree. It sprouts from the "past", flourishes in the "present", and extends to the infinite "future". The leaves are always green, its branches support the weight of the entire universe, and its roots run through the world.
After Odin killed the giant Ymir, this giant ash tree grew from Ymir's corpse, which is the cosmic core of the entire Norse mythology: the World Tree (Yggdrasil).
Its massive roots are divided into three main veins:
One reaches to Midgard, the land of giants, Jotunheim, and Niflheim. There is spring water next to the roots of the tree, nourishing the roots.
The spring that juts out into the "atrium" of the human world is the sacred well of destiny, Urdar Brunr, guarded by the descendants of Norvi, the father of Nott, the three goddesses of fate (Norns), who are responsible for irrigating the roots of the tree with the spring water and keeping the branches and foliage of the tree flourishing.
The three goddesses are called:
"The Past" -- Urd Wood
"Now" --Verdandi Verdandi
"The Future" -- Skuld Scotti
They distribute their lives to the Son of Man and designate the fortunes of all beings.
In addition, next to the roots of the tree leading to the "land of giants" is a wisdom well guarded by Mimir, a wise man, a wise giant, and the spring water gushes out of this spring of infinite wisdom and knowledge.
However, at the root of the tree leading to the "Land of the Dead" lurks a black dragon called "Despair" - Nidhogg. It and countless other snakes nestled on the trunk of the tree, gnawing on it.
At the top of the tree is an eagle with a goshawk named Vedfolnir squatting between its eyes, gazing intently at the heavens and the earth.
There are also four large deer galloping between the branches, chewing on the new sprouts, and the four large deer symbolize the wind in the four directions, blowing the branches.
A squirrel, Ratatosk, jumped up and down to provoke goshawks and black dragons.
All of this is hurting the "World Tree", and when one day they bite the sacred tree to death, the universe will collapse! Under this tree lies Ymir, a giant who does not like to be crushed by a heavy tree, so he keeps shaking his body to get rid of it. So the universe trembled, and this was the terrible earthquake.
Ragnarok
Ragnarok
Ragnarok
The constant conflict and struggle between the gods and the giants will surely lead to the final battle between the two major forces.
At that time, not only will all visible creations be destroyed, but even the inhabitants of the "Land of the Giants", "the Land of the Elves" and the "Atrium", the gods of the "Kingdom of the Gods" and the "Land of the Dead" will be destroyed along with the world in which they live. The end of the world -Ragnarok- Ragnarok is inevitable no matter what.
And there must have been a foreword before this terrible day of destruction was to come. The first sign was that humanity was facing a harsh winter that humanity had never seen before. The snow kept falling, the frost froze the earth, the bitter cold wind howled in the dark and dreary sky, and the storms and rains continued without sunlight.
There were three miserable winters like this one in succession, and there was no summer in between, and every day was a miserable day. All the hopes of summer were disappointed. The snow kept falling, and it was freezing everywhere.
In the bitter cold, the universe is filled with the shadow of war and conflict, and the beasts of the wilderness wander around in search of food. People no longer forgive and help each other, fratricidal, father and son, kill each other in an ugly competition of lust.
It is a world of sin and terror, where even the earth trembles and the sea withers and the earth cracks. There were too many dead to count, vultures swirling in the air to eat the dead, sin rampant, blood staining the land. The souls of countless sinners fought across the River Styx, and even the color of the river was obscured.
Tree of the World - Yggdrasil On top of the "Kingdom of the Gods", the golden-crowned rooster of the "Kingdom of the Gods" has been crying hoarsely, and the red flame rooster responds with a sharp cry from the bottom of the "Land of the Dead".
Iron Forest - On the top of the hill of Jarnvid, the Tempest's Vulture Eagle flapped its wings and roared in a raging storm, the sky and the earth were darkened, and the wolves chasing the sun and moon swallowed their target, and the earth cracked and roared.
Fenrir, the strange wolf that can open its mouth to devour the heavens and the earth, has now broken free from the spell that binds it, and the whole world trembles with it. The World Tree shook from its roots to the treetops, and the mountain collapsed and the ground cracked, and the gnomes living in the caves in the mountains fled in panic, unable to find the entrance to the cave.
The poison dragon Nidhogg also hollowed out the deep roots of the World Tree at this time, and the Great Tree was already dying. At this time, Jormungander, the serpent that surrounds Midgard, also wakes up from the mud bed of the seabed, churning its huge body, its long tail setting off huge waves to engulf the mountains of the "Atrium", and the sea water rushes into the sky of the "Kingdom of the Gods". From the mountain-like waves, the serpent raised its huge head, its whole body covered with poisonous spots, and the breath that erupted from its mouth turned into flames that scorched the sky.
At this moment of upheaval, an army of flames surged from the southern land of fire (Muspelheim), and they rode the waves of fire under the leadership of the giant Surtur. Surtur holds the Sword of Victory in his right hand and a raging flame in his left.
At this point, Loki, the god of evil and fire, has also broken free from the chains of eternal punishment and joined the side of the enemies of the gods, and the strange wolf -Fenrir follows him and runs to the "kingdom of the gods" together.
From the east, the giant Rymer at the helm rowed with the serpent Jormungander towards the "kingdom of the gods". Garm, a blood-stained hellhound on his chest, stands on a rock facing the abyss of gloomy sorrow and barks wildly.
Hela, the half-flesh-colored and half-blue queen of the "land of the dead", stands on a large ship made of dead man's nails, and the ship is loaded with an army of frost giants heading towards the "kingdom of the gods".
The army of giants crowded the rainbow bridge -Bifrost, the noise shook the universe, and the gorgeous Hongqiao finally collapsed and shattered under the ravages of the enemy. Mountains cracked, and rocks were scattered in all directions.
Heimdall, the guardian of the Celestial Yard, takes out the horn Gjallarhorn, hidden in the shadow of Yggdrasil, the tree of the world, and blows an emergency signal to summon the gods and heroes. The sound of the trumpet resounded through the sky, clearer than thunder, to report the unfortunate news to the "kingdom of the gods".
The armies of the gods quickly took their weapons and rushed out of the 540-gate Valhalla, formed up in formation across the field, and began to meet the giants, round shields clashing with each other, sharp spears flying in the air, like a dense shower, and the shouts shook the heavens and the earth.
On the eve of the decisive battle, Odin went to the Well of Destiny alone. I saw the three goddesses of fate sitting silently beside the withered tree of the world, with only a broken net by her side. Odin turned to Mimir the Wise, whispered a few words in his ear, and then turned and hurried back to the battlefield.
Both sides are here, and countless years of hatred will be resolved at once.
First up is the god Odin and the wolf -Fenrir, the vengeful troll who has broken the cursed locks and opens his jaws that fill the sky, spewing flames into the air, and his eyes swoop down on Odin with lightning bolts.

Odin raises his spear -- Gungnir (Eternal Spear) to meet him, his shining golden helmet, his dark blue cloak undulating behind his shoulders like blue flames, and stepping down on a Pegasus faster than the wind, worthy of the Lord of the Gods of the "Land of the Gods". Unfortunately, he had bad luck and died under the fangs of the strange wolf, Fenrir.
When Odin's son, Vidar, saw his father's tragic death, he immediately jumped at the wolf, Fenrir, grabbed his jaw and tore his jaw in half, and then stabbed a spear through the wolf's throat into the heart to avenge his father's murder.
Frey commands the undead heroes of Valhalla to charge towards Surt, but Frey's usual weapon, the Sword of Victory, is now in the hands of his enemies, and he only has a antler as a weapon. Frey was finally struck by the sword of victory in the hands of his enemies and was dying.
Garm, the Hellhound, licks his blood and rushes towards Tyr, the god of war, and after a fierce battle, both Tyr and Garm are mortally wounded. Loki's opponent was Heimdall, who guarded the Hongqiao, and after a long period of torture, Loki's appearance was terrifying, his face was as pale as death, and his long hair and beard stood unkempt and looked like strange horns. Heimdall's sword quickly decapitated the ugly head, but strangely enough, the severed head bounced off the ground and stabbed Heimdall in the chest, killing him.
Thor and Jormungander, the arch-nemesis, engage in a fierce battle, with Jörmungander's massive body tumbling to dodge Thor's mallet while spitting poisonous juice at Thor.
Thor was extremely angry, and threw the Thor's mallet at the head of the big snake, and in an instant the thunder roared and the thunder was dazzling, and the big snake stood up and spurted blood into the wilderness and fell to the ground and died. But Thor was also poisoned by the snake, and he shook in thunderous pain*, and after nine steps, the first warrior of the "kingdom of the gods" also died of rage.
The battlefield is littered with the corpses of gods and giants, the plains have turned into a sea of blood, and the black dragon "Despair" - Nidhogg flies over the battlefield, his wings making terrifying noises, greedily gnawing on the blood-stained corpses that still have a residual warmth.
The sky glowed as dark red as blood, dyeing the sky and the earth crimson. There are very few figures standing on the battlefield. At this time, Surt, who killed Frey, threw the flames in his hand into the sky, and in the raging flames like red lotuses, the entire universe was destroyed.
The "Atrium" has become a sea of fire, the pillar of fire runs through the universe, the smoke sweeps up the top of the mountain, and the World Tree that supports the universe, Yggdrasil, is also engulfed in flames and collapses.
The stars fell from the firmament, time was gone, and the charred ground shook and sank into the raging sea. As far as the eye can see, there are only monstrous waves, and the universe is left with only a dead silence and eternal darkness.
The world is ruined!
Afterward, the black dragon "Despair" Nidhogg crawls out of the lowest level of the World Tree and devours the bones that poison everything that remains
