Chapter 225: Wandering Underground (Part II)

Emerging from the 'Spawner' cave, Barrett and the others chose a brand new passage that they had never entered before.

This passage is quite spacious, but there are a lot of creatures inside. The rock walls are covered with cave beetles, millipedes, centipedes, inchworms, and some strange insects that cannot be named.

Most of these guys are gray or light white in color, and they silently gnaw on a very vigorous azure moss in this channel that has no fluorescent light.

This large moss is found throughout the passage, but it is not present in the 'spawner' cave outside the passage. Perhaps it is the presence of these mosses that makes the creatures in the passage so diverse.

If your hearing is good enough, when you are quiet and listen carefully, you can hear the crawling sound of these insects and the tiny "squeak" sound they make as they gnaw on moss. Those subtle sounds were densely connected and everywhere, making people have to shiver because of this.

"I hate bugs, I hate them!" William shuddered as he walked in the middle of the road, keeping himself as far away from the rock walls as he could be.

"How did I not know before?" said Weimar, who was also in the middle, "why didn't you say that when we used to eat roasted grasshoppers together?"

"The point is, there are so many of them, they look so weird, and they're so close to us that they're crawling around us, it makes my scalp tingle. William complained, "Look, look! that moth has a centipede-like belly, my God!"

"It was a moth bitten by a centipede, you idiot!" said Weimar. Then he patted Barrett, who was walking at the front, "Hey, big Nord, why did you only call me 'Sir Fake', but you didn't care that the guy behind me was called 'Fool Squire'?"

"Because he's not stupid enough to be that right. Barrett replied casually, looking around from time to time.

"Don't you really have the slightest fear that they'll fall from above on your head or neck, and crawl straight into your collar?" William whispered, holding a hand tightly on the neckline of his leather armor.

These messy, crawling little bugs are very uncomfortable, and Barrett would have preferred them to be bigger, if they could be like frost spiders and fire ants, but they would be easier to accept.

These bugs aren't the most important thing to look out for, though.

"I'd suggest you pay more attention to the green moss around you than those bugs. "It's best not to touch them." ”

The moss sounded familiar, similar in appearance to the parasitic azure moss of the 'Fluffy Carpet' area of the Misty Forest.

It's just that the 'fluffy carpet' area has become very rare because of the presence of those parasitic mosses (without Xiaoqing, there is no life), and the mosses here nourish a wide variety of creatures.

"Don't worry, even if you beg me to touch it, I won't touch it. "Maybe there's something strange hidden in those shaggy mosses, maybe it's a winged spider, if it exists......

A gray newt about half a meter long in front of Barrett had been following them in the passage for a long time. Whenever the light from the 'Illumination' stone shines on the newt, it will quickly climb a few steps forward and disappear into the darkness. But as Barrett moved on, he noticed that the newt was stopping and waiting, and turned his head to look at them.

This strange 'tail game' continued for a long time, until a body of water appeared in front of Barrett and the others, and the gray newt slipped into the dark water and disappeared.

The water that suddenly appeared in the passage was clearly beyond everyone's plans. Barrett took out another glowing stone and threw it violently forward, and the point of light was wrapped in a huge force and sped forward, illuminating the scene along the way.

After flying a distance of about 100 meters, the water disappeared, the hard ground reappeared, and the glowing stones fell. After a few bounces on the ground, it landed next to a bowl-shaped mushroom, illuminating the dark red mushroom.

"Are we really going to jump in and swim forward?" asked Weimar to Barrett.

The distance of 100 meters is not too far, even if you swim slowly, you will definitely reach the opposite side in two or three minutes. But if something dangerous happens in the water, it's not easy. However, if you don't go from here, you will have to go back more and make a bigger circle.

"Do you all know how to swim?" Barrett asked, turning around.

"I swim as fast as a swordfish. William said proudly. "This guy has never beaten me when he used to swim in the river with me!" he pointed to the 'Fake Knight', who pouted disdainfully.

"I'm okay too. Goblin said.

Blake nodded as well.

"Alright, let's move on. Barrett decided, "There is no risk that is not risky." After he finished speaking, he took a deep breath and jumped into the water first, and the sound of entering the water behind him came one after another.

The water was bitterly cold, and Barrett swam forward with all his might.

As he plunged his head into the water, with the glow of the glowing stones in his hands, he could see a lot of eyeless cave blind fish wandering back and forth, and some miserable white creatures that looked like shrimp and scorpions were hovering around the cave blind fish, as if preparing to hunt.

The scorpion-like tail of this miserable white creature reminds Barrett of the 'xenomorph shrimp' in the 'spawner' cave.

In fact, it would be more appropriate to call them 'xenomorphic amphibian scorpions'. Barrett thought as she swam.

The water is not as wide as the channel, but the area under the water is larger and deeper, like a lake with no edge in sight. It seems that this passage, along with the 'Spawner' Cave and a large area around it, are all in this body of water, and it is just a 100-meter breach that has collapsed in front of it.

So, how deep is it? Sudden thoughts flooded Barrett's mind. He wasn't a curious person, but the thought was suddenly strong.

Anyway, there are a lot of glowing stones, and it's okay to do it, the barbarian thought.

Barrett leaned out of the water to take a few breaths and then looked at his companions. He noticed that Wilhelm and Weimar had swam in front of him, and were about to reach the opposite side, and that Blake had swam directly past him in the few breaths he had stopped, and only Gary, the goblin, was a little slower because of his size, but only a few meters away from him.

Apparently all was going well, Barrett plunged headlong into the water and released the pebble from his hand, allowing it to sink slowly. The light is limited in the water, and the distance is narrower, but some strange creatures can still be seen.

Several lamprey-like scaleless eels loomed around the point of light, some disc-shaped beetles and slender leeches swam slowly, and a small, pure black creature flashed within the point of light.

Barrett leaned out of the water to change his breath, then plunged deep into the water and continued to swim forward.

He saw that the glowing stone had fallen deep and seemed to be resting on something. But that thing is never underwater, because the bottom should never be streamlined.

Immediately after, the thing caused by this streamline suddenly moved, and the glowing stone bounced up. Barrett realized that it was actually a strangely shaped fish, a strange creature that looked roughly about ten meters long, and actually had many tentacles, looking like both a fish and a squid.

Then, suddenly, he saw the large, streamlined creature swim with its tail waved again, and then disappeared into the range of the point of light. The glowing stones continued to descend in the dark waters, deeper and smaller, surrounded by claustrophobic darkness.

Barrett saw the direction in which the giant creature was last swimming when it vanished, and he suddenly realized that the creature seemed to be swimming in the direction of the water.

Gurgling, such a terrifying discovery made the barbarian subconsciously pour a few mouthfuls of water. Then he poked his head out of the water and shouted to the goblin beside him, "Swim, hurry!

......
