Chapter 278: Cave Roaming (Part II)

The group ran desperately in Barrit's direction, waving at him and shouting, motioning for him to hurry up the ladder and leave.

And as the group of people continued to approach, Barrett felt the ground under his feet actually begin to tremble faintly. The tremor grew stronger, accompanied by a rumbling sound, as if something was about to burst out of the corridor.

I'll go, it's a big guy!

Because the situation was unclear, Barrett decided to be on the safe side. He put away his knives and prepared to follow the instructions of the men and turn back to climb the ladder, after all, the group knew the situation better than he did.

The brute left the glowing stones for the men to help them illuminate the area, and then he turned and ran towards the wooden ladder, arriving here in a few breaths. And when he turned back to look at the group of people, he happened to see a huge purple worm rushing out of the corner of the corridor.

The huge body of the purple insect occupied almost all of the corridor, and after it appeared, it did not turn around the corner of the corridor like the group of people, but recklessly ran forward, dug through the opposite rock wall, and knocked out a new passage from the soil not far from the corridor.

"Oh my God, is the effect of the paralyzing potion lost so quickly?" the short-legged dwarf snorted as he ran.

"What's the use of talking about that now?" the human at the back pushed the dwarf hard, "Hurry, hurry, it's catching up!"

"But since my leg was injured last time, that's all I can do at this speed!" shouted the dwarf helplessly.

"Damn, I should have left you here!" the human at the back grabbed the dwarf by the collar, "Burton, come over here and help!" he shouted to one of the people in front of him.

The other party hesitated slightly, but chose to stop two steps, and ran forward with the human carrying the dwarf.

The soil and rocks that the purple insects had knocked into were scattered and splashed in all directions, and the scene was quite shocking. When it came out, it paused in the mined crystal cavern, then turned around to find its target and rushed towards the group again.

The running speed of the crowd is already fast, but it is still inferior to the purple worm. Barrett found that this group of people could not reach the ladder at all, and they would be chased by the huge purple worm that was nearly twenty meters away.

And so he expected. The purple worm had already caught up with the group when they were still a short distance away from the ladder. It opened its mouth, which was full of sharp teeth, and tried to swallow the group alive.

They scattered and fled, flying left and right, barely surviving under the first blow of the purple worm. One of them was knocked unconscious by the long body of the purple worm, while the dwarf held his left leg and bared his teeth in pain.

The severed human was armed with a sword and shield, and shouted at the purple worm. The other human also clenched his sword in both hands, but his whole body trembled.

Barrett hesitated twice, then jumped off the ladder, pulled out his twin knives from his waist, and struck at the purple worm.

The twin blades are extremely sharp, and their attack power is extremely terrifying due to the 'Defensive Penetration' and 'Hate of the Living'. However, these two weapons are not without their drawbacks when dealing with the purple worm, and the barbarian is very worried that the skill 'Severe Pain Invasion' attached to them will make the purple worm even more irritable and crazy.

In fact, against this kind of monster that is much larger than frost worms, the 'Tyrannical Touch', a heavy longsword that can be used with both hands, is more effective than a one-handed weapon like a scimitar.

However, Barrett's plan was to deal enough damage with his twin blades before switching to the 'Tyrannical Touch'. In this way, the 'Tyrannical Heart' effect attached to it (the worse the opponent's condition, the higher the damage), will make the weapon's attack power reach a considerable level, and the armor-reducing aura of the 'Fallen Guardian's Domain' will give the Barbarian the confidence to try the purple worm's color.

Moreover, the Purple Worm is not a magic beast, it does not have a strong frost breath, and there is no sarcoma on the top of its head that can emit a shocking tremor, it will only have two relatively simple attack methods.

For small creatures, swallow them alive or crush them, and for large creatures, poison them with a highly poisonous chela on the end of their tails, and then swallow or crush them alive......

The purple worm swallowed at the sword and shield human who had dared to provoke it, and its huge body swung sideways, knocking the dwarf sitting on the ground and the other human standing against the rock wall.

The sword and shield human dodged the attack with a flying pounce, and he got up and threw away the shield in his hand (because this thing can't stop you from being swallowed alive), and slashed at the purple worm with his sword in both hands.

The weapon slashed through the monster's body, leaving a deep sword mark, but the injury was only about the same level of itching for such a large monster.

Barrett took advantage of the person to attract the attention of the purple worm and walked in front of the purple worm with an arrow. He held the scimitar in his left hand and stabbed it fiercely into the purple worm's body. The right hand hits the end of the handle with a sharp blow, and the blade of the left-handed scimitar enters the body.

The brute roared loudly, pushing the sharp scimitar forward with his mighty force. The thick skin of the purple worm was cut all the way by the scimitar, and the stinking blood flowed from the wound.

It straightened up and raised its mouth with its mouth back, roaring angrily at the top of the cavern, and then swung violently to get out of the brute's rather painful "bite".

Barrett stabbed his right scimitar into the monster as well, trying to immobilize his body, but was still thrown out by the monster. He rolled twice to unload the force of the flung flight, and before he could get up, he heard the human shouting at him, "Hey, be careful!"

The barbarian didn't have to think about it to know that this purple worm was attracted by his attack.

However, he is not worried about it. Barrett half-crouched and saw the purple worm coming towards him with a thousand mighty forces, and the large mouth full of sharp teeth emitted a corrupt smell and a foul smell. He seized the opportunity and jumped lightly to the left, just avoiding the purple worm's big mouth swallowing alive.

The monster still ran forward with great inertia. The brute arched his body and stabbed the scimitar in his left hand into the purple worm's body again. His body was slightly staggered by the monster, but he still held on with his strong physical fitness.

The sharp scimitar once again made a deep hole several meters long in the purple worm's body, and the monster began to roll in pain, trying to crush Barrett into a meatloaf.

The scimitar in his left hand was pulled out by Barrett in time, and the monster's huge body, which was nearly twenty meters long, rolled sideways all the way towards him, forcing him to start running away in the opposite square.

If you want to run out of the purple worm's crushing distance to the left and right, I'm afraid it's a little too late, but the diagonal front of him happens to be the passage newly opened up by the purple worm, so you can go in and dodge, avoiding the danger of being crushed.

Barrett jumped through several mounds of rock and dirt and entered the passage just in time. After he entered, he immediately turned back to face the purple worm, and flipped the two scimitars in his hand up and down, stabbing straight forward with the blades facing up, waiting for the huge body to approach.

The purple worm's body slammed sideways into the rock wall, but Barrit, who had already hid in the passage, couldn't help it. The thinner tail of the second half of itself was stabbed straight by the scimitar, and in the subsequent tumbling rotation, most of it was cut by the two scimitars, leaving only a small piece of skin and bone connected.

The purple worm hissed again in pain, and it slowly shifted its body, trying to turn its head towards Barrett, its huge body trembling from time to time due to the pain.

Barrett ran out of the corridor and put away his twin knives, holding the 'Tyrannical Touch' in both hands, and confronted the giant monster with a grim face.

The huge monster bent its body slightly, facing the barbarian who was dozens of times smaller than it, but did not rush to attack, but hesitated for a moment, seeming to be a little afraid, before screaming and rushing towards the barbarian.

Barrett leaped to the side and dodged the attack with ease. Then, he found the right moment, jumped his body high, raised his hands hard, and then slashed down.

At this time, the purple worm's tail, which had been cut off by most of it, happened to come under the barbarian's sword. The 'Tyrannical Touch' raged all the way, brutally cutting off all the flesh and bones of the purple worm's tail.

The monster let out a scream of pain again, and the high-pitched sound resounded throughout the cavern. It then burrowed headlong into the rock wall, dug a new tunnel and fled into the distance, leaving only the chelicated tail in place.
