Chapter 24: Foreknowledge
"You made the right choice. A charming smile bloomed on Carlo's face, "Say your wishes, dear Cinderella." β
Cinderella pressed her pounding heart, and a voice in her heart told her that what she wanted was close at hand.
"I want to go to the prom.. No, I'm going to be a princess. β
"Yes. Carlo gracefully held out his right hand, "First you need a beautiful carriage." β
A spider the size of a fist crawled out of the crack, and with a flick of Carlo's finger, the spider quickly inflated like a balloon and then deformed.
A moment later, a magnificent, delicate, inlaid black carriage appeared in front of Cinderella.
"Then came the strongest steed. β
Carlo's fingers didn't stop, and the centipede that crawled out this time, its hideous appearance and thin whiskers made Cinderella feel a little sick, and she couldn't help but take two steps back.
Soon, however, the ugly thing turned into a black steed with strong tendons and a thick mane, and it was very beautiful.
"And the coachman and the attendants. β
Carlo's performance was not over, and the dense insects emerged from the cracks in the grass and turned into strong, beautiful, well-mannered squires, who were the most decent servants in the world if you ignored their strange red eyes.
"Oh my God. Cinderella couldn't help but cover her mouth, her eyes full of disbelief and irrepressible ecstasy.
It was a miracle, she exclaimed in her heart. Of course, it can also be a beautiful trap.
Cinderella can't wait to get in the car, and the handsome prince is still waiting for her at the ball.
"Don't be anxious, my dear. Carlo smiled and called out to an impatient Cinderella, "There's still work to be done." β
"What?" Cinderella blinked in confusion.
"Are you going to go to the ball like this?" said Carlo, looking Cinderella up and down, his tone teasing, "The carriage and the squires will not allow you to win the prince's heart." β
Cinderella blushed at the sight of her gray outfit, but soon became filled with greater anticipation.
"Noble .."
"Beautiful.."
"Elegant.."
Every word that came out of Carlo's mouth changed Cinderella.
Cinderella's scattered blonde hair was tied into delicate braids, sprinkled with crushed gold and colorful petals.
The shabby maid's outfit was transformed into a long, elaborate black dress made of surprisingly soft material, as if it were made of the finest velvet, and the skirt was embroidered with gold trim.
And at the feet, dirty old shoes turn into beautiful crystal slippers, shining brighter than diamonds.
"Alright. Like a magician at the curtain call, Carlo bowed slightly, and said with a smile: "Go and conquer your prince." No one shines brighter than you at the ball, and your beauty will tarnish even the moon. β
Cinderella looked at the earth-shaking changes in herself, and a great ecstasy welled up on her face.
She took two steps forward and kissed Carlo on the cheek: "Thank you, mysterious stranger. β
Carlo smiled intriguingly, "Don't thank me, Cinderella. It's just a deal, and it's fair. β
The delighted Cinderella didn't care about the word "deal" in Carlo's words, maybe she wouldn't have paid attention to it even if she did.
Carriages, attendants, evening dresses, and crystal slippers, which of these things can I afford?
It must be the mother who is blessing herself, this is the grace of the patron saint.
Cinderella got into the carriage and hurried anxiously to the palace, and Carlo watched her away.
It took five hundred evil points to learn the curse-based magic "Transfiguration", combined with a small illusion, it is really useful, at least, the time is not limited to twelve o'clock at midnight.
Once the demon's contract is signed, it is impossible to go back on it. Carlo chuckled softly.
Cinderella had the happiest night of her life.
When she got out of the carriage, everyone was amazed, and the palace guards were so photographed by her beauty that they forgot to ask her identity.
Cinderella quickly finds the prince of her choice and easily captures his heart. She was so beautiful and dazzling that the whole dance seemed to be her stage alone, and even the torches on the wall could not block her light.
The prince dragged her to dance all night, and Cinderella felt that her feet were almost exhausted, but she was in a better mood than ever.
For the noblewomen, including the odious Lady Temani and her two foolish daughters, all looked at her with amazement, envy, and jealousy, and this gave her vanity a great satisfaction.
For the first time, Cinderella experienced the thrill of being the center of attention, and she was addicted to it, like a child who fell into a poppy bush, knowing that the road ahead was an unforeseeable abyss, but still fell without hesitation, unwilling to wake up.
Cinderella returned home before the mother and daughter returned, and when the first rays of sunlight hit the earth, the carriage attendants turned into worms and fled, and Cinderella was even reluctant to give up these cute little things.
The evening dress and the crystal slipper also left her, and she became the unknown Cinderella again.
"Damn, where did that woman come from." Mrs. Temani was clearly in a bad mood, and her two stupid daughters continued to add fuel to the fire.
"She's so beautiful, her dress, her hairstyle... And her diamond shoes, have you noticed? There are still shoes made of diamonds in the world?"
"Idiot, that's crystal... All night, the prince's eyes were glued to her, and the women were focused on her dress and dancing shoes. Mother, I think we'd better give up."
"Shut up. Lady Temani roared, "You will become princesses, I swear!" Lady Temani's eyes flashed with a penetrating light, and she did not know what the hell she was thinking.
"Cinderella, damn bitch, get me to the tailor and order a few new dresses."
"Yes, dear lady. Cinderella felt an inexplicable humiliation, and she longed for the day to pass quickly, praying for the night to come, or, to kill the three vicious women, so that she could enjoy the beauty and dazzle of the day.
The goodness and beauty in Cinderella's heart were torn apart and swallowed up by the darkness...
This is the center of the continent, the most powerful kingdom of Oraton, with a vast land area more than ten times that of the Lore Kingdom.
Of course, it is also the center of the Holy See, the holy place of the clergy, the famous Knights of the Holy Light, the Pope, and the Holy Maiden all live here.
In the closed room, there was a violent coughing sound.
"Stop, you're going to kill yourself. Peter's eyes showed great compassion and love, and in front of him, a girl sat paralyzed as if she was "terminally ill."
Oh, maybe not a girl, for her face was aging rapidly, her smooth skin was wrinkled, and her long black hair was turning white from the roots.
Like an old woman about to die.
"Frequent use of the Eye of Foreknowledge will only drain your life force, and it makes no sense, Maria. The future is unpredictable, it can change at any time... You're squandering your talents. "Peter was dressed in a simple white robe, but the light of the light on his body made him appear more pious and noble than any other priest.
He is the Pope of this term.
"No, you're wrongβ" Maria's voice was like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other, dry and rough. She stretched out her withered branch-like arm and grabbed the crystal ball in front of her tightly, coughing and saying slowly, "Now the future is a foregone conclusion... All I saw from the Prophetic Eye was fire, death, and endless darkness."
Peter sighed and chanted a few syllables, and a misty white light from his hand fell on Maria's body, which made her look much better.
"I have sent four cardinals and all the knights, and King Olaton will also send troops to help... The souls of Oliver and Elijah will rest in peace.."
"The light will sweep away everything. β
Maria's eyes were full of worry and bitterness, I hope this is really the case...
