Chapter Eighty-Three: The Canyon of Wisdom

Con'ou's party entered the Tulu Gorge.

The ground inside the canyon is dry and cracked. A statue is carved into the wall of the canyon about 20 meters high.

The carving of the statue is simple, and only the eyes, nose and mouth are recognizable. It also holds a question-marked employee in both hands.

There are no other discernible features. It's big, but it doesn't look like a work of art.

Granno explained: "This is the Tulu statue. Tulu is known as the god of wisdom in the Bariton Desert. ”

"Is he one of the folk gods of the Bariton Desert, like Darra, the god of rain?" asked Conou.

"He's much older than Dara. The people of Bariton Desert believe that Tulu and Bariton Desert exist at the same time. ”

"I see. ”

Conou's party disembarks from their camels. They slapped their butts and made them disappear out of the canyon.

"Please follow me. ”

Granno led the way and walked towards the Tulu statue.

Between the feet of the statue, there is an entrance to the interior of the cliff.

"Inside. ”

Conou's banquet entered the entrance.

Grano retrieved a piece of fluorescent stone from his subspace.

He shouted, "Glowing stone," and the stone began to glow.

Its shape and the brightness of the light emitted are exactly the same as those of a light bulb.

Grano makes glowing stones float into the air through magic. With it, they will be able to see the inside of the cliffs.

It was a natural laterite-coloured tunnel. The walls are apparently made of solid rock.

However, there are unreadable letters carved into the walls.

"What are these?"

Cono stroked the wall. His fingertips could feel the shape of unfamiliar letters.

"These are the old letters of the Bariton Desert," Grano said. ”

"Can you read it?" asked Conou.

"I can. ”

Grano is definitely the foremost expert on the Barryton desert. After all, he had the ability to decipher the ancient texts of the Barriton Desert.

"What did they say?" Ed asked Conou what he was thinking.

"This is a test created by Tulu, the god of wisdom, to test the wisdom of humans. ”

"Quiz?" Ed asked.

"You are touching Mr. Conou where you are, asking: What does man have, and God does not?"

"What does God have without human beings?"

Cono thought about it.

He thought of several possible answers, but he didn't feel like any of them were the right answers.

"Someone answered about death," Grano said. ”

Con'ou and Eder nodded. Indeed, man died, but God did not.

The others replied to the mother. ”

"A mother?"

Conou tilted his head.

Even the gods have mothers. In Greek mythology, gods were born from other gods. It's like Zeus was born from his mother Rhea.

So why do they claim that God has no mother?

Conor didn't understand

Granno explains, "The gods of the desert are not born. The people of the desert believe that they have existed since the dawn of the world. ”

"Hmm. I understand. ”

Conou walked "Oh, I see" and moved on.

"So, the correct answer between the two is: death or mother?" Ed asked.

Grano laughed and said, "Because the correct answer is not written here, only Tours is the god of wisdom." ”

"We've looked at the quizzes and the answers, so it's embarrassing not to know which one is correct. ”

Ed's face wrinkled.

If you're going to take a quiz, then you should politely tell us which answer is correct!

"There's a quiz here to answer," Grano said. ”

"Really?"

Ed and Grano looked happy. It's time to move on to the quiz that was never answered!

"Yes. The answer is also our ultimate destination. ”

Conou's team followed Grano and continued deeper into the tunnel.

Eventually, they reached the finish line.

"This is..."

In front of them were two huge stone bowls.

Conou approached the stone bowl.

One of the bowls was filled with thumb-sized stones.

Conou picked up a stone. There is an ancient letter engraved on it.

He also examined other rocks.

"There are different inscriptions on each rock. ”

All the rocks are the same in size or shape, but the lettering of each letter is not the same.

"Hmm. ”

Conou put down the stone and examined the other stone bowl.

The other bowl was completely empty. However, the bottom of the bowl is engraved with ancient letters.

"What's written here?" asked Conou.

"What's my name?" said Grano.

"I'm sorry?" Conou asked, wondering if he had misheard.

"The question is what is my name?" is engraved on the bottom of the bowl. ”

"Really?"

Cono smirked

"Yes, really. ”

"Shall we answer the quiz with these rocks?"

Conou examined the stone he was holding.

"Yes. You just need to put the rocks with the appropriate letters in an empty bowl," explained Grano.

"Then we just need to spell our own name out of the rocks? Let's see..."

Ed pretended to walk through the rocks.

"Do you really think you can spell your name out of stone?"

Grano smiled.

"According to my thoughts. That's not the right answer, is it?"

Ed stopped his search and smiled.

"This is an unsolvable quiz unless you know the ancient alphabet of the Barryton area," said Ed. ”

In order to solve the quiz, it is necessary not only to be able to read the questions, but also to pick out the correct letters.

"Not necessarily true," Granos said. ”

"Why is that?"

"Because it was created by Tulu, the god of wisdom. Even if you don't know how to read letters, you should be able to solve the quiz. ”

"Really?"

Edel looked shocked.

"Yes. Do you want to try it?" asked Granno.

At that moment, Conou raised his hand.

"I'll give it a try. ”

Conou wanted to see if he could choose the right rock with his super instincts.

"Okay. Go on. ”

Grano and Ed took two steps back from the bowl.

Conou began to inspect each rock.

"As expected. Grano looked at Conou, nodded slightly, and muttered to himself.

"Hmm. ”

Whenever Cono examines a rock and doesn't feel anything, he immediately moves on to the next rock.

"Oh, as expected!"

The moment he grabbed the stone, his super-instinct exploded.

It feels like there's more to this rock! No, it's more accurate to call it a hunch.

Conou put the stone in the empty bowl.

"Oh. ”

When Granor saw which letter Conou had chosen, he could only look in awe.

The stone he chose was the correct answer.

Conou put the wrong rock aside and continued his search.

The second.

Conou quickly found the second rock through his super-intuition. He also put the stone in the empty bowl.

Third.

He also easily found the third rock and placed it in the empty bowl.

But as soon as he puts the third stone into the empty bowl, it starts to tilt slightly.

"Hu?"

Conou stopped to inspect the rocks and continued to observe.

Rattle.

He heard something being sucked in and saw a hole in one of the walls.

One can pass through it by lowering one's head.

[You've discovered the hidden dungeon, the testing ground of wisdom.] ]

[You're the first to discover it.] ]

[Fame increases.] ]

[When you hunt in the Wisdom Test Ground, you gain 2x experience.] The item drop rate has also been doubled. ]

The hole in the wall is the entrance to a hidden dungeon. He was also the first to discover it!

"Wow. How do you ......?" Ed asked Conou.

"That's..."

With his intuition, super instinct!

Conou intends to explain that he has solved the quiz intuitively. After all, it's true.

However, Granno interjected both then and there.

"It's because the weight of the rocks is different," Grano said. ”

"Excuse me?

Ed opened his eyes.

"Three of the rocks are heavier than the others. This is the correct answer. Isn't it, Mr. Conou?"

Conou just looked at it.

"Now that you mention it, the rock I picked seems to be heavier than the rest... Well, I guess it doesn't really matter. ”

Using weights instead of intuition to solve quizzes seems like a better answer.

"Exactly. ”

Cono smiled awkwardly and nodded.

"Ah, that's why you said that the quiz can be solved even if you don't know what they're writing. ”

Ed slapped his palm.

"Oh, you're amazing, Mr. Granno. How do you know?"

Edel looked at Granno with admiration and reverence.

Granor began, "When I first came here, I couldn't find the right rock. I tried to speak with the rocks, but nothing happened. ”

He held his breath for a moment.

"I sat down, thought about what might be the right answer, and suddenly found the answer. ”

"Which?" Ed asked.

It's as if he's saying, "Tell me quickly." I'm dizzy here.

"It doesn't matter the order in which you place the rocks. In other words, all you have to do is put the right rock in the bowl. ”

"Ahh ”

Ed nodded.

Cono remained silent, very interested.

"That's why I found that there has to be a difference between the right rock and the wrong one. It was eventually found that although they were the same size and shape, some of the rocks were heavier than the rest," Granno explained.

"As expected, I admire you, Mr. Granno. ”

Edel's sparkling eyes grabbed Granno's hand.

Granno's personality and intellect are top notch. Contrary to others he knew.

"Mr. Con'ou knew when he heard my prompt, you don't need to read. Isn't it?" asked Granno.

"Yes, exactly. ”

The last proof means. It doesn't matter if he tackles the test intuitively or with his weight.

"Oops. You're impressive too, Mr. Conou. ”

Eder couldn't deny Con's accomplishments and gave a thumbs up.

"Nothing," Cono said proudly.

"But what do all these letters say?" asked Ed, pointing to the three stones in the empty bowl.

He now knows how to solve the quiz, so now he wants to know what the answer itself is.

"It doesn't make sense," Grano said. ”

"Doesn't it make sense?" Ed asked.

"Yes," said Grano. It doesn't matter how the letters are combined; ”

"Oh, they're really trying to get us to do that," Conou said with a laugh.

The god of wisdom has caused candidates to focus too much on the question "What is my name?" even though three correct letters do not form a coherent word.

In other words, it doesn't matter which word you choose. They won't get the right answer.

"Tests show that anyone who is smart enough to read letters and see the unseen is someone who has real intelligence," Grano said. ”

"I think that's probably true. ”

Cono nodded presumably.

Then he looked at the entrance to the hidden dungeon.

"Anyway, we've done the quiz, so should we focus on the hidden dungeon now? The stone has been laid down," Conou said.

Edel holds a correct stone in one hand and a wrong stone in the other, comparing their respective weights.

"Good. ”

Ed dropped the stone and came to Conou's side.

"Mr. Grano, have you been to that dungeon before?" asked Conou.

"Yes, I have. ”

"Then please tell us about the monsters and bosses. ”

"If I'm not mistaken, there are no monsters in there. ”

"Are there no monsters in the dungeon?"

Isn't that a dungeon?

"Yes. Once inside, you will find yourself in the boss room and must face the boss right away. ”

"Ahh So it's a dungeon with bosses but no monsters. ”

There are a variety of dungeons. Only boss dungeons may exist.

Well, not bad.

Because he can kill the bosses instantly and take all their treasures.

"What is a boss monster?" asked Conou.

"One gram. a stone". ”
