Chapter 40: God's Conversation with Moses
Moses stood barefoot on top of the holy mountain blindfolded, his face solemn, listening to what God had told him.
"Truly I saw the affliction of my people in Egypt, and I heard their cry because they were under the dominion of overseers. For I knew their afflictions, therefore I came down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of the land, into a beautiful and wide land flowing with milk and honey, into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now the cry of the Israelites has reached my ears, and I have seen how the Egyptians oppressed them. Therefore I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring out of Egypt my people Israel. ”
Yahweh's voice came from among the thorns, he did not show his divine body, only a flame continued to burn among the thorns, and in the flames, there was a faint human form.
The so-called beautiful and wide land flowing with milk and honey, the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, is actually the place where Adam and Eve came out of the Garden of Eden, and Yahweh chose for them to breed human beings, all the way to Abraham and Isaac. The Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites were all like Moses, and they were of the same origin as the Israelites, and they believed in the same God.
When the voice of God came out, Moses' body was shaken, and he remembered his people who were still suffering in the land of Egypt, and their eyes were already full of tears when they were covered by strips of cloth.
Moses wanted to answer God's command immediately, but he did not dare to promise it because of the magnitude of the task and the limitations of his abilities, so he said to God, "Who am I that I have the power to go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?"
He had lived in the Egyptian court since he was a child, and knew that under the Pharaoh's command, there were many priests with strength close to the gods, and they had powerful spells that he could not compete with.
And those pharaohs are only in the name of pharaohs, but now this pharaoh is Ramses II, who has the most eloquent pharaoh for thousands of years. Moses didn't even have to think about it to know how powerful it would be in his hands.
Speaking of this Ramses II, Moses was still very familiar with the family, his grandfather Ramses I, and his father Seti I were friends of Moses. As a young boy, the boy often asked Moses for knowledge.
But the situation had changed, and the child, who had been extremely sympathetic to the Hebrews, ascended to the throne of Pharaoh and did something that excluded the Hebrews even more than the previous Pharaohs.
Moses could not help but think of what Sisyphus, who debated with him, had said: "When there is a difference in position, the heart is changed, and even the gods are changed." ”
He doesn't know whether the second half of the sentence is true or false, but the first half of the sentence is true and unmistakable when applied to Ramses II.
Moses' fears were quickly dispelled, and he heard God's support for him: "Do not worry, for I will be with you, and after you have brought the Israelites out of Egypt, you will serve me on this mountain, and this is the evidence that I have sent you." ”
Moses said to God, "I went to the Israelites and said to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you.'" If they say to me, 'What is his name?' What shall I say to them?'
All along, Moses knew only that God was God, but he knew nothing about God, from his name to his history. He couldn't have run over to the Israelites and told the Israelites that God had asked me to save you, because there are so many gods in this world.
Yahweh said to Moses, "I am who I am, and the gods have other names for me, so that you may not know them." The LORD is my name among men forever, and my remembrance for all generations. ”
"Say to the Israelites, 'The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has sent me to you. Gather together the elders of Israel and say to them, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, 'Truly I have visited you, and I have seen what the Egyptians have done to you.'" And the LORD said, "Bring you out of your afflictions in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, the land flowing with milk and honey." They will hear you. Then you and the elders of Israel will go to the king of Egypt and say to him, 'The Lord the God of the Hebrews has met us, and I beseech thee, let us go into the wilderness three days' journey to sacrifice to the LORD our God.' ’”
Moses replied, "They will not believe me, nor will they listen to my voice, but they will say, 'The Lord has not appeared to you!'"
In the case of Moses himself, if a man had come up to him for no reason and said, "I am sent by your God to save you, come with me, he will not believe it." Therefore, Moses thought he should have the evidence in his hand so that the Israelites would do what he said.
Moses, with his eyes closed, continued to hear voices: "You may open your eyes, but you must not look me directly, or a flame will burn your eyes." Cast your staff in your hand to the ground, and I will give it divine power. ”
According to the word of God, Moses threw his cane on the ground, and suddenly saw that as soon as the staff touched the ground, it immediately turned into a poisonous snake that spit letters.
Jahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand and take hold of its tail, and it will become a rod in your hand." so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you. ”
Moses took the staff in his hand as he had been told, but when he held it again he found that it was no longer the same as before. The ordinary arbor cane now gave him a strange feeling, as if it was full of power.
Moses had a question in his heart about what had happened to his staff.
However, Yahweh ignored his doubts and said to him, "Put your hands in your arms." And he put his hand in his bosom, and when he drew it out, behold, his hand was leprosy, and it was as white as snow. Yahweh continued: "Put your hand in your arms again. Then he put his hand in his bosom again, and when he withdrew it from his bosom, he found that his hand had been restored to the flesh that was round about him.
"If they do not listen to you, and do not believe in the first sign, they will believe in the second. But if they do not believe in these two signs, and do not listen to your voice, then stir your staff in the waters of the river, and take some water from the river, and pour it on dry land, and the water you take out of the river will be turned into blood on dry land. ”
After Yahweh finished saying the three miracles, Moses was overwhelmed by the power of the gods, but he still had a hidden worry in his heart. He was never good at explaining to people, and if he did, didn't he have to delay all the suffering Israelites?
Then Moses said to Yahweh, "Lord, I have not been a man of speech, even if you taught me what I was going to say, so it is. I was a clumsy talker, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to complete the task because of my tongue. ”
And Jahweh said unto him, Who hath made a man's mouth, and who hath made his mouth dumb, and deaf, and blind, and blind, and am not I, the LORD, go, and I will give thee a mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt speak.
Moses said, "Lord, choose other people, send whoever you will, and I will do other things for you, but this is too big for me to do, and I am really not good at talking." ”
Jahweh was angry with Moses and said, "Is there not Aaron the Levite your brother, who I know is able to speak, and he will come out to meet you, and when he sees you, his heart rejoices." And thou shalt give unto him what thou shalt speak, and I will give thee and his eloquence, and I will teach you what ye ought to do. He will speak for you to the people, and you will speak for him, and he will make you God. Take this rod in your hand, that you may do miracles. ”
Hearing God's voice, there was anger, and Moses quickly knelt down and pleaded guilty to God. Now that God had said this, Moses no longer dared to refuse, and even though he was eighty years old, he still wanted to go to Egypt again.
After Moses said goodbye to the Burning Mountain, Yahweh revealed his divine body from the light of the fire, and his eyes were compassionate. Around him, Vice-King Baal and the Seven Archangels.
"Isn't your name, God, Yahweh, and how do you call yourselves Jehovah?"
This is the question of the Lord of Memory, Monemothy, or the angel Rachel. When all the angels heard her question, they were all dissatisfied, and this latecomer actually questioned God directly.
Yahweh didn't say anything, he had deduced the angel Rachel with divine magic, and he knew it very well. She threw herself into heaven and was closely related to her temporary ally, Adros, the Lord of the Stars, and even her sister, Raguil, the Angel of Judgment who had entered Heaven early, had an ambiguous relationship with the Lord of the Stars. But he didn't mind that the last two angels belonged to him, and he really wanted to play this game with the Lord of the Stars.
"Yahweh is the name of his God for me, and it is not for men. I must have many names among believers, but the name of Jehovah will be my unique revelation to the Israelites. ”
Mane Mosine nodded, she originally wanted to ask Yawei why she was like this, but seeing the blaming eyes of her colleagues next to her, Rao is literary young woman has a strong heart, and she also held back the questions behind.
"Maybe for the accomplished gods, they like to make more pseudonyms. ”
A starlight hung down, and Adros's form emerged from the starlight, smiling faintly at Yahweh and the angels.
Adros has also stepped into the realm of domination, and probably knows the divine power of that realm. It was at that moment that he realized what the Lord of the Night had said to him, that the realm of the Lord was not the end of the gods, but the beginning of the journey, and that on this path, there were often wrong steps, so he withdrew his feet.
If there is a realm above the master, it is not very clear whether Emperor Taitian has reached it now, but in the future, the existence of the two cultivation methods other than the Divine Dao should have broken through the master.
What is surprising is that both the two founders and the Yahweh in front of them have many different names, and even because of who is the dominant name, the believers have to fight with each other and even war.
"Lord of the stars, now that I have explained it on my side, all that remains is to watch Moses' movements and prepare for the great battle with the Egyptian gods. Is there anything you need to explain over there?"
Adros nodded: "At this time, someone has already done what I have told, perhaps, I have already chosen an angel for Yahweh." In the name of an angel, she is imparting knowledge to Moses and his wife, and I hope you don't mind. ”
"Oh, yes, thanks to the Lord of the Stars, what is this angel's name and what power does it have?"
Yawei looked playful, the source of the angel's power comes from him, no matter who uses it, more or less, in terms of strength and temperament, there will be some bias towards his side. The Lord of the Stars dared to do this, as if he was sure that the angel would not be co-opted by him to become a true messenger of heaven in the future.
"Needless to say, her previous name is called Shaliye, and she has gained the power to control her soul. ”
