Nowadays, the birth population of the entire wizarding world is actually a negative growth trend, and the reason why the number of wizards is still growing is entirely due to the number of Muggle-born wizards making up for it, so according to Field's idea, wizarding families like the Weasleys should be treated as hero families. Before the sorting ceremony had even begun, Field's attention was no longer on the young wizards who had come in earlier, and he was looking for the target of his attention in the instructor's seat.
In the middle sat a silver-haired, shiny beard Dumbledore, who was instantly aware of it when Field looked at him, and smiled and nodded at him. Dumbledley's position on the poly was vacant, it was Professor McGonagall's place, and she was dealing with Peeves who had turned into ice cubes. Then there's the gray-faced, hooked-nosed, greasy-haired Potions teacher, Professor Snape, a moody old bat who treats no one but Slytherin students. Oh, and his relationship with Cedric wasn't as bad as it could be.
On the other side, their Hufflepuff dean, Professor Sprout, a herbalist teacher, was wearing her trademark yarella and talking to Professor Sinista in the Department of Astronomy. Astronomy and the history of magic were the worst of all of Field's homework, so Professor Sinista had always had a problem with Field, but since last year, his astronomy grades have improved a bit, and Professor Sinista has a much better attitude towards him.
Next to Professor Sprout was the little Charms professor, Professor Flitwick, who was probably the favorite professor in all of Hogwarts, and Professor Flitwick was eager to give Field 20 points every time he was in Charms class. After all, there are not many young wizards like Field who have such a good level of spells before he is in his fourth year, and Field has improved several spell casting moves over the years, making Professor Flitwick more face-saving on the school board.
Field didn't see his target, and the door to the Great Hall was pushed open, led by the tall half-giant Hagrid, who was wearing a moleskin coat and frowning. Then there was Professor McGonagall, who walked in with the rest of the drenched little wizards.
"Well, it looks like they did fall into the lake, and they were tossed around by Grindillowe. Ernie whispered to Field.
"Bad luck little ones. Hannah seemed to be overflowing with love.
Here, Professor McGonagall had placed a three-legged stool on the ground in front of the freshmen, and placed a tattered, dirty, patched wizard's hat on top of the stool. The first-year students had different expressions, and they all looked at it in a daze.
I think their parents also followed the Hogwarts tradition, and didn't tell them how to sort Hogwarts.
For a moment, there was silence in the auditorium. Then a crack near the brim of the hat opened like a mouth, and the hat suddenly began to sing.
The lyrics seemed to be different from previous years, but they were just as noisy, and Field gave himself an earbud to listen to, and then began to close his eyes and recuperate, and the warm artificial sun shone on every wizard in the auditorium, making Field want to fall asleep.
By the time he was woken up by Ernie beside him, the sorting ceremony began for a while.
"Eleanor, Branston!" Professor McGonagall said aloud a name.
The little wizard hurried up to put on his hat, his movements were nimble, and he seemed to be a clever Ravenclaw.
"Hufflepuff!" but the result of the Sorting House was still Hufflepuff. This made Field feel the urge to go up and take the Sorting Hat apart and study it.
"Owen?Caldwell!"
"Hufflepuff!"
Field shook his head and said to Ernie beside him, "It seems that as I expected, there are many more new Hufflepuffs this year than in other houses. ”
"It's good to have a lot of people, and of course I just hope the little ones don't deduct our points too much. Ernie said with a strange look on his face.
"Also, it's better to have a Quidditch seedling, I think Cedric broke his heart for the Quidditch team last year, it's really pitiful. Hannah on the side looked at Cedric, who was greeting the new students in the distance, with a look on her face.
"Dennis, Creevey!" was still greeting Gryffindor just now, and the little freshman who was cheering was called by name.
Little Dennis Creevey stumbled forward, tripped several times over Hagrid's moleskin coat, and finally put on the Sorting Hat.
"Gryffindor!" the hat said loudly after only a second.
"Oh, another typical Gryffindor. Field covered his face, and after more contact with the Gryffindors, he realized that he was starting to like Slytherin a little. He doesn't hate Gryffindor students, but there are many who are impulsive and love bad guys and good things.
Slytherin, on the other hand, has very few such people, and although many of the things that those who do for the sake of honor are disgusting, at least they don't impulsively mess up a good situation when it doesn't work.
There was a commotion at the Gryffindor table, and little Dennis hurried past the Hufflepuffs before coming to his brother Colin. Since the distance was not too far, Field clearly heard the conversation between the two.
"Colin, I fell into the lake!" Dennis said as he sat down in an empty seat and said in a sharp voice, "That's wonderful! Something in the water grabbed me and pushed me back into the boat!"
"That's cool!" Colin said, as excited as his brother, "probably a giant squid, Dennis!"
"Wow!" Dennis cried. He had just been thrown into a stormy, unfathomable lake, and then pushed out by a giant lake monster, an experience that he felt no one would even dare to dream of.
"If I'm not mistaken, it's a Grindy Lowe!" Ernie beside Field reminded him of the frustration.
"Grindy Low, oh, what's that?" Dennis asked, wistfully.
"A devil in the water with horns and a pale green body, if nothing else, should have learned it in the third grade. Ernie explained.
"Oh, that's great, it's the devil, that's so cool. Dennis almost stood on the table in excitement.
Ernie covered his face and couldn't stand it anymore.
But Field still understands very well, after all, a young wizard born in a Muggle family is normal to be excited when he first comes into contact with the wizarding world. Of course, Dennis is acting a little too excitedly right now.
As he spoke, the sorting ceremony came to an end. Finally, with the shouts of Kevin Whitby being sorted into Hufflepuff, the sorting ceremony ended. Professor McGonagall picked up the Sorting Hat and small stool and took them away.
Then, Professor Dumbledore stood up. He looked at all his classmates with a smile and opened his arms in a welcoming gesture.
"I have only two words to say to you," he said, his voice echoing through the Great Hall, "Eat!"
"Straightforward, crisp and concise. Field gave Dumbledore a secret thumbs up.
