Chapter 295: The Last Concerto (2)
Marshal Rudolph and Franz and the others watched Alexander's atrocities in amazement, not understanding why Alexander was here, nor why Alexander had suddenly done such a vicious act to his son.
"Stop, Your Majesty!" Franz hurriedly ran up, trying to stop Alexander, "These are His Highness Alexei and His Highness Paul!
Alexander didn't listen to Franz at all, he didn't even look at his court governor, he just let go of the hand that was holding Paul's neck and pushed Franz with his backhand.
Franz staggered and fell to the ground, he was not a weak person, but Alexander's force just now made him unable to resist at all, and he fell without the ability to resist.
Seeing this, Marshal Rudolph hurriedly stepped forward, pressed Alexander's arm, and tried to remove the wrist that was bound to Prince Alexei's neck.
Alexander's hand was so tight that it barely moved, of course, it was only almost, and with great effort, the old marshal finally moved his big hand a little away, giving Alexei a little breathing space.
"Your Majesty!" Marshal Rudolph had a bulge on his forehead, and just breaking Alexander's hand a little bit made him exert all his strength, "I don't think we have time to worry about those things at this time, I don't want to ask you why you are like this, I don't want to ask you why you are doing this, I just want to tell you that now, you can stop this stupid act, because you are hurting your own son!
"You are not qualified to reprimand me, traitor!" Alexander glanced coldly at Marshal Rudolph, and then grabbed the old marshal by the collar with the hand that had just pushed Franz away, "Didn't you also wag your tail and beg for mercy on those traitors to the Empire?
Alexander's hideous face slowly approached Rudolph, and in the face of that distorted and terrifying expression, even Marshal Rudolph, who was accustomed to seeing the sinister on the battlefield, couldn't help but have some heart palpitations.
"You've all betrayed me, that's why I've been framed to this point by those filthy dogs and men!"
Alexander, who had already traveled through the abyss and hell once, had clearly been completely corrupted by chaos, and he had vented all the pain he had endured, and the hatred and malice that had accumulated in his twisted mind were now unreservedly expressed in the face that should have belonged to the emperor.
"And the price of betrayal, you should have been mentally prepared for it, right?
Marshal Rudolph suddenly felt a lightness under his feet, and Alexander in front of him looked a little shorter.
To be precise, it was not Alexander who became shorter or Marshal Rudolph who became taller, but the old marshal who was single-handedly lifted by Alexander.
This scene fell into the eyes of the cowering nobles, making their eyes widen in disbelief. Marshal Rudolph's "weight" is well known, and now, Marshal Rudolph, who is like an ox, was actually lifted by Alexander with one hand, which makes the eyes of those nobles look at the emperor even more strange.
"See, nothing is impossible, just as you can betray me, I can lift you up, there is a possibility of anything in this world, and as long as there is a possibility, it cannot be denied that it happens. I finally learned this when the order we were familiar with was distorted and the truth we believed in was degraded. โ
Alexander took a deep breath, as if enjoying the night's turbid air, almost still tinged with gunpowder.
"Indeed, the so-called order of kings and ministers is nothing but a concoction made up by our people, and the law of nature has never written this into its laws. Therefore you may betray me, for it is not in your bones. In the same way, if these orders and morals can be betrayed, why should they be insisted on for me?"
His wrist suddenly tightened, and then with a crisp snapping of bones, Alexei's head lost its support and tilted to the side.
Marshal Rudolph looked at Alexei's blank eyes in a daze.
Ignoring the exclamations of the timid nobles, Alexander dropped the body of his eldest son and extended his hand to Paul.
However, a figure that looked like a mouse rushed from the ground with great speed, grabbed Paul by the waist, and carried him away from Alexander's presence.
Franz Noe Metternich. Alexander raised his eyebrows, "Are you trying to use this ridiculous demeanor to tell me that a guy like you is also so-called loyal?"
"Your Majesty, Your Majesty......" Franz's teeth were still chattering, and he was really frightened to the extreme in the face of the emperor who suddenly became like a monster, "IโI think what you just said is not right......
"Isn't that right?" Alexander's face was expressionless, just staring at Franz.
Or, maybe the morality of the monarch and the minister is something we can only know, but the relationship between father and son is innate, even if it is an infant baby, it will instinctively be close to its parents. So, I think, you are, there is no way to betray your instincts. โ
Alexander stared at Franz expressionlessly, and did not speak for a while, perhaps he was really moved by Franz's words, or maybe he was just despising Franz and unwilling to explain anything to Franz.
Marshal Rudolph felt that this might be an opportunity to escape, and he suddenly grabbed Alexander's wrist, forcing Alexander to let go of his hand, and then immediately took two steps back to avoid being caught and held hostage again.
However, it is not so much that Marshal Rudolph got rid of Alexander's suppression, but that just now it was more like Alexander was actively letting him go.
"A Metternich. Alexander walked towards Franz with a heart-pounding step, "A Metternich can say such a thing." Perhaps, because you are a Metternich, you guys will always have such beautiful tongues. โ
Alexander walked up to Franz and blocked the light in front of him.
"Are the words of a diplomat trustworthy? No, what comes out of your mouth is never the truth, to be precise, not a word that contains human feelings, and you are lying in a language that has nothing to do with you, but which is recognized by the rules and order of this society, and this is why you are able to deceive othersโisn't the achievement and credit of your grandfather because of his skill in the game? Metternich, is this name alone, this man alone, worthy of that prestige?"
Hearing Alexander say this about his most respected grandfather, Franz couldn't help but grit his teeth, and a little anger appeared in the depths of his dodgy eyes. Everything that happened tonight at the Palace of Tiamat was too sudden, and although there was already a premonition that something terrible would happen, it had evolved to the point where it had completely exceeded Franz's expectations.
Alexander, in particular, suddenly appeared in front of them with a majesty who was supposed to be lying on a hospital bed, and who possessed terrifying power and an incomprehensible iron mind, and Franz could hardly believe that this was the mediocre Alexander Majesty.
"Your Majesty...... Do you really have to speak so badly that you really have to soothe your wounded heart by such a nasty means as belittling my grandfather?"
"You think I'm saying that because of my ugly mind?" Alexander reached over and grabbed Paul by the hair, "No, you don't understand anything." Look at this castle, whether it was the time of Midletus I, Karin I, or Astrad I, this Tiamat Palace will always be so glorious and carry the infinite glory of the empire. But what does it look like now, chaos has shrouded the glory of the palace, order has broken its wings, truth has fallen, and soon, it will not only be me, but even if it is not a cripple who can't do anything but sell himself to chaos while lying in a hospital bed, he will bow down in front of chaos and give everything he has to that twisted mind. โ
He grabbed his youngest son by the hair and, ignoring Paul's cries, grabbed him out of Franz's arms.
"Put him down, Alexander. โ
Marshal Rudolph's voice came from behind him, and Alexander followed the voice and turned his face to look at the old marshal.
"You don't use honorifics, my marshal. โ
Alexander looked at the pistol in Marshal Rudolph's hand, and a disdainful smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
"Are you confident in your marksmanship? Let me tell you one thing, your bullet hits this kid with the same oddsโ" Alexander tugged Paul by the hair and lifted him up, "Fifty percent, please, let's see your marksmanship." โ
Marshal Rudolph was not like Franz, he was not at all swayed by Alexander's words and was convinced of his marksmanship.
"Don't you want to turn back?"
"Turn back?" Alexander, grinning, simply no longer hiding his smile, "What do you mean by 'turning back'? Where is the direction of the head, where is the back, and where am I going to turn back?"
Marshal Rudolph could not help but be silent, he could not refute Alexander's words, and at last he understood that this Majesty was no longer worthy of his allegiance, just as Swain had told him for hours.
"Since you insist on doing so......," Marshal Rudolph pressed his finger to the trigger of the pistol slowly, "then you should have no reason to blame me anymore." โ
The cold touch reminded the old marshal of the past, and he was, as he still is, pressing the trigger of the pistol countless times, and then killing the enemy. But now, he is still unfamiliar with the weapon that has accompanied him for decades, and he is not the slightest familiar with the cold touch.
Bullets came out of the swarthy muzzle of the gun, and for an old soldier like Marshal Rudolph, the possibility of missing was almost non-existent.
If not in chaos.
The bullet hit Paul's eyebrows, and the little prince still had tears in the corners of his eyes, and he probably didn't understand it, and then lost the opportunity to understand it all forever.
He was killed by Marshal Rudolph's bullet, in the banter that chaos has no good or evil.
The pistol fell to the ground, and the sound was muffled by the exclamation of the sword of those nobles, who all witnessed the scene, Marshal Rudolph, who killed the little prince Paul, just as Alexander had just killed Crown Prince Alexei.
"Now......" Alexander dropped his son's body without mercy and took a step towards Marshal Rudolph, "do you know anything about Chaos?"
Everyone outside of Alexander froze, their minds still blank, as if they hadn't really recovered from what was in front of them.
"And what about you, Your Majesty?" another voice appeared, "and what is your chaotic understanding?"
Alexander subconsciously turned around, but he was greeted by a fire that stung his eyeballs.
"You'd rather become a walking corpse, even if you know that you will lose everything you have pursued, you have to get up for revenge, what does this obsession make you understand in the chaos?"
The fireball struck Alexander with unmistakable accuracy, and in a single moment, the Emperor of the Empire fell, and there was no sound on the charred corpse.
In the dark, Artemis looked sadly at the corpses on the ground.
"You are mad, Your Majesty. However, you are not the only one who is crazy, the world will soon sink into chaotic madness. โ
