Chapter 55: The Gladiatorial Club

As Kevin descends from the tower, he suddenly sees a small group of people gathered around the bulletin board, reading the words on a piece of parchment that has just been nailed. Mike was beckoning Kevin over in the crowd,

"They're going to start a gladiatorial club!" Mike said. "First meeting tonight. I'm not averse to taking some dueling lessons, which may come in handy one day.."

Kevin looked at the notice carefully, and the organizer was - Gilderoy Lockhart.

Oh my God, what's going on with him!, that's Kevin's first thought when he sees the sign.

"Shall we go?" Mike asked,

In fact, Kevin was reluctant to go, and Mike probably saw it, he stared at Kevin,

"Go, go, maybe even see a good fight. Mike seemed very interested in the fight, and he couldn't stop pleading.

"Let's go...", Can't stand Mike's pestering, Kevin still agreed, he has been too obsessed with his own ideas recently, so he should give himself a vacation.

Mike happily said, "Great, I'm going to call Terry along!", and ran away with a puff of smoke.

So, at eight o'clock in the evening, Kevin, Mike, and the Ravenclaws who had come to the event came to the auditorium. The long dining table vanished, and along one wall appeared a gilded stage, illuminated by hundreds of candles floating above. Once again, the ceiling was as dark as velvet.

Almost all the students from the whole school came, crowded one after another, everyone holding their own wands, their faces full of excitement. "I don't know who taught us," they squeezed sideways into the chirping crowd.

Hermione squeezed over and said, "I was told that Flitwick was a dueling champion when he was younger, and maybe he was the one who taught us." "With them were Harry and Jon.

"Hey, Kevin!" Hermione beckoned,

"Hey Kevin" It's Harry and Jon,

"Hello!" Kevin replied,

"As long as it's not—" Harry's words turned into a moan, only Gildero. Lockhart walked onto the stage, dressed in a fuchsia robe and radiant, and a person appeared next to him that everyone didn't expect. It was Snape, still dressed in his usual black clothes.

Lockhart waved everyone to silence, and then shouted, "Come around, come around, can everyone see me, can you hear me? Great! That's right, Professor Dumbledore has allowed me to start this little dueling club, and to train everyone enough in case you need to defend yourself in the way I have used so many times—see my published work for more information. Let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape," said Lockhart, grinning widely, "and he told me that he knew a thing or two about dueling himself, and he graciously agreed to assist me in a little demonstration before class. I mean, I don't want you little ones to worry - I'll give you back your potions teacher intact when I'm done demonstrating to him, don't be afraid!"

"Wouldn't it be great if they fought to defeat both?" Ron muttered, and Hermione glared at her.

Professor Snape listened to Lockhart's speech with a straight face, and there was no emotion in his deep, dark eyes. If he were Professor Snape, Kevin thought, he would probably teach Gildelow a hard lesson during the gladiatorial fight.

Lockhart and Snape turned to face each other and bowed, at least Lockhart did. The two hands flipped a lot of tricks, and Professor Snape just shook his head impatiently. Then, they held their respective wands to their chests like arrows.

"As you can see, we hold our wands in a normal duel position," Lockhart said to the silent crowd, "and we'll do the first magic on the count of three." Of course, neither of us will take the other's life. ”

"I don't bet. Harry whispered.

"One-two-three-" The two slammed their wands over their shoulders at the same time. Snape shouted, "Get rid of your weapons!" Suddenly, a dazzling red light flashed, and Lockhart was knocked unsteady on his feet. He jerked backwards off the stage, slammed into the wall, and then slid down, curled up on the floor.

The Slytherin students applauded, and there was a large group of boys.

"Do you think he's okay?" Hermione asked, screaming, covering her mouth with her fingers.

"Whatever!" Harry and Ron said at the same time.

"For the first time, I think Professor Snape is fine!" Kevin followed.

Lockhart staggered to his feet, his hat falling off, his wavy curls standing on end.

Kevin watched Lockhart stand up calmly, but his distorted face told everyone that he was not feeling good right now, and Kevin estimated that Professor Snape had scored eight points without giving it his all. However, Lockhart said that he was just covering up for everyone to see. Kevin saw several boys from different colleges secretly cheering when they heard this.

Professor Snape looked murderous. Lockhart probably noticed it too, and heard him say, "This is the end of the demonstration! Now I'll come among you and divide you all into groups of two." Professor Snape, if you're willing to help me.."

They weave their way through the crowd and pair everyone up. Lockhart had Neville and Justin Finchrie pair up, but Snape walked in front of Harry and Jonne first. "The Dream Team should break up, I think," he sneered, "Weasley, you can pair up with Finigan. Potter—"

Harry subconsciously moved closer to Kevin.

"I don't think so. Snape said, smiling coldly, "Malfoy, come up here." Let's see what kind of person you can make the famous Potter become. As for you, Mr. Albert - you can be paired with Mr. Shabini. ”

Kevin was stunned for a moment, what does it matter to me? Kevin complained in his heart, I'm just looking!

Malfoy walked over with a smug smile on his face. He was followed by a Slytherin boy whose appearance reminded Kevin of Malfoy and Lockhart, of course, because of his appearance. Kevin nodded politely at him, and he politely returned the salute.

"Face your partner!" Lockhart returned to the stage and shouted, "Bow!"

Kevin was pushed out by Mike, and had to stand in a circle with the Slyerin Shabini in a crowd.

"Raise your wand and get ready!" Lockhart exclaimed, "When I count to three, I'll cast a spell and disarm the other party's weapons — just disarm them — we don't want accidents." One-two-three-"

"Except for your weapons!" both spells came out of Kevin and Sabini's wands at the same time. But at the same time, he was dodged by two people. Kevin let out another disarming spell the moment he dodged, but Sabini turned around and dodged.
