Chapter 31: Prophecy
The Countess was on the run.
Ignoring the astonished gazes of the passers-by around her, she ran wildly down the street, untying the white cloth from her head and throwing down her robe.
The demon hasn't caught up yet.
But a premonition of danger lingered, and the countess never stopped.
A powerful essence was flowing through her, and by the way, she was ready to face the unexpected while removing the disguise.
The crowd gradually calmed down, and the countess had managed to escape.
She slowed down so that she didn't stand out in the walking crowd.
"May I get to know you, this beautiful lady?"
The demon was right in front of the countess, with a smile on his face.
"Sorry, I don't have time. ”
The countess suddenly had a feeling that she might have screwed up.
"Please forgive me for being rude," this demon does have a unique temperament, unlike anyone the countess has ever seen, "My name is Yuan Chi, are you?"
"Get out of the way. ”
The countess was in a very bad mood, she was ready to leave, no matter what this demon had to say, Helen didn't want to hear it.
"I'm sorry. ”
The demon who claimed to be Yuan Chi stepped aside and let the countess leave with a smile.
......
"A power that is different from magic, but no less powerful, it sounds like this prince is indeed a demon. ”
Magellan did not know how to comfort the countess, and he knew that the truly stubborn were rarely affected by words.
"I came into contact with him too early," the countess shook her head, "it's not that ability that hasn't been mentioned, and I shouldn't ignore it." ”
"No, I forgot to remind you, and I forgot something more important," Magellan smiled as he sat on the couch, "and the mysterious dragon kingdom has an irresistible attraction to everyone but me. ”
"Ah......" the countess sighed long, "there have been countless nights in my long teenage years when I dreamed that I was in the splendid royal gardens of the Dragon Country, and as I grew older, the process before that scene appeared in the dream became clearer and more unforgettable......"
"Maybe that dream is coming true, after all, you've seen a dragon prince now. ”
"Don't go to him," the countess stared at Magellan with a determined gaze, "no, yes, we'll finish digging, and then leave." ”
"Alright," Magellan smiled and spread his hands, "you have the final say, sir. ”
"As for your desire to see the maelstrom," the countess waved her right hand slightly, "and I can help you when all this is over." ”
"More on that later. ”
......
With the help of the countess's magic items, and the large number of villagers, Magellan was a little overjoyed by the progress of the excavation.
He could already see the soil layer from 4,000 years ago, and only a few days had passed.
Bloodhoof's mood was far less bright than Magellan's, he already knew about the chance encounter between the demon nobleman and a passerby girl, there was no doubt that it could only be the countess.
It was far worse than the worst he could have imagined.
But delicately, the situation does not seem to be irreparably bad.
The demon prince searched everywhere for the countess, but never found it, and although it made him more interested, it was better than the countess being found.
Magellan also tried to find some clues about the truth from the bloody mouth, but in the end he was only sure that his boss deeply understood that in order to deceive others, he must first deceive himself.
Bloodhoof worked far harder than Magellan had expected, and he seemed to be the one who wanted it all to end quickly, but eventually when the excavation touched the ruins, progress inevitably slowed down. No doubt this saddened Bloodhoof.
Magellan forcefully rejected the enthusiastic requests of most of the villagers for help and chose to take matters into his own hands, but Bloodhoof did not give up and began training the villagers.
Archaeological digs require maddening patience, and Magellan doesn't mind having more people help, but he's not willing to risk the destruction of precious artifacts.
But in the end, Bloodhoof turned out to be a good teacher.
......
"You've finally brought a reward. The countess picked up a tattered clay pot from the table, the first artifact Magellan had harvested from the ruins, "I finally have something to do." ”
"Even if the demon prince hadn't given up," Magellan felt that the countess didn't need to be so cautious, "he wouldn't be able to find you so easily." ”
"Really?" the countess smiled, waving her hand lightly, and then a phantus fell from the roof, "you can look at this." ”
It was the manor where they were now, and Magellan could not be mistaken, with the ornate decoration on the walls, and just outside the walls, a man stood.
The silk clothes and unique appearance on his body made Magellan sure that he was a demon in an instant.
"He's ......"
"Thankfully," the countess smiled as she held the clay pot up in front of her eyes, "if my magic items didn't stop his instincts, we'd have been discovered." ”
"He's found it here, why ......"
Magellan felt that if it were him, he would definitely search for the vicinity where his intuition had disappeared.
"It's a very complicated magic," the countess waved absentmindedly, "you don't need to know the details. ”
"Well," Magellan sighed helplessly, he had to admit that he was really not good at magic, "but now he had found ...... here"
"Don't worry," the countess put down the clay pot in her hand, and as expected, there was no useful information on the artifact, "he won't affect your excavation, at least not until my magic fails." ”
"Well," Magellan finally decided to put the matter aside, "I didn't see anything new in the ruins. ”
"Of course," said the countess, who was not surprised, as was Magellan, who was only a little disappointed, "go on, I need something more to confirm a few conjectures." ”
"About the essence?"
"Yes. ”
Magellan sighed helplessly, in this case, he would not be of much help.
......
"I can tell that you are upset, and you want me to leave. ”
Yuan Chi sat on the gorgeous sofa, picked up a green grape from the plate next to him, and put it in his mouth.
"Don't be in a hurry to deny it, there's nothing wrong with it, and I don't find it annoying, but I have to apologize, I can't leave until I find the prophesied person. ”
"The city, the whole of Arafa, will always welcome you, Your Excellency. ”
Yuan Chi smiled, for a demon clan, his smile was cheerful and sincere, but for an orc, it was not so.
"Thank you. ”
