Chapter 49: Back to the City
The goddess arranged everything for her devotees.
Magellan felt that things were going a little too well.
Despite the constant digging of the earth, without the warriors guarding the temple and without the dangers of a long journey, the countess knew what to do, and she never failed along the way.
And Magellan has become accustomed to digging in the soil.
"Enough. β
When they had seen the goddess two more times, the countess stood beside the mud-covered Magellan and declared the adventure over.
"There are two more possible ruins in my profile, but there is no need to spend time on them now, these," the countess held up the blue ** magic lamp in her hand, "and that's enough." β
"You haven't told me what this thing is for. β
Magellan walked out of the temple with a smile and looked up at the sunlit sand dunes, pleased to hear that things had made a new progress, but still apprehensive about returning to Baghdad.
"It took me a little time to learn how to use divine power, and if I could use an easy-to-understand word, it was the switch that drove the machine, the key that unlocked the door. β
"Hope it sounds as good as it sounds......"
Magellan sighed and thought to himself, "If that demon has time to find us, things will become very troublesome. β
It's not like there's a monster standing in front of the door of a treasure trove, it's a trouble where a complex network of people is falling from the sky.
Magellan can defeat monsters that are many times more powerful than this demon, but there is no way to take him, the royal family of the dragon country represents many things, and now that the countess has Araffa's friends, Magellan can no longer solve the problem with the sword of Athena.
"Don't worry," the countess paused at the edge of the pit, "the prince of the demon clan has left Baghdad and returned to the land of dragons. β
Magellan shook his head and smiled.
......
Yuan Chi enjoyed the feeling.
No one knows where he is, no one can decide, even if it's in the form of begging, where he should go.
It doesn't get any better than that.
What's more, the demon instinct has never disappeared from his bone marrow, and a sense of hunting excitement makes him not want to show a bloodthirsty smile all the time.
It couldn't be better.
Tricking allies wasn't a problem for the Golden Family, and besides, he hadn't done anything about these cute and ridiculous Aralfa yet.
What's really interesting is the man, the flawless red eyes, the dragon.
When Motochi was born, a prophet who never made mistakes told his father, the emperor of the Dragon Country, that the baby was a dragon.
When Yuan Chi grew up, his father told him that he had several brothers, all of whom were dragons.
But he hadn't seen the beads.
Yuan Chi asked many people, but the answer of all of them was that it was because the dragon had not yet grown up, or that the bead was hidden.
But after seeing those eyes, Yuan Chi finally began to believe that there were dragons in this world.
And that surging desire convinced him that he was a dragon.
Born ruler, darling of the world, kindred by the sun.
There's no more fun game than taking the beads from a dragon.
And now, the game begins.
......
The Countess received a very high-profile, but not very lively, welcome outside Baghdad.
Magellan quietly followed the Bull into the city, and a sense of foreboding lingered in his mind.
But until they re-settled in the courtyard, everything was as normal and nothing happened.
Bloodhoof did not appear, and as a sign of solemnity, it was an elder of the Bull People tribe who received them this time.
Although he was very sincere in inviting the countess to the welcome dinner, the latter refused on the grounds that he needed to rest.
When everyone was gone, the courtyard was silent again.
"You don't like them?"
"There's no need to make any fuss," said Chef Pitto, who had already gone to prepare dinner, and DantΓ¨s was in his room, with only the Countess and Magellan left in the drawing-room, "I am not here to have dinner with them. β
"Where do we start?"
"The first question is to determine the location of the Sky Garden. β
The Sky Gardens are a marvel built by the First Empire of ancient Babylon, a great building of piety and love, located on the banks of the Great River on the edge of the city of Babylon.
It is a magnificent structure, called a miracle by those who were there and later, and it occupies a vast land, towering as a hill, and at the top of it is the Temple of Isitar, the ultimate goal of the Countess and Magellan's trip.
Since ancient times, there have been rules for the location of the city, and the remains of the city of Babylon, the capital of the First Empire of Babylon, are under the current city of Baghdad.
This would mean a lot of trouble for anyone who wanted to find the remains of the Sky Garden, for example, if the remains of the garden were in the center of the city, Magellan would have to dig there.
And something like this is very likely to happen.
"It's not that troublesome," the countess once again took out the magic lamp blessed by Isitar's divine power, Magellan could probably guess that it represented the stars in the sacrifice, but he didn't think that such a blue glowing metal ball would solve the countless troubles, "no god will be stingy with the believer who passes the test, we have done most of the work, and the next thing is to see the results." β
"Are you ready enough potions?"
Magellan found himself accustomed to, and even enjoyed, digging in the soil, which gave him mixed feelings.
"No," the countess placed the magic lamp on the table and took out the crystals of the illusory shadows of the previous few temple ruins of the Recorder, "I got something new from the goddess. β
......
Cities are waking up.
In all places where humans gather, the morning is always defined by human activity, and the denser the human beings, the less affected this determined time is from the outside.
Baghdad is one such place, which always sinks into darkness late in the day, and in the morning, it is a different group of people who wake up the city.
Beggar.
Magellan, carrying a canvas package with tools, was surrounded by peasants and woodcutters who were hurrying out of the city, and they walked out of the city gates together and then parted ways at the intersection.
Magellan followed several fishermen to the river outside the city, and they happened to be in the same destination. To the west of the city, between the city walls and the great river, there is an oasis of water in the area, where most of the city's fishermen depend on their harvest.
What Magellan was looking for was the remains of the Sky Garden.
