Chapter 45: The Battle of the Plains (I)

The morning sun rises from the horizon, and pale red ribbons stretch out from one side of the sky, and the other side of the sky is a deep purple with a few stars.

Jones never imagined that more than 6,000 horses galloping together would be so spectacular.

The tide of war horses rolled unstoppably on the flat grass between the rivers, and thousands of cavalry gathered together, roaring and galloping.

He looked to the side and rear, and the cavalry that followed him was like a black sea, with no end in sight.

He caught a glimpse of the Amber family's Broken Chain Roaring Giant's Banner, the Casstark Family's Sunmang Banner, the Mormont Family's Standing Black Bear, the Tully Family's Silver Trout, and the Frey's Blue Twin Towers Banner...... As for the Stark family's white flag, it can be seen everywhere, the banner fluttering in the wind, flying over the long pole, and the gray ice wolf seems to be running on the flag.

Although Jones has a strong idea of being rich and safe in his heart, many of his actions are now forced to do so step by step. But the galloping scene of thousands of horses still made him proud.

Today he's going to show his prowess in front of the Great Jon, Robb, and the entire Northern Cavalry, and make the name of the 'Black Knight' resounding throughout Westeros.

......

The ice wolf, which had grown up in a circle, ran like a gray light, running in front.

Robb Stark was surrounded by Jon the Great, Jon Jon, the three brothers Harion, Toruń, and Eddard Karstark, Theon Greyjoy, five of the many descendants of Vader Frey, and Harris, the chief of the Winterfell Guard, who were guarding the cavalry army, and galloped in the middle of the cavalry army, at the front, and there were more than 2,000 cavalry directly following him.

Jones was directly commanded by a thousand-strong cavalry force, including Percy the Bald, Sir Carter, Rona Stone, Time, Jack the Tall, and others.

The other three thousand-man cavalry were led by Earl Carstark, Blackfish Brandon Tully, the younger brother of Duke Tully, and Lady Maggie, ruler of Bear Island.

Whether it was the counts or the ordinary cavalrymen, there was a kind of nervousness and excitement on everyone's face that the big battle was coming.

The sound of horses' hooves that shook the sky seemed to disperse the last night in the sky and completely release the morning sun.

......

The Kingkiller was proud, and even when he saw the cavalry rushing in the distance, even if he felt the earth tremble, even though the eyes of the soldiers in the surrounding western borders showed a look of terror, he still did not think of escaping.

He remembered jumping from a rock dozens of meters high into a sea of rolling waves as a child, he remembered the first person he killed while exterminating the Brotherhood of Kings, and he remembered that he plunged his sword into the back of the Mad King of Targaryen.

In this life, so far, he only feels alive when he fights and makes love.

Gradually, a crazy smile appeared on Jaime's face.

......

Great Jon pulled out his trumpet, and the sound of the horn echoed across the plains, wild and hurried.

The four teams next to Robb Stark began to slow down, gradually forming a wedge-shaped queue led by Robb.

Jones looked ahead at Robb, dressed in silver steel armor, and raised his sword, and Big Jon clenched the ugly thick sword diagonally with both hands. Jon's spear was raised straight, and despite the galloping of the horse, the spear did not shake or be unsteady in the slightest.

......

Directly ahead, more than 6,000 infantry from the west were in full array.

The shield soldiers formed a circular formation, and the bloody spear tips protruded from the gaps in the shields, like a steel hedgehog with raw thorns.

James Lannister, William Lannister's younger brother Martin Lannister, and several other Lannisters, Count Lodge, Earl of Westerling, and a few others rode their horses and waited for the enemy in the middle of the circle.

"Shoot the arrows!" Jaime shouted.

Although there were only a few hundred archers left after the Battle of Riverrun, he still didn't plan to let the northern cavalry rush unhindered.

He'll give it his all until he's the winner again.

......

The scattered arrows flew from afar, and before they could reach Jones, they were over.

After a few breaths, Robb and the others had officially collided with the 'Steel Hedgehog'.

Faced with the cold spears, most of the horses stopped their sprint at the last minute and dodged. A very small number of them went on a rampage, with the tip of the spear piercing through the chest, and died on the spot.

The Great Jon was the one at the forefront of the more than 6,000 cavalry from the North, and his mount was scraped around the neck by the tip of a spear, and he stood up excitedly, and kicked out with his feet outstretched.

The frenzied horses kicked wildly against the shield wall, spears stabbing at it from all directions.

The horse fell with a bang, and its body leaked blood like a tattered bag, but it also knocked down the shield in front of it. But the great Jon got up unscathed, raised the ugly greatsword in both hands, and launched a frantic attack.

Robb and the others took advantage of the crack in the enemy's shield wall before they had time to close, and hurriedly rushed in.

Jones saw a spearman charge straight at Robb, only to be pierced by Jon Jr.'s gun, piercing through armor, leather, muscles, and lungs, hanging like rags on top of a metal spear, and then being thrown by Jon Jr. with all his might, and the body slammed into the spearmen next to him like a stone.

At this point, Jones also rushed to the shield wall, and also saw the cold spear tip of the piercing, he immediately tightened the reins, and the black horse under his crotch let out a long roar, turning the horse's head and body to one side.

Jones took advantage of the opportunity, and the black heavy sword swung quickly, and the spear stretched out from his side fell off at the root.

Then Jones's black horse slammed into the shield with a thud, and his backing man was directly knocked and staggered, and he quickly drove the black horse to leap in.

The bald Percy and the others immediately followed.

They had already teamed up with Jones once before in the Battle of Riverrun, so this time they were more skilful and quick.

This time, however, Jones did not turn back to pursue the spearmen after crossing the shield wall, but only missed a few stabbing spears, and then took the lead and rushed into the western army again.

......

"Stark!"

Jaime shouted loudly, leading the few cavalry to take the initiative to kill Robb.

"Fight for Cayside Rock!" shouted several of the Earls of Lannister and the Westside.

"Long live Winterfell!" Robb and the guards around him shouted in unison.

Then, two groups of people who were directly related to the success or failure of the battle collided together.

Torren Karstark slashed at the most conspicuous monarch in golden armor with his sword in hand.

He wanted to prove that he was a true warrior, and that Harrion Karstark was only born before him.

Near, near, Torren Karstark calculated nervously, he had seen the golden eyes of the Kingkiller.

A white light flashed.

Toron Karstark's sword-wielding arm was severed by Zigan, and Toren saw a large amount of blood spurting frantically from his side.

"Ah!" exclaimed Torun, screaming bitterly.

"Toruń!" Eddard Karstark howled sharply, angrily stabbing the monarch killer in the head.

It was almost to the last breath that the Kingkiller began to dodge, his body deflected, but the steel sword in his hand swung towards Eddard Karstark who was close in front of him.

"Boom...... Boom......"

Eddard Karstark clutched his blood-spurting neck weakly, unable to utter a word.
