Chapter 18: Madness

The explorers in full swing didn't notice that the dragon had broken free of some of its restraints.

The countess, who stood in front of the dragon, watched as the beast opened its mouth, black teeth followed by a black throat, and the flash of fire as she breathed illuminated only darkness.

The dragon didn't do anything.

But the countess knew that it was about to break free from the vines.

Then there was a scream in the sky.

It was the sound of a metal rod piercing the air.

The countess looked up, and in the distant sky, a gleaming metal was falling, its eerie tip piercing the air with an unusually screech.

She knew what it was.

"Longinus?"

Although it was only an imitation, it was a royal collection after all, and the countess was a little surprised.

Then her attention was drawn away by something else.

There was an ominous aura wrapped around the spear.

That's literally, from the ground, the shiny metal spear was spinning at high speed, and as it fell, a cloud of black gas enveloped the spear, exuding a dangerous aura that everyone could feel.

"What's that?"

No one gave the countess an answer, and although the sages could hear the countess's questions, they only had that magic in their eyes.

"The essence is disturbed, and in that vicinity, all magic cannot exist. ”

"The magic on that spear is gone, and we're lucky, it seems that all of its power comes from that special metal. ”

Then the spear fell on the dragon's head.

No explorer was accidentally injured, and with the fleet's vast differential machines and the aid of magic, this level of precision was commonplace.

The aura attached to the metal did not spread at all, but began to flow with the dragon's blood.

The countess began to retreat, there was no aura that a magician would like, something was going on in the dragon, and no one knew what it was.

The countess proved right, and the dragon's blood gushed like a spring of water on the ground, and with a terrifying sound, the rocks showed signs of corrosion.

Most of the behemoth's body was still trapped in the vines, unable to move, but its head was shaking, and the metal rod was tearing a horrific wound through it, and blood was splattering.

The sound of the rock being corroded was everywhere, and the countess reluctantly retreated again and again.

"Assess!"

The Emperor was desperate to know the outcome of the blow, and for the first time he saw the hope of defeating the dragon, he was in a hurry.

But the results disappointed him.

"It's alive!"

The fact is that even without a complicated assessment, any explorer can be sure that the dragon with the impaled head is still alive.

It held its head high as if it were venting its pain, tossed around, blood rained down, and everywhere it went, the explorers suffered heavy casualties.

The sages sat on the observer's seat, watching what was happening on the ground through the probing network, and fell silent together.

All this had exceeded all expectations, and the dragon was like something that shouldn't have existed, or a simple scourge.

The countess's magic was about to fail, and she had given up maintaining it to avoid the splatters of blood, and now, the vines had begun to wither under the corrosive influence of black blood.

Of all of them, only the explorer continues to fight, completely unaffected and consistent.

"I don't know if that's stupid or not, I don't know how to be flexible......"

In any case, the sages have given up.

It was their last strongest attack, and the result was just in vain.

The dragon finally broke free, and the terrifying monster raised its spear-pierced head, roared and flapped its wings, and lifted into the sky with countless explorers on its back.

At that moment, all the mortals in the entire city knew that nothing could stop the Grim Reaper, and that this natural disaster would eventually flood the entire world after twists and turns.

When the beast left the ground, the necromancer reappeared, and the wail of the innocent was accompanied by the dragon's roar of pain, like a terrifying music.

The Essence is still there, the airship is still there, the dragon still can't breathe, but there is only one magic tower left, and when this beast stands at the zenith, like a tyrant on a throne, everything it sees is about to be destroyed.

Then destruction struck.

The dragon fell to the ground like a falling comet at a terrifying speed, and it looked like the beast had completely lost the ability to fly, and it roared in pain, with a terrifying sound, and it slashed across the sky like lightning.

Then with a loud crash, the last magic tower was reduced to ruins.

Everything goes back to the beginning, magic can only protect the palace, the army has nothing to do with the behemoth, and the explorers will not give up, but they do not know how to fight a flying behemoth.

And, Dragon's Breath is back.

Without the four magic towers, the sages were no longer able to limit the dragon's attacks with magic.

The dragon swayed its head in pain and ran wildly on the ground, sweeping the buildings around it into ruins, stumbling to its feet, flapping its wings and opening its jaw.

Dragon's breath gushed out.

The blood-red pillar of light swayed aimlessly, drawing a terrifying trail on the ground, and flames rose from destruction and death.

......

"We ...... Do you still have what it takes to fight that dragon?"

The Emperor did not want to rush or blame the sages, he knew that everyone had done their best.

"Defend the palace with all your might, and judge for yourself what the fleet should do, we can't counter the dragon's breath. ”

The sage did not utter the last word: now, they had no strength to fight.

The probing grid was the only magic left, allowing the sages sitting on stone benches to see the dragon clearly, the monster howling in pain in the sky, throwing destruction upon the earth.

Suddenly, a sage saw something.

"What's that?"

......

There was a terrible thud in the sky, like a thunderclap without lightning, and the dragon fell with a wail.

It fell so terrifyingly that it was like an invisible hand forcibly pressing the beast to the ground, and the terrifying shockwave scattered, dusty and flames flickering everywhere it went.

The dragon struggled on the ground, wailing, and the terrifying cry seemed to come from the abyss.

But what everyone heard was another voice, coming from the zenith, as if the Endless Storm was approaching, and the wind was howling.

A dark cloud was slowly approaching, and as the white cloud entered the sky over the city, the sages finally saw what was hidden within.

"Eagle's Nest!"

Only those sitting on stone benches could see what was behind the clouds through the probing grid, a behemoth, cast of steel, spitting steam and slowly descending.
