Chapter 65: An Unexpected Advantage
The premise of all this is that the Holy Spirit and the Emperor have completely different predictions about the battle for the capture of the Canyon Fortress. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info
For the Emperor, who was convinced that the fortress would not be impenetrable, it was wisest to concentrate supplies in the fortress, and to the Holy Spirit, it was the news he wanted to hear the most.
No fortress in the world can stop the miracle of the Order of the Devout, and the supplies in the fortress are in the pockets of the new crusaders, and it will be the reward that the warriors who have just achieved a victory deserve.
Until then, the army would be furious at the reduction in supplies, but the Holy See's supplies would keep them up until they saw the walls of the fortress, after which the anger would turn into flames that destroyed the Incas.
So there is no reason for the Holy Spirit to stop.
......
"So now you see, their gods are involved in this war. ”
Tonan shook his head and sighed, he knew that what Magellan said was the truth, but he couldn't help but want to sigh: "You said that as long as there is a supply station left, the army of outsiders will be able to get supplies, so what are we doing here?"
"Do everything we can. ”
"What the hell do you want to do?"
"It's a complicated thing, and while we can't fail, ...... Hopefully I can catch up. ”
......
The battle began.
Everything was going according to the Holy Spirit's plan, and now the warriors knew that mountains of liquor awaited them behind the fortress, and that the walls that held them back were too weak in comparison.
In the fortress, the warriors of the empire were with the emperor, waiting for the long-awaited victory, believing that the army of outsiders had no siege weapons and was short of supplies, and would soon collapse on its own in starvation.
When the black rocky mountains were seen in the distance on the horizon, the Holy Spirit began to prepare for battle. The knights, divided into two teams, swept the steppes near the fortress, and as they searched for the ruins of the ruined camp, they would always look up at the western cliffs and the valley between the cliffs, and marvel at the sight.
And finally, ten days later, the Holy Spirit ordered the attack.
The New Crusaders were already quite different, and the Holy Spirit retrained almost all the soldiers against this magnificent fortress. The musketeers were scattered, some were responsible for transporting siege equipment, others were responsible for the final attack, and the knights were temporarily in the vanguard of the seizure of the city, except for the Order of the Pious.
At the shouts of the heralds, the new army came to the bottom of the cliff, and they had a neat array, pushing tall siege engines, and stopped outside the fortress.
And above the fortress, the Empire's long-awaited army, all of them replaced with slings, and the walls were filled with boulders, ready to begin this long-awaited battle of shame.
In the Holy Spirit's mind, the thoughts of everyone on the battlefield mixed together like a tidal wave, and everyone was looking forward to the battle, believing that their side could win, which made him feel a little ironic.
Then the Holy Spirit gave the command to end the battle, which was already doomed.
The warriors in charge of the siege rushed towards the fortress with long ladders, and behind them, the pious began to pray.
Then the white light came.
The irresistible force silently swept over the outer walls of the fortress, leaving behind a comical and chilling sight.
The Inca warriors who had been standing at the head of the city ready to fight were all gone, leaving only their weapons and prepared boulders to remain quietly on the city walls, and the engineering team led by the knights climbed the fortress on a ladder without encountering any resistance.
All of this is simpler than even the most optimistic predictions of the Holy Spirit.
The warriors of the new crusaders began to cheer, they couldn't wait to see the mountain of supplies piled up in the fortress, and then celebrate the victory with a revelry.
But strangely, the warriors who entered the fortress did not cheer.
The Holy Spirit knew that something was going to happen that was beyond expectations.
The subsequent warriors began to rush towards the fortress, carrying more siege equipment, because the fortress did not have a gate to enter, which the Holy Spirit had determined in previous reconnaissance, so they had to climb the ladder to enter the fortress.
When they climbed the entire outer wall of the fortress carved out of the cliffs, the warriors saw a flat square with no one on it.
While sighing at the power of the miracle, these warriors wondered why their comrades who had entered the fortress in front of them were not here, and walked towards the center of the square.
Then they were ambushed.
The Inca warriors, several times larger than the Neocrusaders, surrounded the unsuspecting and then quietly and quickly carried out a massacre.
The Holy Spirit perceived.
The fear of a warrior dying stirred up ripples in his heart, and the Holy Spirit realized that he might have made a mistake.
So the Order of the Devout began to pray again.
The white light descended again, wiping out hundreds of Inca warriors in an instant.
But the Holy Spirit found that the tide of battle did not change because of this.
He still didn't know what had taken the lives of those warriors, or if it had been destroyed. The devout could not take any chances, and the rest of the warriors who continued to enter the fortress would only be wiped out once again.
This was by no means what the Holy Spirit wanted to see, and although he was not out of options, the situation was out of control and the commander was alarmed, and he began to reflect on his battle plan.
However, time must not be wasted on the battlefield, and more warriors climbed the outer wall of the fortress together.
The Holy Spirit overestimated the strength of the enemy as much as possible, but it was clear that under the blow of a miracle, there were very few remaining Inca warriors.
This wave of warriors swept away the remaining enemies in the square almost instantly, pulled out the insidious ambushers hiding in the burrows and killed them, and fulfilled the commander's order.
However, the battle is far from over.
On the other side of the square, beneath the cliffs on either side, was another tall and gateless wall, on which the Inca army waited, ready to leave the outsiders with blood once again.
The Holy Spirit was the first to see the greatest problem, and that was that the miracles of the faithful could no longer reach the armies of the natives.
For the first time, this natural moat has finally stood in the way of science.
Even getting the faithful to climb the first wall of the fortress is a time-consuming and difficult task, and there is more than one wall in the fortress.
But that's just a waste of time.
The Holy Spirit never hesitated, nor was he confused, and more warriors rushed to the fortress with long ladders, and the devout began to advance.
Then halfway through their climb, the sound of battle came from overhead.
The Incas did not miss a chance, and this time their decisiveness was beyond the expectations of the Holy Spirit, and taking advantage of the numerical advantage, the emperor completed another victory.
