Chapter 51: The Falling of the Eagle
The offenders who drove the Aztecs crazy were none other than the Hawkmen's airship, and Magellan and the Hawkmen above, who had no idea what was happening in the city below, were now basking in the excitement of seeing the city in the lake. Pen | fun | pavilion www. ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ γ ο½ο½ο½ο½
It was a sight like never before, the city in the center of the huge lake was like a floating boat, and the water reflected the sunlight on all sides, as if the whole city was swaying slightly with the waves.
A city means many things to travelers, but most of the time, it represents a place of supply and rest, enough for those who are ready to give up on travel to find the strength to keep going.
They didn't know what kind of welcome they would get, but the city's response didn't escape the eagleman's eyes.
It all started with the long sound of the trumpet, which woke up the whole city, and the crowd rushed out of the houses like a stream of water, gathering in the streets, raising their heads and pointing at the black dots beside the sun.
Then from the tallest building in the center of the city, a team of flying monsters rushed out.
"What's that?"
Wen stood beside Magellan with a frown, asking as he looked at the black dot approaching the airship.
"All I know is that they have nothing but ill will towards us. β
"Why?"
"Will the hawkmen allow other flying creatures to invade your territory?"
"But we don't have ......"
Wen stopped suddenly.
"Yes, you didn't tell them you were coming, and you can't even tell them you didn't mean anything right now. β
"Confrontation will only deepen the misunderstanding......" Hawkman frowned, he didn't wait for Magellan to say anything, he made up his mind, "But if nothing is done, the airship will be finished." β
"It's all over. β
Wen finally made his decision, he turned and waved to the eagles, and then fell backwards.
The wind is howling.
Then the eagleman spread his wings, and in that moment, he landed on the airship's airbag like a stone falling from a great height, narrowly dodging a large mouth full of sharp teeth.
It was a cold-blooded monster.
The first time the eagle man saw the flying creature, he was very sure.
Wen folded his wings in the air and plummeted, dodging a spear shot from the monster's back, then spreading his wings again and climbing up, dodging the attack of the other monster.
The flurry of juggling moves was dangerous, but Wen managed to help create opportunities for the other hawkmen, who had joined the fight.
There is no doubt that the monsters come with malice, and they are true cold-blooded warriors.
Wen took advantage of the brief interval to observe his enemies.
It's a monster like you've never seen before, and it looks like a lizard better than a bat or a bird, flying fast with a wing membrane. With a lizard-like head and a large, toothy-barred mouth, the monster was large enough to carry an adult on its backβand all the monsters that appeared in Hawkman's eyes now did.
This makes them extremely dangerous, and the warriors on the monster's backs are clearly trained for flyers, and the combination of the two allows them to take down any opponent who competes with them for the skies.
The Hawkmen had never faced such an opponent before, and they quickly found themselves in a bitter battle, struggling to survive in the midst of a double threat.
"Ascend!"
Wen wasn't sure if his guess was right, but now they had to try.
The Hawkmen began to flap their wings and fly upwards, which they were not very good at, the Hawkmen were always more accustomed to gliding and rapid dives, and their degraded wings did not provide sufficient lift.
But gradually, the Hawkman found himself in the ascendancy.
Monsters from the rainforest are far less adept at flying upwards than hawkmen, and despite their size enough to ignore the weight of a warrior on their backs, these creatures that fly on their wing membranes are better suited to gliding - their flapping wings have very weak chest muscles.
Despite the threat of the monster's warriors, the Hawkmen had taken up a safe position, they didn't take the opportunity to attack, and so far everything the Hawkmen had done was to divert the monster's attention from the airship.
But they failed.
The monster's target was the airship from the start, and their attack on the eagleman was nothing more than a drive, and everything went very well.
Then the warrior on the monster's back lit the torch and threw it at the airship's airbag.
The essence-treated airship airbags weren't as fragile as they seemed, and the Hawkman swooped down, trying to disrupt the native warriors' attacks, but it was too late.
The warriors' attacks were far more ferocious than they looked.
The spear pierced the airbag, and the airship tilted under the desperate gaze of the eagleman, slowly like a deliberately arranged show, with a loud sound, and began to fall slowly.
And then everything is getting faster and faster.
In the end, it turned into a mad whirlpool, with a burning and falling airship at the center, swirling flying monsters and indigenous warriors on all sides, and hovering eaglemen on top, who could do nothing, tried to save the airship but couldn't get close, but never thought of leaving.
Everything was burning, the Hawkmen's supplies, their ingenious collections, and most precious, the airship, all turned to ashes in the fire and ceased to exist.
Then there was a dull, surprisingly light crash, and the wreckage of the airship fell into the forest, and the burning silently stopped, leaving only a pile of strangely shaped black objects.
Wen fell to the ground and stood in place looking at the golden-red lines left behind as the flames went out.
All the eaglemen fell to the ground, stupidly throwing themselves into the net just to follow this pile of garbage.
Tonam didn't care about all of this, he surrounded the outsiders with the dinosaur warriors, who had nothing but brilliant feats and perhaps a little bit of information in their eyes.
The pterosaurs surrounded the eaglemen, and they did not regard these strange beings as prey, but as competitors for the territory of the sky, so they wanted to get rid of them quickly, and an overly active dinosaur crashed into the muzzle of the gun, and was bitten by a pterodactyl, and was almost killed.
Wen looked around, his heart filled with dazed despair, and some kind of surprise that dulled it all.
Then a figure in the wreckage stood up.
That's Magellan.
He had already seen the end when the Hawkman was preparing for battle, and the fall of the airship did not exceed Magellan's expectations, so it did not take his life.
But now this group of monsters maybe.
Tonan looked at Magellan's black hair and black eyes, thoughtfully stopped the dinosaur warriors who were about to rush forward, and then came to the leader of the pterosaur warriors.
"That man is not a monster, don't kill him. β
"Are you ready to spare the one who offended the sun?"
"He would be a fitting sacrifice. β
