Chapter Eighty-Three: Debate
"Two thousand years. Pen Fun Pavilion wWw. ο½iqugeγ ο½ο½foβ
The camel gave up thinking, he looked at the count, and then saw something completely incomprehensible in the expression on his face.
The old man was right.
"The death of one god is so involved that it is impossible not to have other gods involved...... So, do you have power from an Emankai god?"
"I don't like to say too much, but the reality is that I have to tell you the details that don't matter before you believe the conclusion I want you to believe," the smile on the old man's face was full of relief that a person had done something he didn't like but had finally achieved his goal, "I just want you to understand a fact......
"You can't fail. β
......
The festival began.
The magicians led by Amon rushed in, and the soldiers who followed behind them brought tables and chairs of pure gold.
Complex preparations began.
The countess recited verses and brought gold jewelry to Magellan and the magicians, while the other magicians chanted incantations and began to set up tables and chairs.
Everything was going on in an orderly manner, the altar reverberated with the sound of chanting incantations, busy and chaotic.
But eventually all the chaos was over, and the altar became something else - the preparation for the sacrifice was complete.
It became a courtroom.
In the center, Thoth's body was surrounded by three tables, and in front of him sat Magellan, wearing a high white crown, his skin painted blue-gray, and a beard made of gold hanging from his chin. Behind a table on Magellan's side sat the Countess, holding a cobra-wrapped golden staff, and in the other hand the Knot of Isis, while in front of Magellan, behind the tables on either side sat five magicians, one covered in blood-soaked sand, one hidden under a black robe, and opposite the two were the remaining three magicians, one with an eyepatch covering one eye, one wearing a gold mask, and the last one wearing a silver necklace.
This is the court debate of the gods of Emenquet in mythology.
Magellan plays Osiris and sits in the center to preside over the trial, the countess disguises Isis and sits in the seat that originally belonged to Thoth, in charge of the record, and the two magicians disguised as Seth and Anubis act as the antagonists, while Horus, Pharaoh and Nephthys are the squares.
"The holy hour has come,
The court will be opened
I, Osiris, Lord of Hades,
A word of sincerity to all my brothers and sisters
The truth is not to be blasphemed
Justice will be done
Thoth will get what he deserves
I will not allow misjudgment
But the truth still needs to be explained. β
Magellan recited verses in the language of ancient Emenchet, his voice echoing across the altar like thunder.
"Thoth is bent on death
The gods were helpless to stop
And today is timed
Don't hesitate to act quickly. β
Pharaoh, who represented the square, was the first to begin the debate, urging the gods to fulfill their promise to resurrect Thoth.
"There is no dead to return to the sun
Even the gods are in vain
Thoth was greedy and brought disaster upon himself
Now that the believers are scattered, how can they turn around?!"
Anubis made no secret of his position, and the necromantic guides do not allow dead souls to return to the present world.
"What a mere mortal can say
How could the gods break their oath?
Dead and alive, alive and dead
Self has nothing to do with us. β
The gods began a heated debate, and Osiris sat in silence on the highest golden throne without saying a word, only Isis the recorder whispered secretly.
"There was a ghost in the beginning
It is difficult to find results in each other's hearts
Now things are different
Predetermined things come and go
The sun is high and walks slowly
The gods argued day by day. β
The pros and cons of the gods argued over each other, and they both tried to convince Osiris, but the sitting gods remained silent and silent.
So the argument in the court went on for a long, long time, just as Isis had predicted.
"Resurrecting Thoth is a matter of course
The great changes in heaven and earth are in vain
If there are believers who are dying
It doesn't take much to keep your word. β
Eventually, Seth, who had lost his patience, took a step back without the slightest preparation, pushing the debate into a corner: whether Thoth would be resurrected depended on whether there were any remaining of his followers.
Anubis was silent, he, like all the gods present, believed that Thoth's followers had long since disappeared, so Seth's reckless behavior was not stupid, or even clever.
The three gods on the square were speechless, they knew that if they admitted that Seth was right, they would not be able to resurrect Thoth, so they had to refute him, but just as Horus was about to go toe-for-tat, Osiris suddenly announced a halftime break.
"It takes time to get justice
There is no need to be impatient, like a short-lived mortal
Brothers and sisters
Let's go and rest and think about it
I'll argue again in three days. β
The gods then scattered.
But the three gods Horus, Pharaoh, and Nephthys are not scattered, and together they look for a way to refute Seth, only to find that this will only push the debate back into endless bickering.
So the three gods themselves began to quarrel first, and their voices rolled through the sky like thunder, attracting a toib.
"How great it is to rise into the sky
The sound was like thunder, and the four fields woke up
The bickering went on and on, and there was no conclusion
It's ridiculous that the answer to a small question is not far away. β
Horus's taunt furious, but Nephthys stopped him, for the goddess understood the implication of Toki's wordsβand it knew how to end the argument.
So the goddess transformed into a snow-white swan and flew into the sky to talk to the ibis.
"The gods argued all day
I can't sleep peacefully
You say there is no end
What should I do?"
Not missing this opportunity to mock the gods, the toki began to describe secrets to the swans that only he knew.
"Pharaoh lived in the palace
Slaves lived outside the palace
Small house at the foot of the palace
An altar to the gods
Pray every day so seriously
It's a pity that the gods can't hear it. β
Having received the secret, Nephthys laughed and showed the tall and majestic face of the god in front of the toki, and she stood in front of the toki and flapped her wings, and the whole sky was filled with a fierce wind.
The little bird was ashamed
Know that secrets are spread everywhere
Though you speak ill of you
The gods are generous
Just a little trouble for you. β
But to the goddess's surprise, Toki did not fear, did not regret it, and even mocked her.
"I have stood shoulder to shoulder with the dead
The secret of time cannot escape my eyes
You have time
Big talk
Hurry up and find the Thothians and don't delay
Set's wisdom is not revealed
It's dangerous. β
Nephthys was so frightened that she didn't have time to argue with the ibis, so she hurried back to the pharaoh's palace and walked into the slaves' shacks outside.
There, the goddess saw the altar mentioned by the Toki.
On the altar was a baboon, undoubtedly Thoth, the god of wisdom.
