Chapter Seventy-Nine: The Fog
What appeared before Magellan's eyes was a temple, and he was now on a high platform, and through the gate he could see the tall statues inside the temple. Pen "Fun" Pavilion www.biquge.info
Once again, Magellan was pleasantly surprised by the architectural prowess of the ancient Incas, who clearly designed this route that exploited illusions to surprise and delight the battle-tested warriors when they discovered that the end point was on a high platform.
Magellan walked into the temple, which was lit up, surrounded by statues of warriors, each of which was like a real person, full of power.
Walking through the temple, beyond the gate on the other side, Magellan found what he wanted to see, a giant handle.
The high platform where the handle was located faced the white mist on the other side of the abyss, and this was where the warriors were rewarded after their hardships, and their reward was to ascend to the highest place in the Ancestral Hill.
Magellan walked up to the handle and pushed it to the other side.
Then there was a roar from across the abyss.
The dead white mist rippled, then surged up like a boil.
Everything had some kind of eerie silence, and then a huge black shadow appeared in the fog.
It was an arch bridge.
Like a giant wielding a long sword, a whole boulder split through the thick fog and slowly approached the stone platform at Magellan's feet, and then, with a loud noise, leaned against the stone platform and stopped.
This is the passage that belongs to the victors, to the land of the glorious ancestors, and even if the earth collapses, it cannot prevent the warrior from enjoying the glory that belongs to him.
Magellan stood on the edge of the stone platform, ready to step onto the arched bridge.
Then he felt an unsettling tremor.
The turbulence, which had been peaceful with the dense fog, began to change, and the wind roared in the dense fog, which had been silent.
Magellan took a step back.
Then a turbulent stream shot out of the fog, composed purely of white mist, and the wind that disappeared into the fog was like a reflection in a mirror, rushing towards the arch bridge.
And then there was a loud bang.
The arch bridge was completely shattered.
The place where the white mist went, it was like a battering ram hitting the city gate, and it was like countless pythons strangling their prey, and the boulder was completely shattered.
Everything happened right before Magellan's eyes, and the hope that had just emerged was gone.
The boulder fell into the abyss, with the roar of the wind, and after a long time, a loud noise was heard, echoing between the cliffs on both sides, and it did not stop for a long time.
The white mist returned to silence, as if nothing had ever happened.
"Really...... Spectacular ......"
......
The mountains did not cause much trouble for the new crusaders, and the Incas had a dense and well-developed network of roads that could meet almost all the needs of an army.
What pleased the Holy Spirit even more was that the network was so extensive that no one could now predict the route of the march he would choose.
Everything was so perfect that it was scientifically arranged.
And they really are.
The morale of the fighters was high, half because of faith, and half because of capture.
Gold began to appear in the spoils of war, which made the knights and musketeers forget all the unpleasant memories, and now no one wanted to put an end to the Inca rule over the land once and for all.
Everything that followed had already begun, and the New Crusaders' logistical camps had miraculously all recovered, and they were working at full capacity, bringing supplies to the army and the glory of science to the New World, the missionaries.
The Holy Spirit believes that all of this is a gift from science, and that He will repay it with a new continent.
Now, he's almost on the verge of success.
......
"After that I walked along the abyss, and there was no place to go. ”
Even with this downright bad news, Magellan didn't have any disappointed expression on his face.
"Nothing worse than we already knew," the eagle people, although a little surprised, didn't react much violently, "the monster in the fog is very powerful, we didn't have a chance in the first place. ”
And the guide didn't understand any of this, and he didn't care, his face was as indifferent as an alpaca.
Only Magellan knew what that meant, and it would take him a lot of time to find a way to cross the abyss again, and maybe never even find it.
But he didn't think it was a problem at all.
And so, in this strange calm, the team fell into a peaceful sleep.
The next day, Magellan walked out of the camp with a shovel, and he had a crazy idea that Magellan didn't want to give up.
So when the eagles finally overcome their fears and get out of the camp to find a way to cross the abyss, they find that Magellan has become a sewer repairman.
"What are you doing?"
When the moderate guide asked, Magellan did not answer them right away until a few days later.
"I had several guesses, and now I've basically figured them out. ”
It was a clear evening, there was not a single cloud in the sky, and in the blood-colored glow of the setting sun, the alpacas were munching on hay pleasantly.
"What speculation?"
"About the fog and the monsters within, and the ubiquitous turbulence and abyss, and the reason for the destruction of the city. ”
Wen smiled: "You don't sound like you're looking for a way out of the abyss at all, but an archaeologist who gets to the bottom of everything." ”
"There's only one way we can get into the area behind the fog, and that's going to take a lot of time and a lot of trouble," Magellan completely ignored the Hawkman's teasing, choosing to say what needed to be done, "I need your help." ”
"What for?"
"Dig holes. ”
It wasn't until Magellan pulled out the magic sapper shovel forged from the essence that the eagle was convinced that he wasn't joking.
"What the hell do you want to do? and, ...... speculation about you?"
"We don't have much time, but we're in trouble," Magellan interrupted the Hawkman as he handed the shovel, "and now there's a turbulence that has just disappeared, and we're going there to plug the tuyere before the turbulence returns." ”
With that, Magellan set off, and although the Hawkman did not understand what he wanted to do, he followed.
"The reason for turbulence is simple," Magellan explained to the eagleman what he was doing as he dug into the earth, "and there was wind in the mountains, and when it passed through a funnel-like structure, it became turbulence." If we block all the outlets of the funnel and leave only one outlet, the turbulence will come together and become a gust of wind. ”
"That would be a very dangerous force. ”
No one knows better than the Eagle Man how much turbulence there is in the mountains, how dangerous it is, and if they come together, it is a terrible natural disaster.
"What if the wind is aimed at that fog?"
Wen froze, Magellan still waved the sapper shovel as if nothing had happened, his movements were so fast that a section of the passage was already blocked.
"That ......"
The eagle man wanted to refute Magellan, but he didn't know what to say.
