Chapter 197: The Mural
In Leach's mind, the so-called temple must have a number of statues of a certain god in them. Such religious buildings are generally built on open open lots, and at least there are easy access roads.
But the temple in front of you, not to mention how rugged the road to climb up, is very different just because it is built in the belly of the mountain.
Leach didn't know how his ancestors had managed to dig such an open space in the middle of the mountain, where there was no decent road, and the amount of manpower and material resources it had taken him couldn't imagine, and just as he was about to enter it, the black blade on his back broke free from the scabbard on its own.
Regarding a series of changes in the black blade, Leach had already revealed some of them to Saya on the way here, but the section about the time he had been controlled by the black blade was not mentioned, so after seeing the black blade floating in the air, Saya was surprised, but did not make a fuss.
After the black blade broke free from its scabbard, it was silently suspended in front of Leach for a moment, and then immediately rushed towards the temple.
Because it was in the middle of the mountain, and there was no light source, the temple was dark, but fortunately, Luo'er had reminded in advance that the two had prepared torches before they came, so they didn't have to worry about seeing nothing.
Although the entrance to the temple was about the same size as the gate of the house where Loel and the others lived, there was something else inside.
Led by Black Blade, the two of them finally came to the end of the temple after passing through empty rooms with stone carvings of humanoid guards carved into one wall after another.
The final room was more than four times larger than the previous ones, and was decorated in no way, except for a fountain in the center.
The water gushing out of the spring, glowing with a pale blue glow, is exactly what Lo'er called holy water.
After carefully filling the holy water, Leach had the leisure to look for traces of the Black Blade.
Soon, Leach found his weapon in front of the wall on the left.
The holy water has arrived, and Leach wants to leave this dark place immediately, I don't know why, he is never afraid of the dark, but he always feels hairy here.
Just as he was about to reach out and hold the black blade, the black blade suddenly moved sideways.
"Look, there's something painted on the wall!" Leach was struggling with the Black Blade, but Saya suddenly pointed to the wall in front of him.
Although Leach was curious, he still wanted to get his weapon back first, but before he turned his head, the black blade suddenly jumped behind him, and then Leach felt as if he had been pushed hard from behind, and his body involuntarily leaned towards the wall.
Leach was furious, and was about to fight the black blade with all his fighting spirit, when the black blade floated up to him very well-behaved, swaying back and forth beside the wall.
"You're making me look at something on the wall?" Leach couldn't help but ask, though he felt silly talking to a weapon, even if it behaved like a sapient being.
As soon as he heard this, the black blade danced even more happily, and if it weren't for the fact that its material was very hard, I am afraid that it would have frequently "nodded" to indicate that the answer was correct.
may think that the performance of the black blade is too humane, even if he has been vaccinated in advance, Saya on the side still looks very surprised.
But Leach didn't bother to explain to her, and his whole mind was drawn to the mural on the wall.
The place where the black blade stays seems to be the beginning of the story depicted in the mural. The first image shows a large group of people dancing around a large tree in the center.
Several of the dancers were unusually tall, and they all held what resembled a scepter in their hands, as if they were the leaders of all.
The second painting depicts the scepter-wielding leaders divided into two factions, seemingly arguing over something.
The third painting is the strangest, directly above the picture, the sun and the moon are high in the sky, below there is a group of people leading the leader to bow down to the sun and the moon, and in the lower right corner of the picture, there is also a man with a scepter, leading another group of people to point at the sun and moon in the sky.
In the fourth painting, the sun and moon are still high in the sky, but there are no prostrating crowds below. However, those who were originally pointing at the sun and moon in the lower right corner had weapons in their hands.
In the fifth painting, the sun and moon are no longer hanging high in the sky, but on the left side of the picture. On the right side of the sun and moon, there is a group of men with weapons in their hands, and their leader is very special.
The other people in the picture are usually armed with spears and clubs, but the leader on the left in this fifth painting has a weapon in the shape of a long sword.
On the far right of the rest of the picture is the group of men who first take up arms in the fourth painting.
In the sixth painting, there is no sun and moon, just a large group of people fighting together. Above this large group of people, a leader with a sword in his hand is depicted fighting a dozen other leaders alone.
The seventh painting is very simple, with the leader of the sword falling to the ground and the sword being thrown aside.
In the eighth painting, the sun and the moon huddle together, surrounded by a large group of people with weapons in their hands.
In the ninth painting, the sun and the moon disappear, the crowd with weapons in their hands looks up to the sky and cheers, and in the corner of the picture there is a group of people who have fallen to the ground.
The tenth painting may be too old for Leach to see clearly in its original form, no matter how close he looks, he has no choice but to give up.
The eleventh painting was also partially eroded, but in the rest of the painting, Leach saw a special figure of Ekaos.
The twelfth painting, the last one, is the one that makes Leach the most incomprehensible. In the picture, there is a figure with his hands raised to the sky and kneeling on the ground, while in the palm of his hand, there is a round, glowing unknown object, and nothing else.
Although they felt that the story depicted in the mural was not over, they had no choice but to follow up after the twelfth painting, so that both Leach and Saya could not figure out what message the mural was trying to convey to them.
"Saya, do you understand?" asked Leach, though he didn't expect it.
In a conscientious and responsible manner, although Saya knew that what he saw Leach should also understand, he carefully explained: "The mural should start with a group of people having a disagreement over something, and over time, the disagreement turned into a quarrel, and the quarrel turned into a fight, until one of them lost. The second half of the mural is undecipherable due to the lack of the most important part, and the strange glowing object in the last one is supposed to be a treasure, but also because of the lack of information about the tenth and eleventh paintings, it is impossible to determine the specific effect of this treasure. What makes me wonder the most is what the sun and moon in the picture represent, which will make a group of people who originally loved each other turn into enemies of life and death?"
