Chapter 12 Searching for Materials 4
Since it's called a sewer, it's naturally not much clean.
Like the sewers of other cities, the sewers of Ascatra are full of things, not just sewage and excrement, but also food scraps and the corpses of humans and monsters.
All this is piled up in the sewers, rotting, spoiling, fermenting, and the average person without protection can even lose half his life by just taking a breath of air in the sewer.
And now, led by Longbeard, Ron, surrounded by the moonlight rat guards, has been zigzags along the dilapidated steps on both sides of the sewer for more than an hour.
"Squeak!"
Long beard, how far is it from where you picked up your teeth?
Looking at the long whiskers that kept jumping in the sewage and rubble in front of him, Ron let out an inquiring chirp, and after more than an hour of trekking, the group of moonlight rats led by Ron had left the sewer field occupied by the moonlight rat population and entered an unfamiliar environment.
And this can also be seen how much effort Nagasu has put into this in order to change his current situation.
"Squeak!"
Leader, it's almost there!
Just turn a corner and you're there!
Flatteringly, the beard answered Ron's inquiry with a brisk chirp.
He was in a rather happy mood right now, after all, no matter who it was, it was quite a thing to celebrate that the originally planned goal was achieved.
"Squeak!"
Kindness!
In response, Ron fell silent, no longer making a sound, and just commanded the guards around him, carefully following behind Longbeard.
Then, a smell of decay quietly permeated the space as Ron turned the corner.
"Squeak!"
Chief, it's here!
That's where I found that tooth!
Creeping to Ron's side, the thin middle-aged moonlight rat's long whiskers were about to fall into the sewage on the ground, it looked at Ron with some unease and some expectation, waiting.
There were no tweets and no indication of anything.
Ron slowly stepped out of the crowd of moonlight rat guards and headed for the spot where Longbeard had found his teeth.
Behind the corner was a slightly dry ground, with several shacks built out of tattered strips of cloth and sticks, and occasionally a few rudimentary wooden spears, apparently once a camp of some kind of sewer sapient.
Now, the camp has been turned into a decaying graveyard.
A dozen or so tiny bodies with dense scales with wounds lay on the ground in various strange postures, the blood that had oozed had dried up and hardened, and they were cemented to the ground in puddles, and countless tiny flying insects flew over these corpses, falling from time to time to lay their offspring on them.
It had apparently been several days since the carnage, and it was from these corpses that Ron had turned the corner and smelled the smell of decay.
Still, from the dog-like heads of the corpses, which had not yet decomposed, and the two tiny horns that grew on top of their heads, Ron recognized them as kobolds.
"Squeak!"
Long beard, do your teeth take from their mouths?
"Squeak!"
Yes, Chief!
Turning his head and confirming with Longbeard, Ron couldn't help but nod his head at Longbeard's answer.
In this way, the pale green prompt text that crossed in front of his eyes when he held the tooth sent by the long beard made sense.
Despite its name and its barking resembling a dog's bark, kobolds are not humanoids that evolved from canines, but reptiles that belong to the descendants of dragons.
These small, reptile humanoids, about one meter tall, are timid and brutal, and usually live in shady sewers or dense forests, smelling like soaking wet puppies or pools of stagnant water.
They speak dragon language with a sound similar to the barking of a puppy, and have a rudimentary social structure, usually with a kobold priest or kobold warrior leading a tribe, and containing an adult old man and cubs.
However, the camp in front of them was obviously not of such a size, because the corpses lying on the ground were already all they had, including even a few elderly kobolds, as well as a few cubs that had just hatched from their eggshells.
............
"Squeak!"
All on alert!
Don't let anyone bother me!
"Squeak!"
Got it!
Receiving a resounding answer from the Moonlight Rat Guards, Ron walked quickly into the kobolds' camp and began his work, while the nearly 100 Moonlight Rat Guards immediately scattered and entered a state of battle alert.
"Ding! The material is matched, the quality is too low, and it cannot be realized!"
"Please prepare enough quality materials before proceeding!"
“............”
Walking among the stinking corpses, Ron summoned the [Old Mablanche Grain and Grass Bag], which no one could see but himself, and held the [Tyrannosaurus Tooth] with one front paw, and the other front paw began to sweep over the mouth of the kobold lying on the ground.
He didn't have the time or ability to take out all the teeth of these kobolds and bring them back to match one by one, so naturally he could only ignore the erosion of the pungent rotten smell and start the matching work on the spot.
"Ding! The material is matched, the quality is too low, and it cannot be realized!"
"Please prepare enough quality materials before proceeding!"
“............”
The pale green prompt text began to dominate the screen again, but it brought bad news, and until Ron finished groping for the mouth of the last corpse, Ron did not find a tooth of sufficient quality to make the [Demon Tyrannosaurus Tooth] manifest.
"Squeak!"
It looks like it's been in vain again!
But I finally found my way!
Ron's original hope was suppressed again, but this journey was not in vain, at least it pointed out the direction for Ron, proving that his thinking was correct, and the [Demon Tyrannosaurus Tooth] can indeed be embodied with the teeth of a dragon bloodline creature.
As for the kobold's teeth not achieving the goal, it's just that the kobold is too weak and doesn't meet the requirements for the manifestation of [Demon Tyrannosaurus Tooth]. Next time, Ron can replace them with the teeth of creatures with thicker dragon blood until the Tyrannosaurus Tooth is revealed.
"Squeak!"
Gather!
Preparing to return to ...... Wait a minute!
Keep on your guard!
Crawling out of the abandoned kobold camp, Ron gave the order to return, but halfway through the order, Ron's eyes suddenly saw several small flying insects suddenly flying on the pile of fine gravel behind the kobold camp!
