Chapter 43 (Unmodified)
It's really a blessing, and the disaster is not a one-way street.
Molis fell on the soft sand, his head buzzing as he raised his hand to shield himself from the blinding sunlight.
Then he touched his forehead.
It was so hot that he realized he had a fever.
Jessica's panicked cry rang out, and the voice drifted away, and Morris's weak soul followed suit.
It was dark and dreary, and everything was shaking.
Morris linked the memories of the fragments and speculated about the situation of the previous night.
Jessica didn't wake him up, and Morris smiled bitterly, he slept all night on the beach with the sea breeze, and it was no wonder that he didn't catch a cold.
Fortunately, there were no beasts wandering around here last night, otherwise his life would have been reimbursed.
After a night of fear and fatigue, the pain in his body had not yet healed, and now he had a high fever, even if he was as steady as Morris, he could not help but burn a nameless fire in his belly.
But when he turned his head to look at the sea, the thin mermaid girl leaned against the reef and hurriedly called his name, and the sea rolled up on her and splashed, and the droplets on her body shimmered in the sun.
Morris was suddenly less angry, and he sighed and forced himself to calm down.
What are you fussing about, he asks himself, Jessica saved you twice.
You know she doesn't know the common sense of human beings.
Morris defended her groggily.
Her vision blurred, and Jessica's panicked voice faded into obscurity. For a few seconds, Morris really felt like he was going to see Tanatos.
I can't sleep, he thought, I still have a lot of things to do.
He tensed his sore muscles, staggered his head up, and shook off the sand that was sticking to one side of his face.
"I'm fine, don't worry. He shouted at Jessica, but he realized that his voice was hoarse and weak, and Jessica couldn't have heard.
So he stood up dizzily and waved at Jessica, smiling brightly.
Although everything in his vision was blurry and dim, the morning light was as bright as evening.
He couldn't make out Jessica's worried expression at all.
......
"Is this the place the oracle indicates?"
By the time Morris asked this, he had already walked to the shore. His head was groggy and his forehead was hot. But that wasn't enough to affect his thinking.
Time was of the essence, and he had a lot to do.
"Yes," Jessica stood in the middle of the water, leaning against the reef beside her, looking at Morris wistfully. She realized that the man's condition was terrible.
"And then, what's next?" Morris pretended not to see her eyes, and he asked with a frown, "How are we going to meet the god?"
"I don't know. Jessica replied uneasily, "My connection to the ocean is broken. The god was silent. ”
Morris saw her subconsciously slap the sea with her fishtail "pop!", as if a human maiden was kicking the water.
Apparently losing touch with the ocean left her with no master.
Morris nodded, he understood the current predicament.
Without an oracle to guide their actions, everything was directionless, and he and Jessica seemed to be exiled to this deserted island.
There is no trace of it, there are no sacred remnants, and it does not look like a place of God's kingdom.
So, I'm not here to take the title of Brave and Goldfinger?" Morris thought playfully.
He struggled to turn his head, the jungle behind the sandy shore was lush, and behind the jungle there was a mountain high in the mist—the cloud that covered the island.
The pigeons fluttered out of the jungle, and they plunged headlong into the mist.
And looking out to sea, the waves stretch into the fog, and everything beyond the fog is not clear.
The terrain is not visible. The area has not been explored. The friendly unit is not there, and the vision is lost.
Memories of the previous life tumbled in Morris's mind, and a concept came to mind:
Fog of war.
Is this an exploratory mission? Morris shook his head, the soreness in his neck not subsided.
It's not a game, Murris. He muttered in a hoarse voice, "It's just ordinary fog." ”
Jessica didn't hear clearly, and she asked suspiciously, "What did you say?"
"Nothing. Morris smiled wryly. He cheered up, raised the corners of his mouth at Jessica, and said, "Then how about we prepare breakfast first?"
He didn't eat anything last night, and he fought so fiercely that his stomach was really hungry.
