Chapter 160: Saruman's Death
In the evening, it was raining lightly in Idoras, the sky was gloomy with no moon visible, and the people felt a chill as winter approached. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. ļ½ļ½ļ½Uļ½Eć ļ½ļ½ļ½ļ½
But the weather was not very good, but it could not stop the people of the Rohan Kingdom from celebrating. In just a few days, they defeated the combined forces of the invincible Saruman and Denlanders, freeing vast areas of the southern Misty Mountains from the shadow of war.
They can graze on the grasslands with confidence, they can travel and visit relatives and friends without fear of orc attacks, because there is no trace of orcs in this land, and the Ersinger orcs who lived for war have been wiped out!
The city of Idoras was full of joy, but in the king's palace, Hiyodon raised a glass of wine, bowed his head, and mourned in silence with many of his generals and ministers who were dying.
Saruman, once a white-robed wizard, is now a captured prisoner with his whole body tied and half-kneeling in the center. He seemed to know that he would not escape death today, and instead of frustration and chagrin on his face, he calmly looked at the people around him, and his eyes were full of pity.
After the silence ended, the crowd spontaneously took a few steps back, exposing Saruman to the center of the hall. They knew that the leader of the enemy must be judged before the feast, as he had done with Grima. When the time comes, they will be able to vent their hatred of renegade wizards to their heart's content.
"Saruman, my former ally of the Rohanate, now a renegade, is there anything else you have to say before you stand trial? Hiyuton came to Saruman and said.
"Judgment, hehe, you ridiculous mortals, what qualifications do you have to judge a powerful Maia?" Saruman laughed, "I am an emissary sent by Vera to Middle-earth, and I am the second god after Vera, and you are not qualified to judge me." ā
"Let me go, King of the Rohanate. We can live together peacefully as before, and I can be your prime minister and help the Rohan become the most powerful country in the South. Saruman seemed to make a final effort for his life, and his voice was full of demagogy, "The Rohan Kingdom will surpass Gondor and conquer Minas Tirith and dominate the South. When the time comes, the Rohanate will no longer have to fear the Denlanders in the northwest, nor will they have to take any oaths for Gondor. And you, Hiyodon, will be the wisest king in the history of the Rohanate!"
Saruman paints a bright future, and his imagination actually touches a lot and makes these people fall into confusion.
"Enough, evil wizard!" Heyudon suddenly shouted, bringing many people back to their senses, "This voice of yours has been heard too much in the time I've been under control. Don't try to confuse me with rhetoric! I'm telling you, it's useless, you don't have a second ending today except for one death to thank the civilians and generals you killed!"
"After Sauron, you are the second disgrace to our Maiya. Gandalf stepped forward and said, "Saruman, you have brought disaster to Middle-earth, you have plunged countless people into the shadow of war, but you can save them. You and the alliance with Sauron must know his plan, tell us, maybe we can let you live. ā
"He has no way out. Edward stepped out and stared at Saruman and said, "I still don't see any sign of repentance from him, Gandalf. His actions have brought too many disasters, too many people have died because of him, too many homes have disappeared because of him, and his sins are greater than those of Grima, who was sentenced to death for the sake of justice, since Grima was sentenced to death by hanging. ā
"But he knows a lot of Sauron's secrets, and we can ......"
"Gandalf the White-robed Wizard. "We don't need to know Sauron's secrets, he has two goals, the One Ring and Gondor. By now, there was no way for Sauron to escape. His northern stronghold is now estimated to have been attacked by the dwarven army, and Isengard's army has been wiped out, leaving only Mordor and himself. ā
"That's right, Bion is right. "What we have to do now is to gather all our forces to resist the last army of Sauron, as long as this army is defeated, Sauron himself has nothing to fear." What's more, the One Ring is still in our hands. ā
"As a fellow citizen, you must eliminate this black sheep as soon as possible, and not let more people fall into disaster in the future because of your mercy. ā
Gandalf sighed and said no more.
"Hahaha!Paladin?Demon Hunter?" Saruman burst out laughing, staring at Edward without fear, "I don't know what you people are here for, there are no you in the ancient prophecy. I don't believe you're giving unconditionally for ridiculous justice, tell me, Edward the Dragon Slayer, what is your purpose?"
"You're still trying to stir up trouble, poor Saruman. Edward said calmly, "The history of the past can answer all your questions, and people like you will not understand us." Ridiculous justice? If you can say such a thing, it shows that your heart is full of coldness and selfishness. ā
"********, Your Majesty, pronounce the sentence. Edward said a word to Hiyudon and stepped back into the crowd.
Hiudon nodded, and alouded Saruman's list of indictments, and finally he decided to accept Edward's suggestion to burn Saruman at the stake!
"I curse you! Edward Lee!" Saruman yelled frantically as he was burned at the stake in the square, "It's all because of you, it's all because of you paladins! Without you, the Rohan Kingdom would be mine!
"You are wrong, evil wizard. Edward threw the torch at the stake and said calmly, "Even without us, there will be others to stop you, and good will triumph over evil." ā
Looking at Maia, who was constantly struggling, cursing, and wailing in the midst of the raging fire, Gandalf was suddenly a little lost. Once upon a time, this former companion was the representative of justice and the speaker of the Holy White Council, but now, he is scorched by fire and his soul cannot rest in peace.
In contrast to Gandalf's loss, the people of the Rohan Kingdom cheered, and they threw everything they could at the stake to Saruman to vent their hatred for the wizard.
"Look at the voices of the people, Gandalf. Aragorn patted the white-robed saint on the shoulder and said, "Looking at them, I think that Edward's advice is not wrong, throughout the history of Middle-earth, which time has it not caused a war caused by the complete elimination of evil?"
"Are you having doubts about your ancestors?" Gandalf asked rhetorically.
"That's right, there's nothing I can't admit. Aragorn directly admitted, "It turns out that my ancestor Essidor was wrong, if he had not coveted the power of the Ring and threw the One Ring directly into the Mount of Doom, he would not be in the current situation." I, as his descendant, must be held accountable for his mistakes. ā
