Chapter 101: The Road to Escape
On the endless sea, more than a thousand ships of all sizes slapped the procession and headed north. Pen ~ fun ~ Pavilion www.biquge.info storm on the sea, adding a wave of sadness to this group of Stormwind refugees who fled north.
On the largest ship of the group, Edward stood steadily on the bow of the ship, dressed in burgundy elven armor, in blue Stormwind robes, and carrying a huge star on his back. The violently shaking giant ship seemed to be suppressed by his heavy heart, and he could not be shaken in the slightest. The young demon hunter saw through the splashing mist and faintly saw the smoke and dust rising in the direction of Stormwind in the distance, which must be proof that the orcs were destroying the beautiful and majestic city of Stormwind.
On the deck not far away, the surviving Demon Hunter Paladins, such as Windsor, Hayley, Karen, Marcus, and Draenei Creda, were struggling to stabilize themselves in thin linen cloaks, wielding their weapons and a faint light around themβa training that Demon Hunter Paladins needed to do every day, even in such stormy weather.
The fugitive party had been out of Stormwind for many days, but the sheer number of ships, large and small, greatly affected the speed of the team's progress, and for so many days, the land of the Eastern Kingdom could be seen from the sea.
Lothar came out of the cabin in a cloak and ran out of the storm and fought hard to hit Edward's side.
"What are you doing? Edward. In the howling wind, Lothar shouted with all her might.
"I'm communicating with the water elemental spirits and wind elementals on the surface of the sea in order to use his power to mitigate this storm. Edward waved his hand, and the Demon Hunter Paladins ran into the cabin as if they had been pardoned.
"What's that? Let's go to the cabin first, we have to discuss the next food problem. Lothar shouted as she grabbed her cloak, which had been almost blown away by the wind, for some reason.
"Well, Azeroth's elemental spirits aren't very active, and the results aren't very good. Edward grabbed Lothar and, screaming, ran into the cabin.
"My dear Edward, can you please not carry me around like a thing in the future!" Lothar glared at Edward and handed the cloak to Hayley, who was smiling hard.
Edward smiled and made his way to the table with the charts.
"Sir, at our current pace, how long will it take to get to Lordaeron?" Khadgar asked as he came to the chart, "this damn seafaring life is killing me. β
"You can't do that, little mage. "If all the mages of Dalaran are as seasick as you, what fighting power do you have at sea?" β
"Well, I'll admit I'm a bit seasick, but I can't be blamed for that, I've never experienced this at sea...... Gasp!" Khadgar was about to vomit again before he could finish speaking.
"Mr. Mage, you really should work on your physique with us. "The instructor's training was so effective that we were seasick the next day." β
"Please don't talk about this damn training!" Khadgar said depressedly, "My physique among mages is already good, but I can only last for a short time with your training, and I feel like I have experienced life and death!"
"Persistence! Karen laughed, "I couldn't stand it at first, but I'll get used to it if I stick to it." β
"Okay, let's not talk about that. Edward interrupted the conversation, "Khadgar, if you're really uncomfortable, you can go and rest for a while." β
"Well, I think I'll try again to train with you guys. Khadgar shook his head and didn't leave.
"We're so slow and we're in a lot of different sizes, and there are a lot of small boats that are in a very dangerous position when it comes to storms. Lothar straightened his face and said solemnly, "At present, nearly fifty small boats have been swallowed by the waves, but fortunately, the rescue was timely and there were no casualties. β
"Another problem is that we are running out of food and water, and it is unlikely that we will last the next two months. Lothar frowned and said, "Several of the logistics ships have also been swallowed by the waves, and I have ordered the transfer of supplies to the larger ships." β
"Compared to the weather and the sea, what makes us even more troublesome is the threat from the bottom of the sea. There are many small fish-man tribes near the Eastern Kingdom continent, and they often attack us, and although we can throw some food down to get them away, it is not a long-term solution. β
Lothar raised a series of difficulties that made everyone present frown.
"Khadgar, have you received a magical letter from Lordaeron?" asked Lothar.
"I just received a letter yesterday, Lordaeron's fleet has just been formed, and the main ships are from the kingdom of Kul Tiras, commanded by Admiral Dalin Prodmoor himself, and it is expected that it will take more than half a month to join us. Khadgar replied.
"Admiral Dalin, that is a warrior at sea, and if our refugee fleet can rely on his help, it will surely reduce many losses. Lothar and Admiral Dalin had a bit of a friendship, said hopefully.
"In other words, we need to hold out for more than half a month?" said Edward, frowning.
"That's right, the most pressing issue right now is the issue of supplies and the little fishmen. "It's mostly water, and at sea, without fresh water, we simply can't hold out." β
"Fresh water?" Edward pondered for a moment, then suddenly his eyes lit up and he looked at Khadgar.
"Khadgar, I remember when I was in Karazhan and saw that the mage had a spell that was able to create food and summon water elementals......"
As soon as Edward reminded him, Khadgar's eyes lit up.
"Yes, there is such a spell! we can gather all the Stormwind mages and teach ......" At this point, Khadgar suddenly stuck, "Mr. Edward, do you know this kind of spell?"
"No, it won't. Edward searched the skill menu and found that there was no such spell. Most of the records in Karazhin's books are some secret and rare spells, and there is no record of such relatively basic spells at all.
"I won't ...... either," Khadgar said dejectedly.
"It's okay, I can teleport to Dalaran, learn this spell, and come back. "The only problem is that the fleet is mobile, and the targets aren't very large, and the arcane positioning makes it difficult for me to teleport back." β
The problem of positioning teleportation is a relatively advanced subject, and even some great mages cannot accurately locate it, so it is generally used for teleportation between the main cities.
This solution did not work, and everyone fell silent again and began to think of a solution to the problem.
Edward searched the purchase menu again, staring at the list of "military supplies" for a long time.
The purchase option of "military supplies" includes dry food and fresh water, and the price is also very cheap.
But if he wants to maintain such a large number of refugees in Stormwind, no amount of Edward's achievement points is a drop in the bucket. Besides, it would be very risky for him to use the purchase menu here to conjure up something.
"It was decided. Edward thought for a moment and said, "I'll teleport to Dalaran, and after learning this spell, I'll teleport back." When the time comes, there is a good chance that I will teleport to the nearby sea, and I will send out a sign of holy light for you to see, and then let Alan pick me up. β
"Not going to work! Lothar vetoed the offer, "I don't know much magic, but I know it's a pretty dangerous thing to do. And there are a lot of ferocious fish and small fish-people in the nearby seas, are you sure you can make it to Aylan to pick you up?"
"Yes, Sir is right, this is a very dangerous plan. Khadgar agreed, "If the positioning of the teleportation technique is not good, it will be tens of thousands of miles apart, in case you are teleported far away, we and Alan will not have time to rescue you!"
"No, I said, and that's it. Edward said stubbornly, then walked over to Alan, who was prostrate in the cabin, and stroked its feathers, "I believe in Alan, he is my partner. β
Alan chirped and looked at the others with disdain, as if to say that it was a trivial matter.
Everyone looked at each other with ugly faces, and finally had to agree. Many times, Edward made decisions that none of them could change.
