Chapter 52: How Many Are There?
The mud everywhere, and the crooked revetment trees were destroyed by the tsunami, and the land was in shambles.
Morris carried Jessica into the jungle, the pain of his left shoulder tearing affecting his balance.
The tsunami was devouring the sandy shore behind him, and Morris didn't even have to look back to know that the three beasts had almost overturned the entire sea.
The wind of the tsunami overwhelmed the low bushes, and he crouched down to avoid being blown away, Jessica's limp body in his arms.
Heavy gasps staggered between the two.
The jungle changed with an unpredictable darkness, and when the lightning shone, the white and miserable trees and branches were rolling, and a black and white wave rolled over the heads of the two men.
Morris's heart skipped a beat.
You can't go in like that. He thought.
Morris crouched down and held his right hand wrapped in the bracelet aloft, the wind swept his bangs, and the float of the maple leaf stretched nimbly on the silver medal.
The glimmer lit up. Morris uttered a difficult syllable.
A little light lit up on his fingers, and then "poof!" disappeared.
Jessica looked at him inexplicably.
"No!" Morris scratched at his hair angrily, the heavy, wet rain irritating him.
One more time...... Morris took a deep breath and raised his right hand.
The chaotic will in his mind twisted into a ball, and only then did he realize that the miracles around him had been marked with the mark of Senhan.
He gritted his teeth, a faint mysterious light lit up, and then a large ball of light lit up, a soft light illuminating the surroundings.
Illuminates the upturned dirt, the white rhizomes of grass, stones, trees, swaying branches and leaves.
There is no darkness to hide.
The dazzling ball of light landed lightly on Morris's shoulder, and he looked down at Jessica's pale face, biting her lower lip slightly, and the shadow of Loman appeared in his mind again.
Is that what you gave me? What do I see?
Morris looked back.
The three fierce beasts were fierce and vicious, shaking their heads and tails and swimming towards the desert island.
......
Morris ran desperately forward, the desert island jungle was dense, the light illuminated the path under his feet, Jessica hugged him tightly, and the hearts of the two were entangled.
The island was gradually rising, and they had to run to the top.
As the ocean gradually encroached on the land, Morris could imagine that the whole sea had become a pot of boiling soup, constantly setting off huge waves.
How long can this deserted island last?
Morris made his feet deep and shallow through the jungle, the waves behind him still rising higher, the lightning roaring, the torrential rain so hard he couldn't lift his head, his boots were full of muddy water.
Occasionally, frightened animals run past them......
First came the strange beetles, flying ants, and bee colonies, followed by lizards, snakes, crocodiles, and some of the larger animals of the jungle.
He was caught up in the tide of beasts......
He forgot how long he had been running, and his head seemed to be heating up.
The orb of light magic began to lose its meaning, and Morris panicked, almost hitting a tree on several occasions.
In the midst of the catastrophe, all the creatures on this island are terrified, and there is nothing stranger than the race running side by side on the same food chain.
Morris stomped into the air and almost fell.
As he steadied his balance, he heard Jessica talking eagerly behind him, but the noise around him was so loud that he didn't react to talk to her.
Probably told me to watch my step. He thought in a daze, but he wouldn't stop.
But Jessica didn't give up, she slapped him the shoulder while shouting Morris's name. Trying to get his attention.
"Stop! Look behind you!" Jessica said.
Morris finally reacted. He struggled to stand on his feet, his head fluttering for a moment. He ran in the jungle for dozens of minutes or so with all his might, and this reaction alone was already considered to be in good physical condition.
I won't be surprised to see anything more. Morris thought to himself.
Then he staggered around and looked up to take a glimmer of light.
The next second he opened his mouth wide.
......
The sea has already submerged the island.
To be sure, although it is higher than the island, most of the island is not submerged.
With the island as the center, a huge whirlpool rises. It's as if there's an endless black hole pumping under the island.
The terrifying waves of the sea beasts were all blocked outside the whirlpool, and no matter how high the sea level, the island remained unmoved.
And the sea beasts are cruising beneath the elevated surface.
When they first appeared, they were silent, like a floating mountain of meat, but now they are much more manic, baring their teeth and howling silently at the desert island at the other side of the vortex.
They jerked to the surface of the sea and plunged into the water. And whenever they become aggressive, winds, torrential rains, lightning and tides come together with great momentum.
However, they do not seem to dare to break out of this whirlpool.
What is this? Exodus?
Morris is a bit flustered.
What kind of power......
Can you keep these carrier-like behemoths out?
God...... Is it?
......
Jessica poked Muris lightly, and the girl said in a panic, "How many of them are there?"
What do you mean? Not three...... Morris hadn't said it yet.
No!
The fourth sea beast swam in from the blind spot of vision, and wagged its tail in unison with the previous three, cruising and grinning.
Maybe more than ......
Morris suddenly thought of this possibility, and a chill of pity spread down his spine.
He had a way to prove this conjecture.
He took out the rough, rough foliage bird from his pocket. He plucked up his will again and begged for a miracle. The power of the descent passed through the whirlpool, and a faint magic was imprinted into the bird's body.
He tossed it gently, and the bird swirled into the sky.
The fog that had shrouded the desert island had disappeared under the raging storm, and he tried to rediscover it.
Birds overlook the deserted island in the sky.
The island can only be seen to be covered in vegetation at night, and the center of the island seems to have been cut in half to show a different color.
Morris patiently ordered the bird to hover in the sky and wait for the thunder to blow up.
The gap between the explosions and thunders was very short, and when a cobweb-like lightning covered half of the sky.
He finally saw their numbers by the light.
Not just five, not just six!
Morris saw more than a dozen gigantic whale-like creatures swimming rapidly around the desert island, hiding beneath the surface of the sea, occasionally leaving only shadows and occasionally floating dorsal fins.
They—Murris, Jessica, and the island are completely surrounded!
What's going on here?
Morris felt that his brain was not enough.
