61. Lake Manyara harvest

Lake Manyara is a caldera lake that is sunken on three sides, with only an Upper Table Mountain to the northwest.

There are a variety of landforms here, so the species are relatively luxuriant, and when Yang Wu walked here, he realized what it means to be vibrant, with birds singing and flowers.

Because Yang Wu came from the west, he first passed through the side of Table Mountain.

The terrain here is much higher than the other three sides, so looking at Lake Manyara from here, the blue-green algae and millions of flamingos in the lake are really red and blue, especially in line with the lyrics: The fire you burn is my shape!

Flamingos are also known as flamingos.

Flamingos resemble storks in size, are about 80-160 cm tall and weigh 2.5-3.5 kg. Males are slightly larger than females.

They are covered in white and reddish feathers, with black parts on their wings and dark red feathers.

Flamingos have long necks, often curved in an S-shape, the beak is short and thick, the middle of the upper beak is curved downward, the lower beak is large and grooved, the upper beak is smaller than the lower beak, the feet are extremely long and bare, the anterior toes are webbed, the hind toes are short and do not touch the ground, the wings are medium in size, and the tail bar is short.

The feathers of the flamingo's whole body are mainly vermilion, especially the feathers at the base of the wings, which are shiny and shiny, and look like a raging fire from a distance, so it is called a flamingo.

It is also peculiarly long-looking, with a slender body, a small head, a scythe-shaped mouth that is slender and curved downward, black at the front, pale red in the middle, and yellow at the base. The yellow eyes are small and incongruous compared to their large size. The slender neck curves in an "S" shape, the wings spread out more than 150 cm, and the tail feathers are very short.

They have long, thin red legs, red webs between the three forward toes on their feet, and small, flat back toes.

Flamingos inhabit the shallow waters of temperate tropical saltwater lakes, marshes and lagoons, and live in a variety of saltwater and freshwater habitats such as lagoons, estuaries, tidal flats, and coastal or inland lakes, where they feed mainly on filter-feeding algae and plankton.

Flamingos like to live in groups, often in the thousands, and the small flock of flamingos in Africa is the largest in the world today.

In the Bahamas, Central America, which covers an area of only 13,939 square kilometers, there are more than 50,000 Caribbean flamingos and even more than 100,000 clustered together.

Flamingos are not strictly migratory birds, they only migrate when there is a shortage of food and a sudden change in the environment.

They also migrate at night and fly at high altitudes during the day, all to avoid birds of prey.

Migrating flamingos can fly 600 kilometers per night at speeds of 50-60 kilometers per hour.

The similar calls of flamingos and geese come and go, deafening, and from a distance, the red legs are like a forest, and the long necks are also frequently alternately wriggling, which is very spectacular.

They have a gentle temperament, are usually timid and alert, and have excellent swimming skills. When flying, it can stretch its neck and legs in a straight line, and as long as one of them flies into the sky, a large group will follow closely, singing as they fly.

The flamingo's diet is mainly based on algae, protozoa, small shrimp, clams, small worms, insect larvae, etc., and occasionally small mollusks and crustaceans.

Their feeding method is unusual and fantastic, first bending its long neck, turning its head upside down, and then swiping its curved beak to the left and right as it goes, touching the bottom of the water to feed.

Due to the special structure of the beak, the groove of the lower beak is deep, the upper beak is shallow and cap-shaped, and the edge has sparse serrations and fine hairs, which are inverted in the water like a big sieve, which can quickly suck the water in and filter out, dip the head down when foraging, turn the mouth upside down, suck the food into the mouth, discharge the excess water and inedible dregs, and make the food stay in the mouth and swallow it slowly.

In addition, it has a large tongue, which also helps to press water out and prevent swallowing large objects.

Yang Wu appreciated this shocking scene, and in his previous life, he could only see the overwhelming blue and red on TV, but he didn't expect to see it on the spot now, and it was even more beautiful and thrilling!

And the lake is densely packed with hippos and Nile crocodiles.

Relying on the abundant aquatic resources of Lake Manyara, these hippos and Nile crocodiles eat fat and wide bodies one by one, and Yang Wu estimates that they can benefit a lot of life.

Yang Wu descended this small hill, bypassed a swamp in front of him, and walked about five hundred meters before coming to the shore of the lake.

Because there are no large carnivores like lions, herbivores are more frequent, grazing in the jungles around Lake Manyara and coming to the lake when they are drinking.

Yang Wu's arrival can be regarded as breaking the original calm and balance here, after a burst of "chickens flying and dogs jumping"!

Whether it is herbivores, flamingos, flamingos and other birds, they are far away from Yang Wu, because the density of animals here is too dense, so an encirclement is formed in Yang Wu's location.

"Roar! roar......"

Yang Wu also roared in a low voice, driving away these birds, he rampage all the way, the flamingos on this road flew away in a hurry, a touch of yellow in the red, and the noise of "chirping" filled the sky with bird feathers.

"Ang, Ang, Ang......"

Just as Yang Wu came to the hippo gathering place, the leader of this group of hippos hurriedly rushed over and threatened Yang Wu not to approach.

Hippos and Nile crocodiles generally live together, especially in the more crowded water, you don't mess with me, I don't mess with you, and they get along quite well.

Although these Nile crocodiles did not show obvious intent to attack, they also dived into the lake one after another, and could attack at any time.

"Roar~......"

Yang Wu thought to himself: You don't know how powerful, there is no direction, I killed the hippopotamus around the earth, uh~ I can pave a few hundred meters!

Hearing Yang Wu's provocation, the hippo leader didn't care what the number of three-seven equals.

Hippopotamus Rush!

It has a huge mouth in the sea tank, and its fangs more than half a meter long are yellow stains, but you can't ignore its power!

"Come hard, then come hard!"

Iron Mountain!

Yang Wu's body shape has changed dramatically compared to a month ago, although the shoulder height of 1.1 meters is still much shorter than the hippopotamus's 1.5 meter shoulder height, but at least it does not look as big as a month ago.

"Bump...... Boom!"

The sound of the collision is like two cars crashing together!

However, Yang Wu didn't have anything, he didn't move, but his body advanced some distance from the place of collision, and the hippo leader flew away!

It flew upside down and slammed into the lake.

"Ang~Kang...... Kang ......"

It cried out in pain, its voice was faintly inaudible, and it was accompanied by a cough, and the hippopotamus leader was bleeding from his mouth and nose, and his internal organs were so damaged that he could not survive.

Since Yang Wu killed the lion king more than a month ago, and killed the hippo leader this time, it can be seen that his strength growth and physical fitness improvement are huge!
