Chapter 119: Enraged Adolf
A carrier pigeon flew into the city of Ayr, followed by a series of footsteps.
Amos took the letter he had just taken down, sweat appeared on his forehead involuntarily, and he hurriedly ran to the Viscount's mansion.
Thinking of that terrible information, he didn't care about aristocratic etiquette, and tried his best to make himself faster and faster.
Guards in front of the Viscount's Palace. Seeing that Amos was in such a hurry, he didn't have time to interrogate, so he got out of the way.
"Where is Lord Viscount". Amos asked the guards, but instead of stopping, he sped up.
The guards glanced at each other and engaged in a quick and silent inquiry, before the last one replied to Amos, "It is said to be in the study."
Hearing the reply, Amos didn't have time to say more, so he subconsciously clenched the parchment roll in his hand and sped up again.
After a short while, he walked outside a room, and it was only then that Amos calmed down a little and tidied up his clothes. Without losing the aristocratic etiquette, he shouted into the door: "Lord Viscount."
"Amos?". Adolf's voice came from inside the room.
Then, without waiting for Amos to reply, he continued: "Come in."
"Yes". Amos replied respectfully, reaching open the door and striding inside.
Adolf looked at Amos, put down the quill in his hand, and carefully examined his expression.
"Looking in a hurry, Amos, this is not what you usually look like, is something big going on?". Adolf looked at Amos's expression and said slowly to him, and at the same time, a trace of vigilance rose in his heart. It must not be a trivial matter to be able to change the expression of his right-hand man.
Amos took a deep breath, and a heavy look appeared on his face: "When I asked Carl just now, Carl suddenly disappeared."
"Carl disappeared?". Adolf was stunned for a moment.
Gradually, he reacted, and immediately blurted out, and his voice became extremely stern: "What did you say?
"Exactly". Amos said to Adolf.
After a slight pause, he changed the conversation: "This is not the most terrible thing."
"Viscount, please take a look at this latest message from Fort Gutun." Amos took out the parchment roll in his hand and respectfully handed it to Adolf.
Reaching out to take the parchment, Adolf slowly opened it, his gaze quickly looking at it.
A cloud of anger quietly rose, and then a violent cry said: "How can this be true, Siegburg has actually changed like this."
"Carl, this must be Carl's handiwork, it's hateful that he has been cheapened for nothing after years of hard work." Adolf's tone was almost growling.
Feeling Adolf's monstrous anger, Amos felt a trace of fear in his heart, and quickly closed his mouth and said nothing. After all, he was nominally in charge of all the intelligence in Ayrshire, but due to the short period of time, coupled with the complicated situation of Fort Sieg and Fort Gutun, he simply did not have the ability to completely control it.
There was no response, Adolf thought of something in an instant, and looked directly at Amos: "Charlie, where is Charlie".
"Charlie is stationed at Sidon Pass". Amos thought quickly, blurted out almost without thinking.
Adolf clenched his hand into a fist and slammed it into the case.
"Bang".
There was a loud bang, which made Amos shiver.
"Carl and Charlie are incomparable, so Charlie is no longer reliable at this time." Adolf thought quickly.
Looking out the door, he shouted violently outside: "Denton".
"Lord Viscount". A burly man strode in, and the atmosphere in the room suddenly sank.
Amos was shocked, he didn't expect that even Denton had returned, it seemed that Lord Viscount had done a lot of things in the past few days.
"Send soldiers to Charlie's house at once, and arrest all his children for me." Adolf said to Denton.
Denton was stunned for a moment, but only for a moment, and then his stomach and Adolf bowed, "Yes."
As soon as the words fell, he turned around and was about to walk outside.
At this time, a soldier hurriedly ran over and shouted to Adolf: "Lord Viscount, it's not good, a group of old men just kidnapped General Charles's family and rushed out of the city gate, and they escaped without hurrying to stop us."
"Holding Charlie's family hostage?". Adolf was shocked and blurted out subconsciously.
Amos reacted and hurriedly asked the soldier, "In what direction did they flee from?"
"East". The soldier replied to Amos without thinking, while looking at Adolf cautiously.
Amos thought for a while in his mind, and said slowly to Adolf: "The east should be the place where the refugees gathered."
"Charlie's family is small, East, Refugees, Siegburg, Carl". Adolf said slowly, and every word he said became more solemn.
His eyes instantly turned red, and he almost gritted his teeth and let out an angry roar: "Okay, good refugee, since you are begging for death, then I can't blame me."
"Denton, how many soldiers and horses under his command have been withdrawn now." Adolf turned his gaze to Denton and asked him.
Denton thought quickly, and said slowly to Adolf: "Due to the hurry of returning from this trip, and the war at Fort Guton is tight, the seven hundred junior warriors and three hundred junior magicians have not been brought back."
"Still". Denton paused slightly as he said this.
Adolf couldn't help frowning, and asked him rhetorically, "But what?"
"To be on the safe side, I have mobilized eight hundred trainee soldiers, who should be able to complete any orders given by the Viscount." Denton whispered to Adolphus.
Adolf nodded with satisfaction: "Charlie's family must be recovered, and those refugees must also be exterminated."
"So I order you to immediately lead your eight hundred trainee soldiers to wipe out that refugee camp in one fell swoop. At the same time, I will also send elite soldiers to help you in the rear." Adolphus spoke to Denton, and the determination in his words was self-evident.
Denton was stunned again, he couldn't imagine that a place where refugees gathered was worthy of such a big deal about the Viscount. But after a little thought, I replied respectfully: "Yes".
"Go, look forward to your good news". Adolf whispered slowly to Denton, letting out a sigh in his heart. With the strength of Denton's mid-level warriors, with the addition of eight hundred trainee warriors, it should be enough to complete this task.
Amos watched Denton's back and gradually fell into deep thought, knowing that the real military strength of Ayrshire was only two thousand trainee warriors, seven hundred junior warriors and three hundred junior mages, plus this intermediate warrior Denton.
Now that Denton is leading eight hundred trainee soldiers out against the refugees, it seems that the viscount is really angry.
