32 Drink a little wine
(This chapter begins, and the first volume of Gao Chao!)
-----------
After gaining the new ability, Lorne only felt sleepy again, exhausted, and a little distracted.
In a trance, Lorne saw Erin approaching, hugged him gently, and whispered something in his ear, but he didn't hear a word. Lorne subconsciously reached out and put his arm around her waist, his chin resting on Erin's shoulder, really a little tired for unknown reasons.
Lorne didn't know what was going on, but he fell asleep again, didn't dream, and had a faint phantom pain in his chest. He wasn't hurt at all, but the sharp pain from the phantom tentacles piercing his chest didn't dissipate for a long time.
When he woke up, Lorne rubbed his head and found himself lying on a large bed in his bedroom. It took a few seconds for Lorne to come to his senses, and he looked at the small bed against the wall, then at the big bed he was sleeping in, and then looked around, finally knowing where he was.
The familiar small skylight, the unfinished thin quilt on the bed exudes the fragrance of a girl, and the iron pot on the wooden table outside the room, everything is very clear. This was Irene's house, and the centurion did what he said he would, and moved in with a big bed.
The large bed was placed against the stone wall next to the door, and Erin's bed was against the wall on the right side. Lorne sat on the big bed with his eyes dimmed, his legs crossed, his head against the wall, his mind empty.
Erin is supposed to be still working at the hospital and hasn't come back. The warm sunset light fell on his face through the skylight, and Lorne closed his eyes to realize that it was already dusk. It turned out that I slept for most of the day.
Thinking that there was really nothing to do, Lorne got up and got out of bed, and was about to leave the bedroom, when he suddenly found a key at the head of the bed, and a yellowed paper pressed underneath.
Lorne took the paper, and there was some cute writing on it: "I'm going to do an experiment today, I'll be back later." When you wake up, you can go to the tavern and sit down. "On the back is a cute stick figure of a sticky tongue with an E, the initials of Irene.
Lorne's heart was warm, and he pasted the paper on his chest, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but arc. He paused, put the key in his pocket, and closed the door and left.
The streets at dusk are rarely pedestrians, and there is no hustle and bustle of cars and horses. Many of the shops are abandoned, and except for the gentle sunset, everything seems to be so deserted.
Lorne was a little disappointed. In the few days he had been in this world, he had never seen the prosperity that originally belonged to Nokmar, and what reality left him was the shattered land after the erosion of the fog.
The hustle and bustle of those towns, the solemn processions, or the grandiose ceremonies, now exist only in the fond memories of the hunters. In just six months, the country was polluted to the point where it was not presentable.
Lorne walked down the street and asked a poorly dressed woman where the tavern was. The woman pointed in the direction and looked at him with trepidation, and Lorne was surprised, but also thanked him and hurried away.
Could it be that he looks too intimidating?, Lorne brushed his hair and soon found a tavern around the corner. The woman's laughter came from within, accompanied by the sound of a hard object crashing, and it seemed as if someone was clapping.
Lorne frowned, not quite understanding how Erin could let herself come to such a place for fun. Nervous, he grabbed his collar with one hand and slowly pushed open the wooden shamshell.
The air in the tavern was a little hot, and there was only one table of guests. The five middle-aged hunters clinked their glasses and laughed, and drank the dull yellow liquor in one gulp. The shirt on his body was soaked with sweat, showing off his muscular body.
The centurion was also there, with his head propped up on his left knuckles, and sat in the corner of the long table, with a wooden cup in front of him. There was also a woman standing at the table, talking and laughing with the hunters, her face reddening even more from the exhalation of wine.
Lorne finally saw it clearly, and stepped forward in disbelief: "Your Highness Yugxia?"
"Huh?" Yugothea looked a little drunk, and cast her confused gaze, pausing for a moment before she could see the comer, "Lorne, you...... You're awake. ”
Lorne only felt a burning sensation on his face. The various voices I heard just now turned out to be them drinking and chatting here, and there was nothing dirty at all. He smiled awkwardly, and as he approached, the hunters rushed forward to greet him, snorting wine on his shoulders.
They were all about the same age as the centurions, each of them tall, muscular, and with frightening scars crawling on various parts. The hunters put their thick arms on Lorne, so heavy that they almost didn't slap Lorne to the ground.
"Lorne, it's just in time! Drink!" said the blacksmith Renus, who was also there, his face flushed, as he beckoned to the young man behind the counter to prepare a draft beer.
Lorne was so gracious that he sat down with the big brothers and drank with them. Although they speak loudly and shout a little tinnitus, it is inexplicably reassuring.
On the third day of coming to this world, at dusk, in the tavern of White Sails, Lorne felt the excitement for the first time. Although there are only eight people in the count, it is enough.
The centurion had already drunk a few large glasses and smiled rarely: "Lorne, let me introduce, these are the good brothers who have been following me. Reynas, Lambai, Gul, Scott, and Balza. ”
"Hello. Lorne smiled and nodded, looking at the five big men in front of him, all of whom looked almost scary, the only one he could identify at the moment was the bearded blacksmith Renus.
"Wow, wow!" the hunters clapped their hands and coaxed again, "Boss, why don't you introduce yourself!"
"Go, what do I have to say. The centurion waved his hand, "Say it or not, it's your leader!"
This made the crowd laugh, and the hunters put their palms to their mouths and booed. Lorne's beer arrived, and at the urging of everyone, he wanted to finish it in one gulp, but the beer was much bitterer than expected, and he stopped after taking a sip.
The hunters laughed again, and Rainus suddenly had an idea, and said, "How about we make a bet?"
"Bet on what?" said Yugshia.
"Your Highness, you might as well take a gamble to see if our new executioner is very drunk and drunk. Renus laughed, "Bet on whether he can finish this Siren stout in three sips." ”
The hunters' interest was aroused, and for a time the bets were divided into two sides of the equilibrium. Reynas pulled out a silver coin with a lion's mouth on it, pressed his fingers on the table, and was joined by the long-haired Lambai and Gul.
"I bet he won't finish it. Renus laughed.
Jugshia pressed the silver lion coin to the table, and Scott and Balza chose to support the princess, thinking that Lorne would be able to drink it all three. The centurion remained, and he was still a little hesitant, but he quickly pulled out a silver coin and pressed it on Yugshia's side.
Lorne was a little confused, not knowing how he had become the target of the bet. But seeing that there were three votes and felt that he couldn't finish drinking, his aggressive energy also came up, and he shouted with a smile: "Drink it!"
