Chapter 254: Pip's Help
On the way there, Wood meets Pip again, only this time Pip is not passing by, but waiting for him here.
"Is there something you're looking for me?" Wood asked, puzzled, seeing Pip's nervous look. It's rare to see such an expression on Pip's face, and it turns out to be nervous.
"I just wanted to tell you that I really wanted to be able to do something for you. If anything happens to you, please be sure to let me know. Even if I don't have the ability to help you myself, I think I'll think I'll think of a way to help you. Pip kept his head down when he spoke.
Although Wood couldn't see the expression on Pip's face at this time, he was still very moved when he heard Pip's sincere words.
"I'm so touched by the fact that you can say that, really, if there's something I can't solve, I'll definitely ask you for help. But what I do now, I only hope to accomplish through my own efforts, because this is my commitment to someone who trusts me. Wood was moved to tell Pip that he really needed some help right now.
But Wood had promised Wickla that he wouldn't let more people know about him. So, Wood felt like he had better not let more people know what he was going to do next.
"Still, there's one that can help me. After Wood finished speaking, he clearly felt the look on Pip's face dim quickly.
It occurred to Wood that if he had only asked Pip about something, perhaps he wouldn't have thought of going anywhere else.
"What's the matter?" Hearing Wood's words, Pip's heart suddenly fell to the bottom, and he had been waiting for Wood for a long time. Hearing Wood say that he didn't want to help himself, Pip was really sad.
But when he heard Wood say that there might be something he could help with, Pip was in good spirits. Listening, he didn't know what Wood needed to help him with.
"Do you know much about Professor Crick?" Wood asked tentatively, knowing that Pip and the elven butlers were among the first to come here. Presumably they would know Professor Crick best.
Pip was stunned for a moment when he heard Wood's words, because he never thought that what Wood wanted to ask him about Professor Crick.
"Isn't Professor Crick the most difficult thing for you?" Pip didn't rush to answer Wood's question, but asked rhetorically.
"No, but why do you ask?" Wood wondered why Pip suddenly asked himself, could there be some very unknown side of Professor Crick?
"Oh, it's fine if it doesn't, I don't mean there's anything wrong with Professor Crick, it's just that sometimes Crick looks like he's two people. Pip said that he was worried that he would bother Wood by saying this, and in fact it did bother Wood.
What is like two people? How is that possible?
So he quickly explained: "I mean, I feel that Professor Crick has two different personalities, on the one hand, he is a very stable person, and on the other hand, he feels like a very contradictory person at times. Pip explained that because Professor Crick had only come to Bird Silence College later, Pip knew a lot about Professor Crick.
Professor Crick's elven butler is Nick, because he is the elven butler who used to cry silently because of a pair of shoes. Wood doesn't remember much of Nick's appearance, but after listening to Pip's description, he quickly remembered the elf who always seemed to be submissive.
Wood remembers what Pippon had said about Nick crying silently because one of his shoes was missing when they went to pick him up. Wood could imagine the thin figure, a silent crying alone. It's really distressing.
Nick comes across as almost similar to Professor Crick, as Nick's presence is barely noticeable if you're not paying attention. But if you hear something about him, you will also suddenly remember that there is also a Nick. And you'll find that you can remember so much about him.
It's all happening to you inadvertently, and you won't even remember when it happened, but you're going to remember it silently.
According to Pip, Professor Crick used to go to school here, and Pip remembers that Crick wasn't what he is when he went to school. When he was a student, Crick was actually very popular with everyone.
He often brings happiness to the people around him, and at that time, he was a sunny and kind child. Pip still thinks so, because Professor Crick has never done anything to hurt anyone.
In addition to the death of his mother, he also had a big misunderstanding with his younger brother. Pip remembers that the two brothers used to be very good. But that changed was when their mother died. It is said that someone saw the two brothers fighting, and although Pip couldn't believe it was true, he seemed to believe it after seeing some of Crick's performances.
Because since then, Crick is like a different person, he no longer talks or laughs, and he no longer likes to communicate with people. You know, Crick used to be a person who liked to share all kinds of things about himself with others.
But since their mother died, he has become a man of few words, does not like to go out, and does not like to see anyone. After that, he stayed here as a professor of creation. This is also because he is excellent in this aspect, and Principal Brooke values him very much.
In order not to disappoint Principal Brooke, Crick tries to make himself look normal during class. But when you can't see him, he becomes another version of himself.
It's like a split personality, and Headmaster Brooke is also helpless about it, wanting to do something for him, but he refuses everyone's help. Because Crick refuses to tell everyone what happened to their mother, no one knows about it. This is also what Professor Shivala does not understand about him, so the two of them barely talk much.
"Is that all?" Wood listened, always feeling as if something was missing.
